My name is Robert W Sweeting and I love to write. I wrote a Middle Grade Southern Fantasy, Kekaju and the Hidden Swamp. You can get the feel for the book at my blog, http://rejectionletterguy.blogspot.com/
Hello,My name is Daulton. I've been viewing this group from time to time and thought I would take the time now to officially join. I published a non-fiction book of political and philosophical essays entitled, "A Combat of Crazes: Thoughts on Reality in the Wake of the Economic Crisis." Currently, it's available as an ebook on Amazon, but I'm hoping to expand soon to paperback.
I'm looking for anyone interested in reviewing the book. I'm willing to "gift" you a free copy via Amazon. Contact me if you're interested.
Thanks.
Hello all!My name is Missy and I am an american born author living in North Florida. I have been writing for most of my life, mainly poetry and music. I have only just started novel writing, and I am happy to say that my first novel The Sword and The Prophet, is available now as an ebook and paperback book.
I'm 32 years old, a former military police officer, mother of two, fiancé to one, and human parent to a very lazy dog named Buddy. My main passions in life are my kids, writing, reading, and just enjoying every day that I have.
My favorite authors are Sherrilyn Kenyon and Nora Roberts. I primarily read romance, horror, thrillers, and suspense fiction. I have an extensive library, and only have about 1/4 of my books on my shelves that I actually have.
I also do book reviews (in the categories above) and would be more than happy to read your book if I'm interested in it.
Pleasure to meet y'all.

I'm Louis Shosty. I write under the pen name L. Joseph Shosty and have a page here on Goodreads. I mostly write science fiction, fantasy, and horror, though I do write in other genres, as well. I've published two novels, one currently available, the other lost to time and the endless corridors of cyberspace, and a short story collection, which is out of print.Though I'm here to promote my own work, I'm equally interested in networking with other readers. My tastes are eclectic and not at all limited to what I write.

Hello all,My name is Mackenzie Crowne. I was raised in a small town north of Boston, but the southwest owns my heart. I've lived in Phoenix for several decades with the love of my life, where we raised two rambunctious boys into fine men.
A brush with breast cancer kicked my butt into working toward realizing my dream of sharing my stories with others. Four years later, I'm happy to report I'm not only a survivor, but a newly published author.
Gift of the Realm, a fantasy romance and my debut title, is listed here on Goodreads and That Dating Thing, a lighthearted contemporary romance is due out this June.
I look forward to making your acquaintance.

Good morning!I'm quite new to Goodreads, very new to this group, and have only just noticed this thread.
I live in the north east of England, have two books on Amazon and another one coming out THIS WEEK (nerve wracking or WHO!). I won't tell you all about them or me in this message, because you'll click on my page if you're interested, anyway, I guess!
I love the indie author community - it seems to be a particularly supportive one. I'm more than happy to interact with anyone and everyone.

Hello! I'm Sean. I trained as a barrister, but found that applying the skills for amusement in fiction was just as rewarding. I write crime novels which feature an unusual twist - either legally, forensically or logistically. My debut ebook has been on Amazon for a little over a week, and I'd love it if you checked out a free preview.Dead on Demand

Hi, I'm Tim from England (a few miles outside of Oxford to be more precise), and I've just started writing my first ever novel. So far I'm really enjoying it, despite having no real clue what I'm doing, although of course I've read up lots, and had all kinds of "good advice" (including "don't do it!")...

I've written about 12 over the years.... when I first started there was no internet and hardly any books to tell me how to do it, I just wrote - but I think you learn things as you go along. If you're on Twitter, follow a chap called Scott Bury (Scott The Writer) - actually, I think he's on my friends list on here, too. He writes very good articles with the best writing tips I've seen. Some of them are very basic and you may think, as I do, "hmm, well if people don't know THAT they perhaps ought to go back to school", but there's lots of good stuff, too.
Hello, everyone. I'm Jaye Frances, the author of the paranormal-occult romance novel "The Kure," the first book in "The Kure" series, and "The Possibilities of Amy," a coming-of-age story of high school romance. I just recently released (last week!) my new romantic comedy "The Cruise - All That Glitters," about a bachelor taking his first cruise and finding himself in more than a few unexpected situations. My upcoming works include "The Beach," a sci-fi fantasy about a man who is given the opportunity to receive his ultimate wish and lives to regret it, and "Journeys From Above and Below the Belt," a collection of adult short stories, both scheduled for a Summer 2012 release. I'm also a featured columnist for the NUSA SUN magazine.
I was born in the Midwest, and readily admit that my life’s destination has been the result of an open mind and a curiosity about all things irreverent. When I'm not consumed by my writing, I enjoy cooking, traveling to all places tropical and “beachy” and taking pictures—lots of pictures—many of which find their way to my website. I live on the central gulf coast of Florida, sharing my home with one husband, six computers, four cameras, and several hundred pairs of shoes.
For more information about my background, adventures and meanderings, I hope you'll visit my website at www.jayefrances.com, and my blog (Jaye’s Blog) at http://blog.jayefrances.com

Hello AllMy name is Roderick Davis and I have just released my first book called The Tower Falling. If you like a slice of sci fi/comedy then it might be for you.
I'm from Wales.
I'm Tim. I just self-published my first book in kindle and nook format. It's a horror/paranormal-action book that has been well-recieved by Readers Favorite. I'm banging around in this new world, and will probably watch from the sidelines until I figure out what I'm doing.

My name is Jackie. I'm a high school teacher by day and a closet author. I've published one book and I am working on a second, though with everything else I do it is difficult to find the time to actually sit down and write for more than a couple of hours a week. I am hoping with school recently out for summer I will be able to get more writing done!

Hi there,I'm Dimitri, I'm Geek-American but live in Greece (sigh). I studied at Brown U. and Harvard, I work as a Chief financial analyst but passionately devote my spare time to writing suspense romance fiction and poetry.
I have a question:
I'm ready to do a giveaway in order to obtain reviews on GReads. For timing reasons I can only give paperbacks. How many books should I give away, $ is not a problem, I'm the new Onassis of Greece (ha-ha, wish I were).
Thanks for your help,

Hey all, my name is Jenn Flynn-Shon and I am an Author of fiction novels as well as an avid blogger. I should get it out there right off the bat that my writing is not in the currently trendy style of dystopian societies full of vampires and no one over 18. Or something like that. I'm a plucky love story writer and enjoy happy, pappy, sappy crap. Happy endings are a must in my books. :-) But of course life isn't always sunshine and roses so I try to inject real into the stories of my friend's love lives. Real life issues & problems; real struggles both internally and externally. And by "friends" of course I mean characters...or as all you other Authors know, the people who live inside my head :-) My work is fiction.
Most of my fiction would be considered Chick-Lit. I've been writing this style of independent gal who finds love for over 25 years now and, even though I may have missed the big wave of the official release of the genre a few years ago, I don't plan to stop writing & releasing novels in this genre anytime soon.
My first book, "Ripple the Twine" was just self-published last month and is getting some really positive feedback. Nothing cooler than that let me tell ya. :-) The support has been awesome.
Anyway, thanks for posting this so everyone has an opportunity to connect over here, off to read some other intros :-) yes, I completely overuse emoticons.

I like to think I also write with depth, as well, though! Nice to meet you x
I see why they did that Terry, especially with "Wish" - all female lead characters overcoming something very important & personal. But I also agree with you that the content isn't really Chick-Lit in the standard definition of the genre. Maybe it's an Upmarket/Chick-Lit hybrid or something :-) Though I will say that Chick-Lit doesn't always mean light & breezy, there's a lot of Authors who tackle tougher issues. The formula for the genre has changed significantly in recent years. Depth is welcomed & celebrated even!Happy to connect over here!
Hi guysI'm Steve. I'm an enthusiastic reader and an aspiring writer. (Not a perspiring writer. That would be unpleasant. But then blood, sweat and tears form an important part of the writing process!)
Anyway. Enough about sweat.
I'm working on a book series about teenage superheroes in the UK (we have a shortage of them over here). It's called Class Heroes. First book was published in October 2011, the next one is being proof-read by my wife as we speak/type.
I like reading action/thriller books, such as Lee Child, Ken Follett, Michael Crichton. And I'm also partial to good science fiction classics, like John Wyndham.
Cheers
Steve
hi, I'm Susan Buchanan and I indie published my first novel Sign of the Times on Amazon in March. Genre - contemporary women's fiction, although quite frankly there's quite a lot in there for blokes too! I am now working on my second novel, The Dating Game, due out in Dec 2012. I also have a further two books planned, just need to find the time. I like reading contemporary fiction, crime, legal thrillers, romance and chick lit. Looking forward to chatting with you all. Sooz

Hi Steve, nice to meet you here. For a sec when i read your post, I thought you meant we had a shortage of super heroes in the UK and I was thinking you were dead right! But yes, don't see many superhero books by UK authors and who's to say the USA has to have them all! Good luck. Read my first Lee Child recently and although it took me a good while to get into (all the army speak), enjoyed it and I love Michael Crichton and was very upset to hear he was actually dead. Couldn't work this out as Micro came out end of last year, but assume must have just been lying around...Sooz

I'm new to goodreads and just learning the ropes. I have just written a book review for the first time in my life. Glad I found the group and look forward to taking part in the discussions. Peter.
I am Jean Mead, author of The Widow Makers and The Widow Makers:Strife, historical fictions based in 19th century North Wales. The third book in the trilogy is in the pipe-line.
My most recent book is Freya 800 AD. A Viking book written from the perspective of a woman, though it is far from being a domestic tale. Whilst writing the final page, almost to my surprise, a new character came to light who is hard to ignore. I expect my next book will be his story.
I also write short stories for magazines. The next publication in is Yours Magazine on May 29th.
I live in North Wales with my husband. Our spare time is spent sailing Ruby, a Gibsea 372, around the Welsh coast, Ireland, Scotland and Brittany.
I'm on facebook, jeanmeadauthor. My website is www.jeanmead.com where I post reviews and news.

I'm Mark, I'm 34 (and clinging on to it) and live in the far southwest of England. I work in marketing where my main skill is in ... copywriting ... I always have a book on the go and I also love the outdoors, genealogy, food and gardens - all of which feature in my written work.
My first novel evokes a very English view of all those things and is now available on Kindle. But I'm here to think and talk about books of all kinds, and to meet new people so I look forward to making lots of new connections amongst you soon.
