"Do you want to take the bike?" Jacob asked

"...Sure. Why not?" Susannah said after a little while.
Jacob lead her to the garage and pulled the tarp off of the bike.
As she saw it, Susannah almost changed her mind. She'd forgotten how big the bike was, and how very unsafe she felt just standing next to it. But she stayed.
Jacob handed her the spare helmet and got on the bike.
Susannah got on behind him, trying to remind herself how stupid it was to be afraid of a machine.
Jacob started the bike andthe engine roared.
This time, unlike last time, Susannah made no sound of fear or surprise. Progress. she thought.
Jacob drove the bike to Rebeccas house without saying anything
When they stopped, Susannah got off the bike quickly.
Jacob put down the kick stand and took Susannah's hand.
Jacob knocked on the door and Rebecca opened it. "Hey guys," she smiled. "What's up?"
"Can I talk to Christian?" Susannah asked.
"Yeah sure," Rebecca said, "come on in. Christian!" She called up the stairs.
"What do you want?" Christian asked, irritated, as he came down the stairs. "I was busy."
"Susannah wanted to talk to you," Rebecca said.
Christian's eyebrows scrunched in confusion. As far as he knew, he didn't know a Susannah. Then as he looked towards the door, dim recognition lit his face. "About what?" he asked.
"Christian, was your dad's name Jason Shadow? And do you know if he knew a Grayson Summers?" Susannah asked him.One of Christian's dark brown eyebrows rose in interest. "Let's talk in my room." he said slowly, his mind working to find all the reasons she could ask a question like that.
Rebecca shrugged again and went out for a walk. Jacob got up to follow Susannah and Christian.

When they got into his room, Christian turned to face Susannah. "How do you know my dad's name?" he asked."It was in my father's journal." Susannah said.
Christian's eyes widened. "You're dad is Grayson Summers?"
Jacob watched, very interested in the exchange. It seemed to him like Christian knew something about Susannah's dad.
"So-so-so that means you're a firestarter?" Christian asked, practically vibrating with excitement.Susannah nodded slowly, wondering why that was such a huge deal.
"Dude! I feel like I'm meeting a rock star!" Christian said as he paced excitedly. "This is huge."
"So you know about fire starters?" Jacob asked to clarify.
Christian nodded enthusiastically. "They're like, super rare. As their powers grow, they become very unpredictable and shadow spinners commonly help them train to use their power because shadows are not flammable and there is no way a shadow spinner could ever be one of the pure hearted, meaning that they wouldn't put the firestarter into danger."
"What else do you know about pure hearted?" Jacob asked.
"The shape-shifters love them. Their power is fueled by the blood of the purehearted. Think of them like mortal, flexible, phycopathic vampires. Since the purehearted are even rarer than the firestarters, they generally follow the purehearted around." Christian said. "Oh, and their only weakness, the only way you can be sure they're a shape-shifter is if you drop them in holy water at midnight on a blue moon. Not only does that sound stupid, but it's a lot harder to do than it sounds, which is why people rarely ever know."
"I'm assuming that's where the holy water on vampires myth comes into play," Jacob said.
"What about Shifters?" Jacob asked. "Is there anyway to know who they are?"
"Dude, have you been listening? I just told you that you have to dump them in holy water at midnight on a blue moon. I don't know why, but that combination of things short circuts their powers and they start switching forms like crazy, changing into everything they had ever shifted into." Christian said.
"Oh," Jacob said. "I thought you meant that was the only way to destroy them."
"Oh, no. You can kill them just like you'd kill anyone. It's just hard because if they shift to water or air, it's almost impossible." Christian clarified.
Jacob nodded that was good to know.
Christian turned back to Susannah. "So is it true?" he asked her."Is what true?" Susannah asked.
"It it true that when they're mad, firestarters eyes turn red and their hair flames up?" Christian clarified.
Jacob nodded. "I've seen it my self," he said.
"Dude, you are awesome!" Christian said. "I have to work with you. Please?" he asked. He wasn't very well respected in the shadow spinner community because his father didn't have a very good reputation with him, but working with a firestarter would really help him.
Jacob looked to Susnnah, he thought it was a good idea but it was her desition.
"Um...I guess?" Susannah said, not understanding why it was such a big deal."Yes! You won't regret this, I promise!" Christian said.
"I want to ask you some questions about your dad, if you wouldn't mind." Susannah said to Christian, while at the same time answering Jacob's question."Ok, shoot." Christian said.
Jacob leaned against the wall to listen to the proceedings.
"How did he know my dad?" Susannah asked."They were friends in high school." Christian answered.
"And do you really know how to help me keep this," Susannah paused, thought of the girl that had tricked Jacob into thinking she didn't love him anymore, and her eyes flashed red and the tips of her hair lit up. "from happening all the time?" Susannah asked.
"Of course. It's shadow spinner 101, babe." Christian said.
Jacob's eyes narrowed when Christian called Susannah babe.
"Oh, thank god." Susannah sighed. "First this never happened, and now it seems to happen all the time." she said as the flames extunguished and her eyes returned to their normal color. Christian put a comforting hand on Susannah's shoulder. "Really, being a firestarter doesn't have to be horrible. I've read about many who live perfectly normal lives. It just takes practice."
"Don you have a girlfriend?" Jacob sake when Christian put his hand on Susannahs shoulder. He couldn't help it, he was extremely jealous
"No." Christian said. "Star and I broke up." he answered.((I had Christian not be with Star anymore because I don't like him being with someone who's never there, ya know? Because the girl who played her never posts anymore. Is that ok?))
{{It's your character I was just having Jacob be paranoid}}"Oh," was all Jacob could think of to say in response.
"So, when can we start?" Susannah asked."Tomorrow." Christian said. "I have to do some research."
