M. Bell | 3 comments Hi — I’m new to Goodreads as an author, though not new to storytelling.
The Last Gesture is my debut novel — a quiet story about grief, memory, and the choices that echo.
It’s told through the silences of a woman who says little, but sees everything.
I’ve just posted a short reflection on my author blog: Some Stories Don’t Shout.
Would love to connect with readers who lean into emotional realism and cinematic restraint.

Thio Moss | 5 comments Hi! I'm Thio, and I am a newly minted author. My urban fantasy novel, Blind Spot: The Covenant's Forfeit, comes out in a few weeks. It follows practitioner Kenny Jones in a contemporary world where those who can manipulate magic have to hide from the powers that be - the Community and, more specifically, the warlocks of the Agency of Preternatural Affairs.

I strongly relate to Liza, up a few spaces here, who has trouble making herself visible and would prefer to stay home with tea and a book. That sounds perfect! Maybe add in a scone.

I'm from Kansas City, Missouri. I've worked in a variety of fields - retail, insurance, pottery - but writing has been a dream since I was five and listened to my dad's stories. Now, I'm constantly writing while my cat, Titan, keeps me company.

I am also an avid reader, preferring urban fantasy, fantasy, sci-fi, and mysteries with a thread of romance.

It's great to find a community to share this journey with!

Daren (darentaylor) | 2 comments Hey friends, my name is Daren and I am new to Goodreads. I spent a career in healthcare taking care of others, and finally am able to chase my dream of telling stories. I finished the book I’ve worked on for quite a while and it is free on Amazon.

The book is a coming of age, Epic fantasy novel with some alternative history and a dab of mythology thrown in for good measure. The hero, Jebediah Kane, a 16 year old boy descended from an ancient Roman family and one of the Great Houses of Terra, is away at boarding school when the apocalypse begins.

Now, Jeb must get home by midnight to survive and that’s only the first of many challenges he will face. Jeb will befriend Gods, battle primordial powers and just maybe, have the courage to tell the girl he is crushing on how he feels.

The book is the 1st in a series, it is 100000 words, and it is free in Amazon

Convergence: The War Against the Heavens

Here is a blurb:

The First War of Existence waged for eons, and mighty forces clashed across the universe with a level of ferocity and violence that seemed unimaginable by mortals and Gods alike. Stars imploded, solar systems were swept into oblivion, and entire galaxies teetered on the brink of extinction.

Jeb never expected to hear his family's code words for an impending apocalypse. He was in his dorm room, playing video games and working up the courage to ask the girl of his dreams on a date, when his uncle called. When he answered the phone, his uncle said, "Broken Arrow!" Then his uncle told Jeb that his survival depended on getting home by midnight.

Suddenly, the stress of high school didn't matter anymore. The clock was ticking, the stakes were higher, and the risks of not making curfew meant more than being grounded or doing extra chores. Getting home on time was only the first of many battles Jeb would face as fate forced him to fight for his survival in an ancient war that had been waged since the beginning of time.

Nothing happens by accident. Jeb's family and bloodline held secrets, and if Jeb survived the battles to come, he would discover who he was and what part he would play in the survival of all enlightened beings.

Old enemies were stirring, and there were vast forces on the move as battle lines were once again drawn between the Powers and the Gods. Throughout the multiverse, heroes would rise, empires would fall, and a war for the survival of all beings in existence would start again.

Steel sharpens steel, through conflict there is strength, and only through strength can one survive.

M. Bell | 3 comments The Last Gesture by M. Rowan Bell
• One rating. Three shelves. One friend.
• No reviews yet. Just a quiet signal: someone read it — and gave it five stars.
• The Last Gesture is my debut. It’s not loud. It’s built on aftermath.
• If you’ve shelved it, thank you. If you’re curious, it’s here:

Andrew Beardmore | 6 comments Hi, Andrew Beardmore here, fantasy author and belated discoverer of Goodreads groups!

My new tetralogy, The Nessemiah (Halsgrove Publishing), was launched earlier this year:

Book 1: The Strains of Malice: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...
Book 2: Cold Sanctuary: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...

Struggling to gain friends and followers on Goodreads (you are all very welcome), but I have had some great reviews from respected sources:

"An authentic and well-developed epic fantasy world with lots of heroes to root for and villains to dislike. It reminds me of ‘A Song of Ice and Fire’. Prince Magnus certainly gives Joffrey a run for his money!’ -- LoveReading

"Andrew Beardmore is a fantastic storyteller with a penchant for meticulous details. He crafts a world so humanistically flawed and tremendously intriguing." -- onlinebookclub.org

Andrew Beardmore’s “The Strains of Malice” is a sweeping and sophisticated debut that merges human frailty, political intrigue, and cosmic mystery into one masterfully interwoven tale. Rich in atmosphere and brimming with moral complexity, this first instalment lays the groundwork for what promises to be an epic saga of destiny and defiance. -- Pratibha Malav, Book Reviewer

Evanjellen | 2 comments Hi, I am Evanjellen, author of 'Star Evolution', a sci-fi fantasy story designed to transcend genres and conventions.
I released the first book about two and half months ago and I plan on releasing many, many more light novels, that's the format I write in. I don't have an exact number but I plan on writing at least 35+ light novels. There's alot of story to go through.

I don't plan on aiming for a publisher, the nature and themes of my story are rather subversive so I doubt that fly over well. I already have a number of great reviews on first volume.
