Hello. Joined a few weeks ago, but just learning my way around. My name is Mary Louise Davie and wrote Sanacion The Blsck Hole Mission. A member who read my book and is now a friend, turned me on to this site. My second book will be out around the end of the year and I am currently writing my third. My genre is Hard Sci-Fi and there is little I would like more than to visit space and be a new frontiersman. Actually I would love to be one of the first to colonize somewhere, Mars, the Moon...
Hello all! I'm a romantic suspense author who just published her first novel (you can see the teeny version of the cover to the left, lol).I also read a ton. Anything and everything, but of course a lot of romance!
Hello everyone! My name is Brandy. I just published my first book and I'm pretty new to Goodreads. I'm super excited to join the community of fellow book addicts!
Hello everyone, I just recently joined goodreads, I am an author, well I guess technically not yet, I will after May 9th when my first book is out. I write fantasy and science fiction mostly. Have two other series that will be staggered six months after each other one. I hope to be able to bounce ideas off of people and use this group as beta testers for my writing if that is allowed here.
I am completely new at this! My name is A. (Alyssa) Renee Hunt and I've wanted to be a writer all my life but was afraid of rejection. Now I'm 42 and trying to do this 'dream-thing'. I have published five ebooks but my very first novel is about to be published through Tate this year in June and I'm completely nervous! I've experimented but I'm a novice- everyone here seems to already be professionals!

Hello all!My name is Jamie Sheffield, and I'm both a reader and an author. I read voraciously, but only recently published my first book, "Here Be Monsters".
When I'm not reading or writing, I'm a Special Education Teacher in the Adirondack Park in Northern New York. I live in a small house in the woods with my wife and son and 2 rescue dogs (Miles and Puck). My favorite things to do include camping and canoeing and cooking (along with lots of other things that don't begin with the letter 'C').
If you visit my GoodReads Author page, or my website, you can find out more about me and/or my book, and even download the first 2 chapters for FREE.
Thanks,
Jamie

Hey, Doug -
Sounds like I found a fellow traveler! I just posted part one of my sci fi political thriller on Wattpad. NOW I'm trying to figure out how in, uh, heck to post to Goodreads. Any guidance will be most sincerely (if not competently) appreciated!
Bonnie Milani
Hi Bonnie,I don't know about Wattpad (am curious now though) but I use Smashwords and linked Space Danger from there.
It's all a little confusing to me still!
If you go here you can see the links to add a book or manually upload one. Hope that helps.

Thanks for creating this group, Vincent. I am a newly published author of the eBook How To Buy Low And Sell High, a book about investing in the stock market. I published it at Smashwords, and here is the link:http://www.smashwords.com/books/view/...
I am now in the process of getting the word out about it.
My best to all.
Hello, I'm Mel and I like reading and writing about historical murder mysteries. I've written a novel about a number of murders set in the year 1868 which deliberately emulates the style of writing of Conan Doyle and Bram Stoker. If an old fashioned mystery with lots of intrigue sounds your cup of tea, please go and have a look at http://www.amazon.co.uk/Shattered-Clu....
I'm J.P. Hansen, author of "Pink Slips and Glass Slippers," a Contemporary Romance (agented by Jane Dystel), and "The Bliss List," a non-fiction career book (the second edition being published by Reader's Digest in May, 2013, agented by Linda Konner). Though writing inspirational books is my passion (I average 2,500 words per day), I'm also a Life Coach, Professional Speaker, and President of Hansen Executive Search, Inc.
Hi Vincent and group members! I'm a journalist and author. My fiction includes a suspense/thriller, Mind Games, and a grade school fantasy/humor series that I co-authored with my child, The William Edwards Book Series for kids of all ages (www.williamedwards.us). I'm looking forward to reading what you're writing!
Hello group. What a wonderful place to find! I am just beginning to explore Good reads and the rest of the online community of readers and writers. This thread is so big I doubt that I will ever get through it all. I am a writer by trade if being a lawyer makes you a professional writer (it does). I have always enjoyed writing fiction going back to high school and college days. I have a file full of story ideas but not enough time to write. I did self-publish my first mystery novel some years ago and have been working on a second novel for a while now. I also recently completed a screenplay and wrote a short story that won first prize in a Legal Fiction competition.
My goal now is to figure out how to post my new novel as a serial on line so that my friends can read it and so that I can get feedback from other readers and authors. I think that is possible here on Good reads but I am just starting on this site. I'm hoping to make some new friends and read some interesting things.
My new book is a political story. Not really a thriller, but more of a philosophical journey. I'm not sure how to categorize it. But, I'm looking forward to browsing this group and discovering what is here.
Looking forward to meeting new virtual friends.

It's nice to find such a large, active group. A fan of one of my novels sent me the invitation and I'm glad she did. Thanks Mitsy. I'm an award-winning journalist who got tired of writing the truth and decided to make things up!. My first novel, Legacy of the Highlands, did well enough that readers and reviewers wanted to read more and the sequel to the first, A Legacy of Revenge, was just published this week. www.amazon.com/dp/B00BSD9UFY
I live in the northeast of the U.S., have grown twin children and love to travel, read and shop when not writing.
Vincent wrote: "Please introduce yourself! Do you write books? Do you just enjoy reading them?Let us know a little bit more about who you are:" Hi all, my name is Denise Mathew, I've written a few books in several genres, The Crush(book 1), Karmic and Grey Boy and they almost all fall in the YA category. I have three boys,15, 14 and 12, who really need to be pushed to read so I'm really working at writing a book that they'll love, so far Karmic is their favorite and the Crush is a close second. I love all things paranormal and have even been on a few ghost hunts and am thrilled to be part of the group,

I think I'm going to love this group. I was referred by a fellow writer. My name is Michael Allen. I've written about twenty books and ten screenplays. Not all of them are in my name because I've been a ghostwriter since 2000. But my recent novel is "A River in the Ocean." I'm a father to a wonderful daughter. The day she was born was the greatest day of my life. Finally, I have a quirky sense of humor that I didn't realize for most of my life. I thought I just made people laugh from my regular input into their conversations.
Then one day, someone took the time to point out to me that my thoughts were often off the wall. At first, I took it as a compliment. Then, a second thought crossed my mind. But in a flash, it was gone. I forget what that thought was, because I was distracted by a third thought. It's really private though. It's best if I just keep that one to myself.
Hi. I'm from the U.k and I write a MG/teen fantasy series called "Kiera's Quest." http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/12...
I love reading/writing for teens. Anything with angels, vamps, shifters, other realms......
I often lose myself in fantasy worlds- both writing and reading. Nice to be here! xx

Molly wrote: "Hi everyone! I'm Molly. I live in the U.S. I am currently writing a book, but I don't have much time really to work on it, so it's a slow process."I was in the same boat. Full-time day job. Part-time weekend job. It took me a year to write my first book. It's all worth it in the end.
Well I have school. I'm only 16 I am extremely busy with everything. It's hard to find time, but I'll make it! :)
Molly wrote: "Well I have school. I'm only 16 I am extremely busy with everything. It's hard to find time, but I'll make it! :)"Sixteen! Wow! You will make it. I just got my first book published - three years after I retired. I published it at Smashwords and am now working on getting it out at Amazon. Add to that the marketing of the book. It's a new full time job! But I am enjoying this. Never give up, Molly.

Joe,I'm sure your book will be enlightening. One of our daughters ended up supporting the family while her husband took care of the kids. Led to some funny situations.
Molly, I love that you know what you want already. I decided I wanted to write romance novels when I was 33 - and my first is being published this year, seven years later. Good luck to you!

Greetings everyone. My name is Jody Zimmerman, and I am looking forward to participating in the Goodreads Authors/Readers Group. I am drawn to beautifully written sentences and to the people who write them, so I thought this would be a good group to join.My career began in chemical engineering, moved into importing and wholesaling decorative accessories, and now I am focused on commercial real estate.
I have decided that the remainder of my career will be spent doing the two things I am most passionate about: writing and yoga. I am the author of the new psychological mystery, Blood Brothers.
I love reading literary mysteries and thrillers. My new favorite is Diane Owen Prettyman’s Thin Places. What is yours?
Oh, and as you can see from my photo, I love dogs.
