"Do you want me to leave?" Susannah asked.

"I'm ok," Rebecca said. "But I think I'll go hunt anyway." Then she left.Jacob approached the school just after Rebecca left.
"Do you think you passed the geometry test?" Susannah asked."No. I think I failed it. You?" Zach asked.
"I think i passed, but I don't think I got a good grade. Question 6 had me stumped." Susannah replied.
"Hey," Jacob said coming up behind Susannah wrapping his arms around her waist.
Jacob gently touched Susannah's arm. "I'm so so sorry," he whispered.
"You're forgiven." Susannah said, careful not to say fine, because it wasn't exactly fine, though she wasn't mad at him.
Tara walked by then. "So this is why you won't out with me?!" she laughed. "Are you serious, look at her, look at you, and then look at me, it obvious that I am a much better match for you then she is."A tremor rolled down Jacob's spine as he felt the hot rage all over again, then he looked down at Susannah's arm and the anger ebbed. "Just leave me alone," Jacob said, but it came out as a choked whisper as looked at Susannah's arm but thats not what Tara thought the choked sound was.
She interpreted it as a hesitation and stepped closer and put her hands on the buttons of his shirt. "Just think of all the fun we could have."
"Tara. Back off. Now is not the time." Susannah said, glaring at Tara.
"I think that you should let Jakey decide who it's time for," Tara said."First of all, my name is Jacob or Jake to my friend, and they don't include you, not Jakey. Second of all I decide that it's time for Susannah, it will always be time for Susannah, as long as she wants my time to be about her it will be for her. It will be time for Susannah until I am stiff and six feet under. Do I make myself clear?"
"Crystal," Tara said brusquely then turned and stomped off.
"I really wish she had been in your place when I shifted," Jacob growled.
"Jacob, don't get so worked up over her. She's just an airhead with legs and arms." Susannah said.
"With horrible nicknames. I mean, Jakey? Seriously? I think her last brain cell died out on that one." Susannah responded.
"More than likely," Jacob laughed.
Susannah smiled. "Guys, what's 172 divided by two?" Zach asked.
"Why?" Susannah asked.
"It's my random thought of the day. I'm going to start saying them outloud so as not to forget any." he said.
Zach nodded. "Thanks. Now...that's all the thoughts I have right now." Susannah chuckled. "Zach your mind works in mysterious ways."
"Thank you." Zach replied, smiling.
"Square root of negative six?" Jacob challenged Zach. Having already finished high school he knew the answer but he wouldn't laugh if Zach didn't
Zach thought. And thought. "Dude, I didn't even know you could find the square roots of negative numbers...." He quickly took out his calculator, and it said ERROR. "Ok, niether me, nor my calculator know. What's the answer?"
"That's because according to the number system you know such a number doesn't exist," Jacob said. "Don't worry you'll get it in Trigonometry."
"I don't take that for another year or two. But it sounds interesting." Zach replied, though he normally hated math. "It does! What's the point of Trigonometry?" Susannah asked. She loved math.
"Being a trigonometry teacher, it doesn't have any other practical application in life." Jacob said.
"Then why do people take the class?" Zach asked."Because it sounds fun." Susannah answered.
"No. No, math never sounds fun. God, Susannah, what did your parents teach you when you were little?" Zach asked with mock horror.
"That math was fun." Susannah replied.
Jacob laughed. "They take it because that's what society has decided is appropriate."{{I know that he sounds like a philosopher but I'm in the middle of a book where all the conversations are like that so I'm finding myself thinking that way at the moment.}}
"Society has no idea what it's doing. Can you guys stand here and tell me you wouldn't honestly volentarily sign up for a math class?" Susannah asked, and by the look on Zach's face, she guessed the answer was no."Would you?" he asked.
"I take one every summer. I think this summer I'm going to take a geometry course, and maybe an architecture course." Susannah replied.
"Nerd." Zach said, but he was smiling to say he didn't mean it offensively.
((Lol, that's ok. Makes him sound super smart.))
"The biggest nerd of them all," Jacob chuckled. "And I personally wouldn't voluntarily sign up for a math course."
"Do you guys have any favorite subjects?" Susannah asked, since math was obviously going nowhere."I actually love english." Zach replied.
"Not particularly. I was good at math and science but I never really enjoyed the concept of school. It never appealed to me to sit for eight hours to learn things you'll never think of after schools over the idea became increasingly ridiculous after I became a wolf. When would the atomic mass of a particle of uranium ever have anything to do with killing a blood thirsty monster. No offense Zach."
"None taken. I do not think of myself as the blood thirsty monster type." Zach replied."Yeah, but it gave you something to do for eight hours. If I had no school to go to, what would I possibly do in those eight hours?" Susannah said.
As much as he would rather lie to Susannah about it he knew he couldn't. "I would have spent my time trying to Bella Swan to fall in love with me," Jacob said quietly.
Susannah felt a stab of pain at this but reminded herself that Jacob hadn't met her yet, and only nodded."Isn't she that vampire with the sheild power-thing?" Zach asked.
"She wasn't a vampire when we were four, she wasn't a vampire until she was out of high school."
"How'd she turn into one?" Susannah asked.
"The Cullens turned her into one," Jacob said, "because she asked. She asked for that life, she asked for the unbearable pain that comes with the transformation." He was getting so upset at the memory of it that he felt the heat begin to spread from the pit of his stomach and slow shudder ran threw him. But he again took Susannah's arm and looked at the bandages and he instantly calmed down.
Zach grimanced. "Ok...that's...there's no nice way to say this: that's weird."
"I would say more along the lines of that sick. With Rebecca when she wished it upon herself it was for a purpose, when Bella asked it she just wanted a leech boyfriend," Jacob said.
Though he'd never admit it, Zach took offense to that one. Any vampire could be described as a leech. But the way Zach looked at it, so were people. Did they not take the life of animals to eat? Wasn't that what Zach, Rebecca, and the Cullens did too? But he stayed silent."Why do you keep calling them leeches?" Susannah asked.
"Because leeches suck blood from living things and so do they," Jacob said then just remembered that Zach was a vampire. "Oh i didn't mean it like that Zach it's just, sort of like programing since I was 16 that was the way the rest of the pack mind thought of vampires and that transfered to me."
"Yeah, it's fine." Zach said, and he had to work really hard to make his voice sound like it was fine. But it wasn't. He knew he probably wasn't being totally fair, but still...it bugged him. He didn't normally associate himself with the regular thinking of vampires, but it was just Jacob's casual use of the word, as if that's alll they were...Susannah decided it was time for a change of subject, "So have you guys heard about the new harry potter movie?"
"And are you super excited?" Susannah asked."Not really." Zach answered.
" I definitely want to go see it," Jacob smiled.
Susannah nodded. "It's going to be awesome.""What makes you think that?" Zach asked.
"Because everyone knows Harry Potter is beyond awesome." Susannah said like it should be obvious.
"See?" Susannah said to Zach."I don't know...the first one put me to sleep." Zach said.
"Well I guess it's all preference."
"Everything's preferance." Zach said. "There's just good preference," he pointed to himself, "And there's bad preference." he pointed to Susannah and Jacob. Susannah stuck her tounge out at him.
Then in the path, a light appeared. It was a shimmmering silouete it looked almost like...a person?
