I am Athina and I am a new member here. Let me introduce myself.

I have self-published a short story for all ages, titled THE ANGEL OF CHRISTMAS (here is the link for Amazon goo.gl/GIuVe and for Goodreads goo.gl/S1Ysz). I have written an adventure/crime novel, titled DAZED, but I am in editing process before I can be able to self-publish it too and now I am finishing my second novel which is a YA fantasy. (Here is my blog if you want to find out more http://between-my-lines.blogspot.gr/ )

Michael Hibbard (arkangyl) | 5 comments Greetings!

My name is Michael Hibbard, and I write contemporary fantasy. I've actually been developing a completely new perspective of our collective reality which posits that the universe is nothing more than a Waking Dream. I've pretty much spent the last 15 years working researching world religions, studying philosophy/theology to come up with an unified dogma for the world, as well as studying what we know and do not know about the structure of our universe, Quantum theory, string theory and cosmology. It is my hope that my books will blur the line between fiction and non-fiction.

I have self-published two novels through Amazon, Nook and Google Books, as well as Createspace for physical copies. I have decided that I would rather have a 70% royalty on my work, rather than 6% going through the normal channels. Personally, I believe we are at the age of indie publishing, just as we are seeing in the film industry.

You can read all about my Waking Dream universe at http://www.wakingdreamonline.com

Any comments, thoughts or criticisms are very welcome, because I think we all are always looking for ways to improve our craft.

Looking forward to being a member of this group!

Hi Vincent, what a great group to join, thanks to you.

Currently rewriting & editing my second book 'Fishes n wishes n wings n things' Which is almost ready to leave the nest.

Jolina Petersheim (jolina_joy) | 1 comments Hi!

My name's Jolina Petersheim. I was born in Lancaster, PA, to parents sharing a Plain heritage, but raised near Nashville, TN. My debut novel, 'The Outcast' -- a modern retelling of 'The Scarlet Letter' set in an Old Order Mennonite community -- debuts on July 1st of this year.

I can't wait to share more news with you about giveaways and reviews. This is the first "Amish fiction" published by Tyndale. If you read Rachel's unique story, I think you'll know why Tyndale waited to publish a Plain story until now!

Best,
Jolina

E.J. Jackson (elainejenny) | 7 comments Hello - I'm Elaine. I'm 54 and after a life-time of loving to read (science-fiction, thriller/mystery/detective/police-procedural, factual/humour in the main...) and several years writing fan-fiction, I finally took the plunge and am close to self-publishing my first novel, 'All Our Tomorrows', a contemporary/dystopian romance.

As far as I'm concerned, there simply aren't enough hours in the day to read and/or write!

Jeremy Benson | 3 comments Hey, I'm Jeremy Benson. I've just released 'The Piranet' on Amazon.ca for Kindle. It's my internet piracy research in a nut shell. Did you know that internet service providers can, and have tracked, much of the Internets use, and that many of them are starting to work with governments and groups to crack down on internet piracy?

http://www.amazon.ca/The-Piranet-eboo...

I've written this book to help people survive the net seas, amongst the confusing little known details, to the malicious folks who would wish ill will.

Aside from writing my projects, I'm also a web master at my site :)

I live in Halifax Nova Scotia, and love writing!

Hope that all is well with members here, and I truly hope to enjoy getting to know people.

Carolina (carolinasl) | 2 comments Hello, I'm Carolina. I read a lot. Not as much as I want to, but when I have the chance. I buy my handbags based on whether a book will fit in them. I've always been drawn to Fantasy by authors such as Sara Douglass and David Eddings. But in my bookshelves you'll find anything; Sara Douglass - Nicholas Sparks - Charlaine Harris - Jane Austen - Elisabeth Kostova - Frances Mayes - Paul Auster. I usually say that the one genre I'm completely clueless in is crime. I just haven't fallen down that rabbithole yet.

Stumbling upon Goodreads and this group made my day. Great initiative Vincent! Also a big thumbs up to everyone making the group seem like so much fun! I hope to explore it further after introducing myself.

Also, someday soon, I'd like to start writing.

The query/rejection process is all part of the "fun" of being a writer! You earn a badge of honor! Don't miss it! Sometimes you get some really good feedback which is invaluable. Do you have a strong critique partner or group to vet your manuscript before indie publishing? Again, invaluable! Good luck!

Alex Marestaing | 13 comments Hi All,

My name is Alex Marestaing and I mostly write middle grade/YA fiction. In the past I've written for mainstream media outlets like Disney, Thomas Nelson, Los Angeles Times etc., but for my new book, "I'm Nobody", I've decided to go the indie route, which is totally new to me. So even though I've published before, I'm going to need all the help I can get on this new adventure. My main struggle with the publishing business is that I'm a writer, not a marketer or spammer, so I'm always wishing for a world where good stories are enough.
