C. De | 3 comments Greetings to my fellow writers and readers! I'm C. De Koninck and I am the autistic author the Camp Erehwon series, husband, father, and small businessman. My first self-published novel, Monsters of Camp Erehwon placed Silver in the 2023 Nautilus Book Awards. The sequel, Ghosts of Camp Erehwon, is completed as well. I am currently working on the next two books in the series, which I anticipate will stretch to six or seven novels. Being autistic, it is hard to meet and be social so I am hoping to find at least a few people out there who would be willing to read my work and provide feedback and even criticism. Both novels are available on Amazon, Monsters of Camp Erehwon is also available in a different format at IngramSpark. I am also hoping to get a few leads on cover artwork, since I have been forced to do my own thus far.

Deborah Ann (darkmatterrevealed) | 1 comments My name is Deborah, and I am an author of a fantasy trilogy--The Butterfly Prophecy Series which is featured on Goodreads. I am also the author of a psychological thriller, The Onion Murder, now being queried. I write character-driven fantasy that blends myth, romance, and prophecy. Think lyrical prose, slow-burn relationships, and immortal characters with very human flaws. My stories explore the emotional and moral struggles of characters caught in impossible situations—often with a touch of romance, a prophecy, and a secret society or two. Excited to be here to discover new reads!

Andrea LeDew | 2 comments Hello my name is Andrea LeDew. I am an avid reader and I have published a book recently, Polemics: Political Poems & Prose. I am still working on getting an author page set up.

Polemics is a collection for patriotic liberals, those in the US who still love their country but hate what is being done to it. By reading this book, you can better understand how we got to this place and what we should do from here.

Polemics covers the years from 2016 to April of 2025 and recounts, with material written at the time, each controversial political event as a poem, essay, or short story. I have also included introductory material for each piece, since not all of us have photographic memories for political events. (Me, least of all!)

I am from Jacksonville Florida. My background includes an education in English lit and law, travel to Germany for ten months, a few years working as a lawyer, and many years of motherhood and homeschooling. I have run a blog for about ten years and have had exposure to disability issues throughout the lifespan, thanks to one of my children who has autism and IDD. I have a novel in progress.

The book that I am currently reading is a collection of Hannah Arendt's writings. She is a Jewish exile from Germany who commented extensively on what happened during WWII, especially the phenomenon by which Germany ended up committing unspeakable atrocities against their Jewish population and those in nations they conquered. I am in the middle of her writings on Eichmann's trial, which I know are controversial. The reading is difficult and arduous but very enlightening, and seems to speak loudly to our times.

Normally, I love mysteries especially of the BBC variety, well-written, meaty novels, and economic and political history. My TBR stack has a million local writers, as well as some social commentary such as can be found in recent books by Chris Hayes and Ezra Kline. I am also a big fan of Victorian literature. Look forward to interacting here.

message 22463: by Deanna (new)

Deanna LaForce (deannalaforceauthor) | 4 comments Hi, I'm Deanna LaForce. By day, I'm a registered nurse, usually in the chaos of an ER. By night, and in just about every moment in between, I'm a writer.

To be honest, I feel like a bit of an unlikely author. My stories aren't born in a quiet study; they're born from the front lines. They come from the thousands of hours I’ve spent witnessing the real, human cost of the crises we often only talk about in whispers... addiction, trauma, and the ways our systems can fail the most vulnerable. Writing became my way of processing the things I couldn't leave at the hospital.

That's where my first series, The Lotus Mark, came from. It's a dark, gritty thriller series that explores the underbelly of drug trafficking and exploitation. It was my attempt to make sense of the nightmares I've seen. At the end of each book, I've included "Nurses Notes," which is my way of stepping out of the story to provide real, science-backed information and resources on the topics in the novels.

On the other end of the spectrum is my HARSH series. I loved "Choose Your Own Adventure" books when I was young, and I wanted to create that same fun experience to help teens navigate the tough lessons our parents sometimes don't tell us. These interactive books tackle everything from financial literacy... like credit scores and interest fees... to the pressures of social media, giving young readers a safe place to make mistakes and learn from them.

All of this comes together under my persona, RNTROOPER. It's my way of blending my life as a nurse with my passion for education. My big, slightly crazy dream is to eventually cosplay as RNTROOPER at conventions and hospitals, giving away free educational books to kids.

Ultimately, I'm just a nurse who believes in the power of stories. Whether it's through a dark thriller or a fun adventure, my goal is the same: to start a conversation, to share a little bit of what I've learned from the front lines, and to maybe, just maybe, help someone out there feel a little less alone.

Thank you so much for being here and taking the time to read <3

ERNESTO CANELLI | 1 comments Hi to you all, I am Ernesto, from Italy, I run a couple of Companies in the Design sector. I love meeting new friends and listening to stories.

I wrote my first book together with my friend Uchechi, a Nigerian Lady. We e-met in Linkedin.

Our book is "Wisdom Beyond Borders - Nigerian Proverbs for Life and Business", an extraordinary journey through Nigeria's culture, philosophy, and age-old wisdom, interwoven with modern and universal reflections.

It is already in Amazon, here is the link here in this platform:
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...

Each proverb within these pages is a gem of wisdom, a teaching that transcends words to become a practical guide for facing the challenges of life, business, and personal growth.

The book is divided into chapters, each dedicated to a Nigerian proverb, accompanied by an explanation of its meaning and practical applications in three key business, marketing, and personal growth. We tried to use an engaging narrative style, transforming ancient wisdom into modern tools for navigating today's complex world.

Wisdom Beyond Borders is not just a book, but an experience. It is an opportunity to immerse yourself in Nigeria's cultural richness and discover how its teachings can illuminate our path worldwide. It's a text that inspires, challenges, and comforts, reminding us that, regardless of where we come from, wisdom is a universal language that connects us all.

Whether you're looking to improve yourself, build an authentic business, or navigate the complexities of marketing, this book will offer you valuable guidance, a beacon of wisdom that transcends time and space.

I am sure you can enjoy it.

Vezirxan Guluyev (vezirxancom) | 5 comments Hello dear friends,
I’m a new author, just beginning my journey in the world of writing. After months of pouring my heart and soul into words, I finally published my very first romantic novel on Amazon titled “Echoes of the Heart.”

This book is deeply personal — it’s about love, pain, and the silent emotions we often carry alone. As a new writer, I currently have no reviews or ratings on Amazon, and Goodreads hasn’t yet verified me as an official author.

That’s why I’m reaching out to you with a humble request:
If you have a moment, please take a look at my book. Even a short review or a single star rating would mean the world to me and help others discover my story.

📖 You can read a free sample here:

If the story touches you, your support — even in the smallest way — would truly encourage me to keep writing. Thank you from the bottom of my heart! ❤️

Rowan | 2 comments Hello, I'm Rowan.
I recently published a book called:
THE MINDFULNESS BOOK FOR ADULTS WHO CAN’T SWITCH OFF
I didn’t write this book to inspire.
I wrote it because I needed to understand the war going on in my own head.
The quiet kind — overthinking, spirals, self-doubt, endless “what ifs” at 3 a.m.
If you’ve ever lived more in your mind than in your life,
if you know what it’s like to hold yourself together with invisible threads,
this one might speak to you.
It’s not shiny.
It’s not a guidebook.
But it’s real. And it’s written for people who are tired of pretending they’re fine when they’re not.
If you’re curious, here it is:

Ali Zamir | 4 comments Hello guys,

As someone who wrote his debut novel at the age of 58, I carry within me a mix of emotions. On one hand, there’s a quiet sense of personal fulfillment—of having accomplished something deeply meaningful. On the other, there’s an odd discomfort that creeps in when it comes to asking for reviews or support. Perhaps it’s pride, or maybe it’s the fear of seeming needy. Whatever it is, it makes the simple act of sharing my work feel unexpectedly heavy.

The ten months I spent researching and writing this book pulled me away from real people and real problems. I became immersed in a different world, and in that solitude I noticed something troubling: the more honest I tried to be in my writing—about pain, injustice, and raw human suffering—the less it seemed to resonate. It felt like truth had to be packaged in fantasy or romance just to be palatable. Sometimes it seems a story needs a chiseled hero or...whatever...to be heard, even if the subject is war, displacement, or deep human struggle.

Ten months ago, I stepped away from surgery to write full-time. But about a month ago, I opened a modest clinic in the suburbs—not just to serve again, but to reconnect with people. The truth is, the road ahead isn’t as long as it used to be, and I feel a stronger need now to give more than I take.

In the process of publishing this book, I reached out to a few friends and asked for reviews. And strangely, it left me with a sour taste—as if I'd unintentionally compromised something sacred in those friendships. Perhaps it’s just my own perception. Perhaps I’m wrong. But I want to be honest with you, people close to my own age, who may understand the weight of such things.

So I’ve made a quiet decision: I won’t ask anyone to read or review my book anymore. If it touches someone, that’s wonderful. If not, I’m still grateful that I was able to express myself in a language that isn’t even my own. And more than anything, I’m thankful to be back among real people, doing what I know best—helping in whatever way I can. Wish me luck!

With sincerity,
Ali Gohar Zamir

Valter Josip | 3 comments Hi!
Although I am 60+ years old, I was and remains a big little curious child who has not stopped wondering and admiring the world around me, while also creating an image of that world in myself. For the last twenty years I have been living in Gospic, a small town in Croatia from where Nikola Tesla left for the world. Croatia is now a member of the EU, and it was once one of the 6 republics of the former Yugoslavia headed by "comrade" Tito and the Communist Party of Yugoslavia, which propagated atheistic Marxism.
Like many of my compatriots, I was brought up to a religious, Christian, Catholic family, so I swallowed that "opium for the people", love for God, but at the same time my love for science, mathematics, art, beauty, truth grew in me. Fortunately, I had a good catechist who explained to me that the conflict between science and faith was false, and years later Pope John Paul II repeated this by claiming that truth cannot refute truth. My curiosity about the existence of myself and the world around me, the search for truth directed my life path. Among the natural sciences that interested me, I still opted for physics because it is a fundamental natural science.
As a student, I encountered the concept of the theory of everything and realized that this is what I was looking for. After graduation, obtaining a master's degree in oceanology and a doctorate in physics, working at the prestigious institute "Rudjer Boskovic", I had the urge to shape my 40+ year search for truth and theory of everything into the book "Science and Faith, Nature and God". The book was published in my mother tongue in 2006, and I wish it contains a foreword by a prominent scientist and distinguished theologian, each from its own perspective.
For personal reasons, I left my job at the Institute and moved to Gospić, where I teach physics to my students, but, thanks to the Internet, I began to deal intensively with science and the most difficult, still scientifically unclear questions: the origin and development of the universe (cosmology), the origin and development of life (evolution) and the origin and development of man (hominization).
In the last twenty years, I have come up with many answers and again, as after my doctorate, I have the need to translate all these findings, many of which go beyond the framework of science, into new books for the widest circle of readers. That is why I decided to translate my first book into English. So it is available in the form of e-book to readers from all over the world. This is, I hope, only the first book in a series of future books that have already been written. I have been keeping a diary since 1973 and in these pages my search and deeper understanding of the theory of everything is documented, which is not a mathematical formula that physicists are looking for, but this simple sentence from which everything follows and to which everything returns:

God is Love!

If I have interested you in reading the book, I would ask you to watch this presentation before that in which I tell you some details (without spoiler alert) about the book and about the theory of everything on: The Theory of Everything/3 The Chess Game as a Toy Model
And leave your comment!

Vezirxan Guluyev (vezirxancom) | 5 comments Hello, I'm Vezirxan.
Writing, for me, is more than just putting words on paper — it is the voice of my inner world, the echo of my emotions, and the reflection of everything I observe and feel. I am a self-published author, which means I independently write, edit, and publish my books without the support of a traditional publishing house.

This journey is not always easy, but it's deeply rewarding. Reaching readers, touching hearts, and leaving something meaningful behind — that’s what I write for.

My work often explores themes of love, loss, memory, healing, and the silent battles we all face.
If any of these resonate with you, I welcome you into my world. I’d be honored to share my stories with you.

📖 Excerpt from my book

Echoes of the HeartIf you're reading this, then I'm already gone.
And I'm sorry.
Not for leaving — but for not allowing you to love me until the end.
I saw what happened to your mother. I saw how it broke your father.
I couldn’t do that to you. I couldn’t let our daughter watch me slowly fade.
So I chose silence.
But silence never meant I stopped loving you.

You were my dawn. My fire. My home.
And Leyla… she is the purest part of us both.
Please, don’t let my absence become her wound.
Let it become her strength.

And Zayn — live.
Live for her.

For yourself, too.
And if love ever finds you again, don’t push it away.
I’ll always be the wind in the trees where we first met.

Yours,

I love writing that provokes thought and wonder and aim to reflect that in my own, leaving the reader to consider its meaning long after the last word.

I just published my first book, a blend of fantasy and sci-fi.

It's about a world bitterly divided by class, and only Dagen, the mysterious energy that flows through all life, keeps the strained peace - until Emperor Gaiju Arveine imposes a cruel tax enforced by brutal violence, sparking open rebellion and setting off a wave of unexpected, yet inevitable consequences, changing the world forever.

Bryce Charette | 3 comments Hi, my name is Bryce Charette and I recently published my debut novel! The title is Eternity's End: the Call of Zeil'Galia. It is the first book in the Eternity's End Trilogy.

The story is a Dark Epic Fantasy that takes place in a land called 'The Realm'. It is a character driven narrative that follows Aden Roadson and a band of found friends.

The first book is a sort of Coming to Age/Call to Adventure story but the full scope of the trilogy is truly Epic in scale. My inspirations were the fantasy stories I loved growing up - Lord of the Rings, Game of Thrones, Harry Potter - the idea was to create something completely original that also somehow feels nostalgic to those of us who miss the fantasy stories of our youth.

This is a totally original world with a really unique magic system that I hope you'll give a chance! I'll link the Amazon page and some socials below. Thank you!

Devikumar Ramalingam | 9 comments Hi everyone,

I’m Devikumar Ramalingam, author of The Celestial Hunt.
This novel is my attempt to bring together everything I love — immersive storytelling, deep philosophical ideas, and a mystery that crosses borders.

What you’ll find inside:
A Unique Core Idea – The belief that thought frequency shapes destiny, and the haunting mantra “Nothing Controlling Everything”.

Two Interwoven Worlds – From the rain-washed streets of Hyderabad to the moonlit shores of the Philippines.

Memorable Characters – Koushik, the curious schoolboy; Jaidev, the enigmatic teacher; Chandrashekar, the philosophical guide; and Edwin, the artist chasing hidden truths.

An Ancient Mystery – A lost book (Providential Psyches), a recurring name (Sangford/Sangfroid), and a trail that could change how we see the universe.

If this blend of mystery, history, and spiritual insight sounds like your kind of read, you can explore it here on Kindle:

Looking forward to your thoughts and discussion!

Rachel Stenekes | 5 comments Hello,

My name is Rachel Stenekes, and I’m a multi-genre author publishing primarily through Kindle KDP. I currently have three published books available in both eBook and paperback formats.

My published works so far focus on second chances at love, often centering on women who have endured hardship, abuse, and loss, yet found the strength to rise above it. These stories explore healing, physically, emotionally, and spiritually, as my characters reclaim their sense of self, step into their power, and open themselves to love, family, and a true sense of home.

Two of my novels feature strong women whose deep knowledge of and bond with horses becomes an major part of their journey, reflecting my lifelong passion for horses and years of hands-on experience in riding and training.

Though romance is currently my published focus, I’m also working on fantasy, romantasy/ Dark romantasy, and psychological thrillers, each carrying my signature themes of strong female leads, found family, magical worlds, and emotional healing.

I am also an avid reader I read books like crazy and read multiple genres!!

C. Tressler | 1 comments Hi everyone,

I’m C.W. Tressler — a sci-fi adventure and fantasy reader turned indie author. My second book just released, and I tend to write the kind of stories I like to read: fast-paced, a little sarcastic, and not afraid to cause trouble.

I’m always looking for other indie authors to check out, so if you’ve got a quick, engaging read with great pacing, point me to it! You can also find some short, funny blogs (and a free novella) on my website: cwilliamtresslerbooks.com

Looking forward to chatting with you all — what’s the last indie book you read that you couldn’t put down?

Loretta Allseitz | 13 comments Hello y'all! I am a Texas-based author whose passion for atmospheric thrillers and small-town crime novels infuses every page with tension and authenticity. Nestled in a quiet lake-town cabin, I draw inspiration from the mist-shrouded shores, moss-draped oaks, and hidden undercurrents of rural life. My debut novel, Teardrops of Lake Tawakoni, follows a married detective duo as they untangle ritualistic murders marked by a chilling teardrop symbol. A lifelong fan of suspense and psychological depth, I blend local color with forensic detail to create morally complex characters you’ll never forget. When I'm not crafting my next twist, you’ll find me devouring true-crime podcasts, exploring backroads, playing with my 2 fur-babies or mapping out the perfect plot twist.

Check out my first book release - Teardrops of Lake Tawakoni - available on Amazon now!

Karakatsanis Dimos (thearchitect89) | 1 comments Black Moon Karakatsanis Dimos

Greetings everyone. My name is Dimos. I have been writing books in the fantasy genre for about 15 years now. Recently after a lot of tribulations I finally published my first book thus starting the biggest project of my life. The Iromir series. The first in the series: Iromir: Black Moon.

The world of Iromir already consumed by darkness from the Uahar, six beings of untold power who can control every mind. Amidst their tyranny a girl will be born immune to their powers. Ai'nil Sakhar. The gifted one. Yet she will soon learn she is prophesied to destroy the world no matter what she does be it good or bad and everything shows it already started.

Took me 9 years to write and currently I am half way through the second. If you are interested you can find all about it on my author page and feel free to ask anything you like I would be delighted to answer. As for the book itself. Its a story where honesty, friendship, love and caring come at a steep price. Multilayered characters who will keep surprising you at every turn and a rollercoaster of emotions to keep you glued on the page. Fast paced with no unnecessary descriptions and daring to step on challenging themes and conditions.

Billy Betts | 1 comments Hi everyone, my name is Billy Betts, an indie author of six books, all written in 2019-2021, but after studying mindfulness and Vipassana meditation the last few years, I am returning to writing. My short story The Karma of the Wildest Man in the West is free right now on Amazon and some of my other titles will be too this week. I recently published Then, I Hear The Train Coming this month, however was written in 2021, back then I didn't think it appropriate to publish but now it's okay.

Here is the blurb for Then, I Hear The Train Coming, followed by my author bio.

Welcome to a raw, first-person account of a psyche in complete freefall. The lead's world is a toxic cocktail of profound loneliness, self-loathing, and a defensive rage that poisons every potential for connection. His brutally honest and profane internal monologue is your only guide through a reality that is rapidly coming apart at the seams—a reality he seems determined to make you abandon before you can abandon him.

This is not a story that unfolds in a straight line; it’s a fever dream on a permanent loop. Prepare for a narrative that shatters and reassembles itself without warning, where the line between waking life, dissociative panic attacks, and disturbing hallucinations is completely erased. One moment you're navigating a disastrous dating app encounter, the next you're reeling from a violent sexual tryst or blindsided by a memory of childhood abuse that redefines everything.
Then, I Hear the Train Coming hits like a brick to the skull. It is a disorienting and unapologetically offensive plunge into the tragedy of a mind that pushes away the very connection it craves. It will leave you breathless, disturbed, and unable to forget Spark's voice long after the final page.

WARNING: READER DISCRETION IS STRONGLY ADVISED

This transgressive fiction novella is an experimental work intended to be a visceral and challenging experience. It contains explicit and potentially distressing content, including:
An Unreliable and Deeply Unlikeable Narrator
Graphic and Pervasive Profane Language
Explicit Themes of Childhood Trauma and Sexual Abuse
Detailed Depictions of Suicidal Ideation

Billy Betts is a versatile author of dark, suspenseful fiction whose work explores the depths of psychological tension. His writing is deeply informed by his keen observations of the human condition. He enjoys hiking and traveling, having visited more than 20 countries and lived in several.
In a remarkable creative surge between late 2019 and early 2021, Betts released five distinct books in just 15 months. This period showcased his incredible range, including three novels—Falter, Burg, and Grassland—the eclectic short story collection Mixtape Volume 1, and the transgressive fiction novella I Paid to Stab a Lion. From his collection, he cites “The Karma of the Wildest Man in the West” as a personal favorite for its unforgettable final scene. You can read this story for free in the Amazon sample for Mixtape Volume 1 as it's the first story.
Following this prolific period, Betts devoted the years between 2021 and 2025 to mindfulness, including the practice of Vipassanā meditation. He recommends the notoriously challenging 10-day introductory course to anyone with the time to undertake it.
2025 marks his return to writing with the release of his latest novella, Then, I Hear The Train Coming

His current public works are:
Falter (Novel, 2019)
Burg (Novel, 2020)
Grassland (Novel, 2020)
Mixtape Volume 1 (Short Story Collection, 2020)
I Paid to Stab a Lion (Novella, 2021)
*The Karma of the Wildest Man in the West (Short Story, 2025)
*The Moon (Short Story, 2025)
Then, I Hear The Train Coming (Novella, 2025)
*Short Stories originally published in the Mixtape Volume 1 collection

W. Newman | 6 comments Hi, I am: W. Tod Newman

I like to pop in and look at these introductions. I kind of wonder whether anyone else is doing this, though.

I figured I'd introduce myself and offer assistance. I have self-published a few books now. I truly love the opportunity to research and craft worlds that fill in the gaps of history. I also enjoy the self-publishing process. I loathe marketing (like many of you, I suspect).

Let me know if I can help!

Tod.
