Hi Eleonore, I think there is a short preview you can view on the publisher's website. In each case, it's basically the opening of the story - a bit of a teaser. The website is www.trafford.com and you can search within the website by just typing in "Train Flight Elizabeth Newton"

I'm excited that you're interested! :)

E. (toosparrow1) Hi I am ED

Just wanted to introduce myself

I write children books and have just launched my first of series of picture books for 4-8 years old about a Sparrow hatchling called "Too"

I wanted to join this group so I can share books which I think are perfect to "gossip" about.

I am not interested in author bashing so your never hear that from me but I will certainly look to "harp" on about books which inspire me and catch my "eye"! while being supportive to "us" fellow authors.

I look forward to interacting with all of you.

Regards ED

L.S. Dubbleyew | 2 comments By way of introduction, my name is Larry Weiner (pen name L.S. Dubbleyew,) and I have a weak-spot for retellings of fairy tales and folklore. I've just self-published my first novel, Before The Poisoned Apple, the first in my Brave Tales of Seven Little Men series. The first book is complete and I am writing the second. I anticipate a minimum of four books in this series. I compare my story to the scope and spirit of The Lord of the Rings trilogy.

Here's my pitch:

Long before they saved Snow White, the seven little men, who are brothers, lived an extraordinary life of battles and wonder.

In the back-end of time, two scrolls were created― one for the lands and one for the skies. Those written words hold all worldly mysteries; they reveal all secrets. With those words, eternal domination can be had. And She who wrote them, hid them. Because the greatest evil seeks them. Ultimately, it is the fate of the seven little men to save the scrolls.

The world I've created is vastly beautiful and terrifically deadly. In the bewitched land within The Reach, there are dragon-elves, witches, many types of ogres and monsters, and Kings. It is a world of evil castles holding deadly spirits. Where demons ride lightning and mountains can move. Where blood-trolls lurk deep in the ground. And below them...still deeper terrors lie.

Beginning with their parents being saved by the dragon-elves from certain death, the story flows through the boys birth into their early lives. Unknown to the family are villainous, and unearthly beings, that not only need something the family has, but want the boys dead. Their world is most prominently filled with a man named Angus Grimsdyke, who pretends to be kind, but destroys all.

And there is a prophecy. That 'the seven shall save all.' A prophecy ordained at the beginning of time. This book culminates with overlapping battles where loved ones are lost, and the ever-changing face of evil is only partly conquered, leading into the next book, which partly focuses on the origin and history of one of the most powerful objects ever created...the magic mirror.

The thrust of the series is one of family survival and loyalty. And ultimately, this is about characters known and loved by many, but whose tale has never been told. Until now.

The story grows with each book, as their tale doesn't end with the princess whose skin is as white as snow.

I thank anyone for their time, thoughts and comments. Please visit my website lsdubbleyew.com and my facebook page lsdubbleyew.com for current happenings and discussions. Before the Poisoned Apple

Marina Latcko | 17 comments Hello everyone,

I am Marina Latcko from Russia, an English teacher with a strong desire to turn into a writer. My lifelong education, reading and real life experience had given me so many topics to share and the urge to do it that I just couldn't carry on with a reader's role anymore; I was totally overwhelmed with the knowledge I wanted to impart in a novel for young adults. I wrote the book I would have been happy to read in my teen years and even now in my late 30th.
Being rather remote from my target audience (English-speaking readers), I have certain difficulty in accumulating the book's readership or just friends who could review my work.
That is why I'm addressing you, dear authors and readers, to help me evaluate what I've done.
Any of your assistance would be much appreciated!
Marina Latcko,
Author, Aurora: Secrets behind Reality

I just published my first novel, a French Quarter Mystery. Had a few sales. Now awaiting a first review.

Covergal | 1 comments Hi, I am a writer/journalist, and I am working on an outline for a fiction book. I have been working on that outline for a long, long time. Perhaps my ancestors will publish it. ;)

For the last 13 years or so I made my living designing book covers and own http://www.BookCoverExpress.com and we just added http://www.eBookCoverExpress.com a while ago, to focus specifically on eBooks that are not also going to be in print.

I have been doing a lot of genealogy research, and have managed to trace one branch of my family back to about 1600. I can actually get back further, but there's a document gap and I'm not having much luck getting over it.

Hi Mike,

That's so familiar :) the answer to the writer's block is the change of scenes; preferably going to some unvisited place, or just reading something else in your genre. Your story will fight its way out if it's a really worthy story. Don't hurry, if you need a month to figure out what should be next, then let it.

My book took 10 months to unveil itself, with one month off on Corfu :)

Good luck!

uhmm, actually no, when the theories were being introduced to us, they were equally distributed. So maybe your husband was asked to focus on deconstruction rather than focusing equally to the rest of the theories. Sooner or later, we will be asked to choose among the theories as our specialization and maybe at that time, I, too, will encounter the same problem.

And if I may suggest, try making your husband watch movies that will capture his interest and maybe he could prevent himself from deconstructing it. just a try :) thanks for asking my opinion though i'm still learning

Florence Witkop | 79 comments Hi, I've been a member for a couple weeks and thought I introduced myself but I can't find my intro so here goes. Or here goes again. I've been writing anonymously for more years than I should admit to. Confession magazines, ghost writing, copy-writing, editing and literary magazines. Mostly romances, some sci-fi, fantasy and paranormal. Now I'm going public and e-publishing, which is great. No word counts, no strict guidelines, I can cross genres all I want. But the marketing sucks. It's hard!
My latest novel is Spirit Legend and it's about a couple (employer and employee) who set off to find a lake in the wilds of the North Woods that legend says is home to a spirit. They find the lake. And they find the spirit. Then they are stranded and must not only survive but must deal with a spirit that sings, lights up the sky and wants to communicate with them.

Hello, everyone. I'm Alexandra, and I live in the sunny state of Florida, in the US. I write Young Adult, New Adult, and Adult fiction, usually with a focus on Fantasy or Sci-Fi (or any of their sub-genres), though I love Poetry, and write some Contemporary, too. I'm self-published, and have a few series going.

Aside from publishing and writing, I enjoy art (I usually do my own covers), and chatting with friends about books. I also like typing up screenplays, and visiting local craft shows.

Looking forward to chatting with you all!

Hi -- I started my novel when I was between jobs; I got a job and the novel went on the shelf. Eventually I wrote it on the commuter bus. It absolutely came in fits and starts. It is also a good thing to take a vacation from writing every now and then. You have to be fresh, not angry at your book. Good luck. Martha Johnson
