Hey Abigail, how cool is that. And I'm also a Boston girl, but now I live in California. Still a Yank at heart though.
Hello, I'm K. D. McAdams and I am a stay at home dad first and aspiring YA author a close second. My first book was almost finished last October when I found out about NaNoWriMo which takes place in November. My second book was a NaNoWriMo winner and I was able to wrap up book one by the end of December. Two months later I'm learning about editing and revising not to mention promoting and publishing.
Hey everyone! I'm in the process of self publishing my first book and hope to have it out this August. It's a contemporary romance and initially I just wrote it for fun but after getting some friends to read it and researching self publishing my sister convinced me to take a leap. I was hesitant because I didn't want this process to become more about pleasing the readers and less about enjoying my creative process but I've been working hard on not letting that happen. Anyway... My book is Freeing Asia Please check it out if CR is your thing. I'm also on Facebook.

Abigail wrote: "Marci, how funny! Now tell me that you were born in April and you'll be 41 this year. :)"Nope I'm a June baby. But I'll be in Boston for my birthday and my book. I would love it if you came to the book launch/ signing so we could meet.

Hello everyone. I'm an Author and a relative newcomer to Goodreads. I write fast-moving plot-based suspense thrillers with strong characters. My gritty, action-packed debut novel BLOOD POOL is available on Amazon http://amazon.com/dp/B00AR0XFX2 I'm working hard on my next novel, a sweeping tale of tragedy, vengeance and love that spans the European continent. Although I love writing thrillers, I'm more than willing to stray into other genres when reading. I'm looking forward to connecting with the other members of this group.
Hello everyone. I'm a new author and wrote, What to do before you say "I Do". I'm from Hamburg, a suburb of Buffalo, and new and confused here. Anyone that can offer me help would be appreciated. My facebook page is Susan Ziggy
Hi, all. I'm new to this group and have also just recently published my debut novel, Polar Night, which is a paranormal suspense story. I live in Cincinnati, Ohio and work as a librarian by day and a writer all the rest of the time. I love to read all types of genres, and even though I've been on Goodreads a while I'm still learning things about the site. I'm a huge animal lover and currently live with my dog and my cat. It's great to meet you all!
Just checking in, lots of new folks. Welcome! Brian, I have a twin brother. *s* J.E. your taste in books mirrors my own--I read and write thrillers and suspense stories. Julie, great to meet another pet lover--I also write nonfiction dog and cat care books (my LOST AND FOUND thriller has dog viewpoint *s*)Susan, what are you confused about? I'll help if I can. There's a LOT going on at GoodReads and I'm confused by so much of it, too.

Hello everyone I've missed! It amazes me how many folks join every day.Marci, as fun as that sounds, I think the trek from Florida might be a bit too far. :)
Hey! I am new here, I've been trying to learn and do for a few weeks, just now getting in here. I am a new author, my first book ever is "INIQUITOUS CONNECTIONS: The Dark"
I use the pen name J D Langston. It is an after WWII story with flashbacks during the war...PTSD is the horror that makes it come and go in waves. I am excited to be in this group and look forward to meeting and making new friends.
Hi, everyone!I'm Steven Lyle Jordan, and I've been an author of Futurist Fiction for the past twenty years. Having grown up during the Space Age, the Computer Age, the tail end of the Cold War and the beginnings of the Environmental Era have molded my views on science and technology and their place in society and the natural world, a perspective that I strive to bring across in my novels. I've officially given up on the flying car, but I do expect them to be self-driving (and fully electric) before I'm too old to drive myself.
You can buy my books at my books site, as well as at Amazon and Barnes & Noble. I also have a blog, a Facebook page and a Twitter feed, for those interested in following my progress in writing and promotion.
Finally, you can check me out at The Independent Authors Network and IndieTribe, other pages that showcase independent authors.
Lilith wrote: "Wow John - you must be a speed writer. You'll have to share you secrets!"well, its a book of short stories, so not as long as a novel., about 33K words. And, once inspired, I can sit and write a story straight through in about 2 days. editing adds some time to that. My only impediment is having a full time job and a family.
Also, once I get "into the zone" meaning I've figured out the writing voice I want to use for a particular story, it comes fairly quickly because I'm letting the story or character write themselves. I sort of "channel" them.
But, to be fair, a short story anthology format is very different from a novel, in that I can be working on all ten stories in random fashion as I hone them out. A linear novel is more demanding, and requires strict monitoring of plot as you go.

Hi guys,And greetings from Finland. Hum, what to tell... well, I'm 28 years old, love speculative fiction over all other genres. Whenever I have time I travel, but lately that hasn't been very much. I did take a two month escape to China last year though. I live in Helsinki with a couple of roommates.
Glad to meet you all, and up for any book recommendations you might have.
Greetings, and thank you for this wonderful group! My name is Dorothy Callahan, and I'm thrilled to share my debut novel Taming the Stallion, a contemporary romantic suspense, now available at B&N.com, Amazon.com, and itunes.com. Crimson Romance also bought a time travel romance from me, due to come out sometime late spring/early summer.
I am working on adding to my first story, making it a "shelter series" to support homeless animals. As a boon, a portion of proceeds from Taming go to my local humane society-- a wonderful shelter filled with fantastic people and pets.
I love writing and love feedback! Find me at dorothycallahan.com.
I would love a review posted here! Thanks again, for starting this group; what a great idea. :-)
Hi All!I've dipped my toes back into writing again after a break of nearly 20 years and am now fully remembering how much I love it.
I've recently released part 1 of a space-pulp-opera novella series type affair called Space Danger. It's really rather quite funny. Honest!
Nice to meet you all.
