Barrymore Tebbs (barrymoretebbs) | 3 comments Greetings, I'm Barrymore Tebbs writer of psychological Gothic fiction. I have two novels and three novellas under my belt.I tend to write in two eras, the late 1960s and the late Victorian/early Edwardian era in England.

I was a big fan of horror fiction throghout the 70s and 80s. I "grew up" with Stephen King. Today, my reading taste is mostly for Psyhcological Thrillers. I find the characers in Psychological Thrillers and crime fiction more fully realized than in horror.

John Podlaski (pdogg) | 56 comments Hello all!

My name is John Podlaski, author of "Cherries - a Vietnam War Novel. I've been on Goodreads off and on during the last year and have not officially introduced myself. "Cherries" is my first published book and I've been marketing it for the last two years...writing is much, much easier!

"Cherries" is about my tour as an infantry soldier during the Vietnam War as seen through the eyes of my protagonist, John Kowalski. Ever wonder why soldiers return home "different" after a deployment to a war zone? Cherries is a story about the rite of passage that all young soldiers undertake when experiencing war for the first time. Although the setting for Cherries is Vietnam, the author’s experiences, emotions, and tragedies are not only confined to that war – they are repeated in every conflict. Readers of my novel have commented that Cherries should be read by students, siblings of those who have served, and by the parents of those soldiers serving today. After finishing Cherries, they’ll have a better understanding of why those who go away to war come home “changed”. All veterans will relate to Cherries – either in part or in whole!

My wife and I reside in Sterling Heights, MI...she works for a grocery chain and I work for an automotive supplier. It is hoped that we can both retire next summer and begin traveling the US.

Helen Laycock (helenlaycock) | 131 comments Well, hello there, everyone!

It seems I am three years too late in finding this forum. How it's escaped me, I don't know!

Well, now I've finally arrived, I shall introduce myself.

I am a British writer with eleven books under my belt. Ten of these are available for Kindle; eight of those are for children and two are collections of short stories for adults. Of the eight children's books, seven are fiction (mostly mystery) and one is a humorous poetry collection.

I am a member of an online writing group and I enjoy writing competitions. I recently finished my eleventh book, another children's story, and I am working on two more short story collections for adults as well as a poetry anthology. On the backburner is my first thriller and I have written an autobiography purely to pass onto my children.

I love to read, of course, my favourite genre being thrillers. My favourite authors are Linwood Barclay and Tess Gerritsen.

I look forward to exploring this forum and finding lots of exciting new material!

Randy Attwood (randyatwood) | 96 comments This is really a re-introduction done in hopes of attracting readers who love the art of the letterpress. I'm an author in Kansas City and have teamed up with a local printmaker and artist and we have a kickstarter project to turn one of my novellas into a printed book using his letterpress. If successful, we will also use a local bindery. Thought this might be of interest to you and your friends. http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/6...

I am Joshua Bonilla. My genre is action/adbenture fiction. I focus on teens and young adult books.

I put out my first book last month. I wrote it in about three weeks and after massive editing and cover art, it launched!

So far, it has gone "okay". I went all the way to #1 on science fiction action with select day (Free).

The reviews so far are pretty good. I hope to have the next book in the sequel out before the end of the year.

message 3729: by Dustin (new)

Dustin Hill | 8 comments Hello. I'm Dustin Hill, and I'm pleased to be a new member of this group. I'm a fan of both political fiction and nonfiction, with a particular emphasis on economic matters. I'm currently reading Robert Samuleson's The Great Inflation, and have on my to-read-list Currency Wars. I believe manipulation of financial markets and national economies are the new weapons of mass destruction.

In my day job, I'm a political and business reporter for a U.S.-based news organization. I'm also a published author. My new book is The Chinese Banker, a piece of political fiction about a Chinese plot to ravage the U.S. economy. But I promise I won't use this group to try to sell my book. (Or at least not too much.) As my publisher can tell you, marketing isn't my strong suit. (Though I will post something about the book in the group's general fiction section for new books because I guess that's how you market yourself these days.)

I'm still finding my way around Goodreads, and looking for friends. I add almost any new friend, so if you are interested please send me a friend request.

Thanks,
Dustin

I love reading middle-grade fiction, light fantasy, historical fiction....Middle grade is my favorite, though, and that's what I've written in. My first book The Discoveries of Arthur Grey: The Society's Traitor is finally out and about. Since I'm new here, I'm hoping some folks will take pity on me--maybe 'friend' me and reveal any must-knows about being on Goodreads! Cheers, all.

I love reading, and have a pair of self-published epic fantasy books available on Amazon (The Soul Sphere). I'll post some detail in the Fantasy section of this group for those that might be interested.

My reading interests are fairly broad: favorite fiction authors are J.R.R. Tolkien, Stephen King, and Charles Dickens. For non-fiction, I particularly enjoy books on the American Civil War.

Looking forward to participating with the group. Thanks!

Hi folks.

I write books, mostly. Sometimes I write short stories, but I find that lately they end up turning into books whether I like it or not. My first novel A Latent Dark is getting some good reviews and I have a bio-horror novel coming out either late this year or early next year.

Currently I am elbow deep in the sequel to ALD and that will probably end up becoming a trilogy.

In my day job I test video games for a living.

Pleased to meet you all.

-MK
