Ball Lightning by Liu Cixin (BR) - starts October 20

[Silvana]

Come and join Tully, Netanella, and I in buddy reading one of the losers in August BOTM poll: Ball Lightning by Liu Cixin.

Ok this would be another full novel I read from the author that is not Three Body Problem trilogy. There is a drama coming out from Iqiyi but don't know when.

[Tully]

Thanks for setting up the link. I look forward to the buddy read!

And I wasn't aware they'd made a drama! Cool. This thread will likely show the info when it is known about the release date.

I'm moving this book over to my October reading schedule! Excited for this one!

[Silvana]

glad to have you both! the book has some other voters in the poll so hopefully more will join.

@Tully:
I am indeed excited for the drama even though it is probably going to be stuck for years like The Dark Forest drama (TBP sequel) 🤧

[Tully]

That will be great. I put the book on hold at my library as there is over a month waiting list.

Yeah, like we will never see Immortality... which is the drama of The Husky and His White Cat Shizun: Erha He Ta De Bai Mao Shizun . However, Ball Lightning is still hopeful!

Sign me up.

yay!

I got my copy from the library early… have it for three weeks and no renewals without a wait, so I might start it next week and save my thoughts for the designated date.

The trailer for Ball Lightning drama has just been released (sorry, apparently not made by Tencent, but their competitor, Iqiyi)

(can turn on auto translate for English though it sounded weird lol)

Iqiyi app can be downloaded from any app store. Can't wait!

This book was intriguing but alas, it is a mismatch for me. I explain why in my short review which I won’t share here since it isn’t time for the buddy read to begin yet.
