Based on the cover or from what you know about the book, what are your expectations? Do you think you will enjoy it? When and where do you expect it to take place? What do you think the major themes and storylines will be?

Well... to be honest I thought the cover was beautiful but old fashioned. I didn't even realize until I looked that the book was published in 2007. I love that the back of the cover has a close up of two scenes from the front cover. I also like that every time I look at the cover I see something new.

I was a bit put off by the cover--because, like Angie said, it looked old fashioned. If it weren't for the book club, I'm fairly certain I wouldn't have picked it up. I also thought it would be a bit too fairy-tale-ish, meaning too much about fairies with wings and wands, etc, although I was intrigued by the fact that it took place in Transylvania. Once I realized that, I figured it would be more about vampires. The book was actually much different than I expected.

It was much different then I expected too. I really enjoyed it. I would not have picked up this book as well if I was browsing in the book store. I am so glad this group picked it, the book was like a hidden gem.

Yeah, the cover is a bit busy; I'm actually still looking for Waldo (he's in there somewhere, I'm sure of it). I def would not have picked this book up on my own based on the cover. I'm not against really 'girly' books, but the cover of this one is practically painted in estrogen, and I tend to shy away from that kind of thing. I'm glad we picked it though. It was better than I thought it would be.

I agree that it is a very busy cover and I to probably would not have picked it up to read either. I have however enjoyed reading the book and then finding bits and peices of what I have read on the cover.

Love the Where's Waldo comment! I love too finding what I have read about on the cove artr. It is a beautiful cover. I also found out while looking around on the internet that there is a sequel to this book.

Cybele's Secret was good. I just finished reading it. I liked getting inside of a new sister's head.

I feel it is a very girly, princessy cover and I wouldn't have picked it up on my own. I didn't get the book from my library until yesterday and barely had a chance to start it last night. I do enjoy the description of the main character and I think I will be able to get in to it.

The one thing about the cover is that it really gave me a glimpse of what it would be like to be there in the Dancing Glade.

I think the cover is just stunning. I probably wouldn't have picked it up to read right now, based on the summary, if not for the book club. I haven't begun reading it yet, but plan to next week probably and I think it is one that I will enjoy.
