"You coming?" Rebecca called over her shoulder from the top of the stairs.

Rebecca pulled the spellbook out from under her bed and sat back where she had been before, in the middle of the room.
Zach sat next to her. Right next to her, actually, as close as he would have sat next to her were they still together, out of habit. When he noticed, however, Zach scooted away a bit, but still close enough to see.
"So spellbooks don't just come into existance," Rebecca said, not waisting anytime. "Someone has to write them, and like any other book the authors name is inside. Unlike regular books however its not like Spellbook number 5,895 by John Doe. The names of the authors are hidden inside, and the author is revealed only to those who can figure out how to find the name."
"As in. . .?" Zach asked. "What? What do you mean?"
"Let me show you," Rebecca said. She waved at her shelf and three books came off the shelf and landed infront of her. She whispered a spell and passed a hand over the tree books as she did so. Her eyes flashed golden and the books open to seemingly random pages. On each page a hand fill of letters were glowing. After a moment the words vanished, everything except for the letters which rearanged themselves to spell out something else. These pages on all three books now read Rebecca Edgely. "These are book I wrote," she said.
"So. . .what did you do to make the name appear?" Zach asked.
"Just a simple spell," Rebecca said. "Now for this one I tried every thing I could think of to get it to reappear, with the exception of what I just did, I figured it was unlikely that it would be the same, but when nothing else worked I decided I had to try it." She pulled the book infront of her and repeated what she did with the book she had written. She lifted the book and pointed to the name Mason Edgely. "That's my dad," she said.
"So. . .how does that knowledge help?" Zach asked, never even having seen her dad before.
"It narrows down the list of people who can help us from every witch in the world, living or dead, to one man," Rebecca said, then she got up and went downstairs. When she came back she had an empty cup, a knife, and an atlas. "One man who I can track pretty easily."
Rebecca took the knife and cut her palm. She squeezed her fist over the cup, filling it about a fourth of the way with her blood. "DNA tracking," Rebecca said, healing her palm. Then she focused on the cup of her blood and it split into two seperate pools of blood.
Zach scooted farther away from the scene.
"Everyone has a half and half blend of their parents DNA," Rebecca explainedN collecting one of the pools into the dropped. Then she held up the dropper, "This is my father's." She opened the atlas to a map of the world and put one drop in the center of the map. She focused and the drop move umtil it was ontop of North America.
Zach watched, partly disgusted, partly curious.
Rebecca flipped to another page of a map of North America and did the same thing again. It landed on northwest US
Rebecca flipped to a map of the region and got Washington, then she started to panic. She did the state and got Forks. She printed a map of the town and got a house about three streets over. "He's been here this whole time," she whispered, staring numbly at the paper in front of her.
"Which means I've probably seen him everyday, but I never knew because I've never met him," Rebecca said her blank stare not moving from the paper. "He's been her all along," she whispered to herself, "and he never even made an effort to see me. God knows how long he's been living right down the street from me."
"Perhaps. . .you're why he chose to live here." Zach said.
"I'm sure that's true," Rebecca said, starting to sound a bit angry. "I'd bet he's been following me, living right down the block all these years, everywhere I've lived!"
"All this time, everything that's happened to us and he couldn't once have tried to help!" Rebecca was fuming now.

"When we were missing for 3 months because of the mord sith, he didn't know there was something wrong?" Rebecca challenged.
"Maybe he doesn't keep that close tabs on you." Zach said.
Rebecca rolled her eyes. "He couldnt have possibly missed that he live to streets over," she practically growled. "I'd rather take my chances with after effect than go and ask him for help, but I can't do that I have to go talk to him."
"Now," Rebecca said. "Get up before you fall asleep. I cannot believe I'm doing this."
Rebecca stormed down the stairs and out the door into the cold night, too angry to notice it.
Zach followed, too sleepy to really feel the cold.
Rebecca didn't even bother knocking on her fathers door, she just splayed her palms and the door was blown off its hinges. She walked in and looked around, it almost seemed as if no one lived there if it weren't for the man walking down the stairs yelling about them paying for the door.
Zach stood behind Rebecca at the doorway.
"You're gonna have to pay for that," Mason was shouting at Rebecca but she just rolled her eyes, waver her hand and the door fixed itself. "So how long have you been following me?" She asked.
"Your whole life."
"Never thought to say hi, send a birthday card, nothing?"
"Can't say I did."
"Well here's some thing else you left behind," she threw the book at him. "How do you reverse the after effect of this spell." The book flipped to page that she used on her and Zach.
"You did this spell?"
"Yeah?"
"On who?"
"The both of us."
"Well then its simple; one of you kills the other and the one that's left if fine."
Rebecca nodded. She went into the kitchen, pulled out a carving knife and stared at the blade, running her finger along it.
Zach backtracked several steps at the sight of the knife. He'd thought they'd at least talk about it. He would never have thought Rebecca would be so ready to kill him.
Rebecca threw the knife so it stuck in the ground at his feet. "Make it quick," she said trying keep her voice emotionless but failing as her voice cracked.
"Make what quick?" Zach asked, inching away from the knife.
"You have to kill me," Rebecca said.
"That's the only way to fix this," Rebecca said. "This way we both get what we want. You won't be a killer, and I won't be alive for you to hate me."
"Killing you counts." Zach said. "I won't do it."
"Then we'll both become murderers," Rebecca said, "which is worse."
"I won't kill you, Rebecca. I can't. That's the end of it. You want to end this? Kill me. Because that's the only way." Then Zach turned and left.
"Why not? You hate me anyway!" Rebecca shouted.
Zach didn't answer, he just kept walking.
"Zach there's another way," Rebecca called after him, lying trying to get him to come back.
