Hi everyone,
My name is Shanna, and I'm a trauma therapist and integrative psychotherapist based in Belgium. I work with themes like EMDR, clinical hypnosis, and existential struggles — and I write about the quiet, often unspoken layers of what it means to heal.
I'm excited (and a little nervous!) to share that I've published my first books:
📘 Whispers from the Therapy Room – a collection of gentle reflections from inside the therapy space, written for both therapists and anyone who finds themselves navigating emotional pain, vulnerability, or growth.
My second book, Notes from a Therapist, is more like a personal journal — capturing what stays with me before, during, and after sessions with clients. It's not about the clients themselves, but about the echoes they leave behind in the therapist’s heart.
I’d love to connect with fellow readers, writers, and therapists who believe in the power of words to hold, soften, and make sense of experience. Feel free to say hi or share your thoughts if the themes resonate with you.
Warmly,
Shanna

Good morning my name is Porsche Day. I am an author on Amazon and it is a pleasure to be in the group.
Good morning! Nice to meet you all.My name is Angie Robinson and I write mostly inspirational articles about self discovery and personal growth. I wrote a novel in 2013 and have just re-released it with revisions and book club discussion questions. The topic of sexual assault can feel ugly, but it's very important to have voices talking about the after effects and the healing process - even in fictionalized stories.
Shadows of Truth is an achingly real portrayal of one woman's journey from the darkness of her trauma to the light of her healing journey.

Marianne wrote: "Your book sounds intriguing. I was in Africa, in 2023 and I loved it. Best of luck!"Thanks Marianne! We loved Africa so much that I was inspired to write this story. As a debut author, breaking through can be tough, but I’m hoping to spark some interest—and ultimately, earn a few positive reviews along the way. :)
Hello all! My name is Ivan Lay. I have some academic education. I live in the USA. I m interested in parapsychology and instrumental research in the same. However, I am only able to write about this, since I do not have the finances to actually have a well equipped laboratory, or trained personnel. I did produce an ebook: Human Magnets. Totally nonfiction. Basically, there exists a class of males, of any age or type of geographic location who are able to touch solids of any composition to their bare, dry, clean skin and these objects will only fall, id they so decide. These objects may be heavy and/or numerous. This ability can be inherited, show up spontaneously at any age, or even be induced by hypnosis. My ebook is available, should you request, at ivanpeterlay@yahoo.com My hope is, that someone(s) would publish this, as a commercial item.
But further: consider this documentation
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=heVwE...
Magnetic man Georgian man breaks record for sticking spoons to his body and other similar posts.
The objects adhered are of various composition: The closest visual correlation to explain the Human Magnet event would be static electricity. But this explanation can not be valid or easily accepted, due to the lack of known mechanisms to generate a sufficient energy source in humans to accomplish such an event.
However, humans might produce a new [unknown] type of energy. One could search for the anatomical basis for such energy production thusly:
This ability is voluntary. Thus, the time course of such events are defined. And voluntary events have anatomically defined brain areas connected to them. These brain areas and tracts can be located by medical imaging equipment: fMRI and the High Density EEG [526 recording scalp electrodes]. These "nerve nets" could be delineated: possibly noninvasively by imaging modalities in vivo, or in cadavers by injecting dyes into nerves in cadavers. But in both cases the biological cellular assemblages that power the "adhesion of solids to the body" could be found.
It is my contention/hypothesis that a new [as of yet unknown] energy type is the causative path.
Via library research I came on a book by Sir Reginald Scot, that has a few paragraphs to the effect [in Chapter 11] to the effect that in the 1580-s a mineral sample from Russia had these properties: if one had an iron spike that was heated red hot, this spike would repel the aforementioned mineral. Yet, the mineral sample [similar to magnetite attracting iron] would attract gold.
Just knowing electromagnetism, our civilization has achieved much. You could imagine what the mineral randolphsite might produce. To summarize: electric eels can produce a type of energy, biologically. Human Magnets [axiomatically] produce some type of energy. A research path undertaken related to the above would enlarge the knowledge of Anatomy and Physics.

Hi! I'm new to Goodreads and very excited to be here to connect with a whole new group of readers. The 3rd book from my new Father, Creator, Spirit series just hit the shelves in April. It's engaging, melt-your-heart romance, with hints of humor, but it's also a unique kind of futuristic, sci-fi experience - spiritual warfare like you've never imagined, under the guise of alien infiltration! I'd love to tell you all about it, so come, talk to me, I'm listening. 😄

Hi everyone! If you’re feeling a bit lost in the current AI hype, don’t worry, you’re not alone. That’s why I wrote Artificial Stupelligence The Hilarious Truth About AI. Instead of another dry, jargon-filled tech manual, my book takes you on a laugh-out-loud tour through the wild world of artificial intelligence, covering everything from self-driving car mishaps to chatbots with existential crises. You’ll get smarter about AI, but you might also snort your coffee through your nose once or twice (don’t say I didn’t warn you).
So if you want to demystify AI, and maybe have a little fun at its expense along the way, I’d love for you to check it out.
Looking forward to connecting with fellow writers and readers who appreciate a good laugh (and a reality check) about our "stupelligent" machines!

Hi all, I'm Tammy, I'm fairly new to Goodreads. My first book, Wilde Accusation is available on Kindle (ebook) and Amazon (paperback).
First book in a new series.
After a bitter divorce 5 years ago, after moving from California to a small rural town in Montana, Paige Bishop could actually say she was happy with her life. Her son, Marc was thriving in this paranormal community. She had a job she loved. She had a man she loved. What more could a witch ask for? Yep, everything was great!
Until it wasn't, until a body was found by the back door of her aunt's occult store. Worse, the body was her aunt's longtime boyfriend. Worse yet, her Aunt Jody is the prime suspect.
Bob was gruff, he enjoyed rubbing people the wrong way. There were plenty of people that despised the man. Surely, they can't seriously believe her aunt killed him.
Can Paige find the real killer before there are more deaths in this little town?

I'm really just figuring out Goodreads now. Majordomo: A NovellaJester

Hello everyone!Amazed by nature, I started writing since my retirement, with the desire to help children discover the living world. I firmly believe that reading is a pleasure to pass on to children from an early age.
After a first fiction book, I found my way into non-fiction, where I can better share my passion for nature, science and environmental protection.
I’ve been on Goodreads for a few months but only now dare to introduce myself. Happy to be here to celebrate our love of books. Looking forward to talking with you!

Hello everyone. I have been remiss in joining this group, but now that I have, I find the posts by new authors valuable and interesting. I have just published in April the first two books from my ten book series entitled The Stillness Series. It took over 30 years to write, and the reception of the first two books has been very encouraging. The series involves the replacement of humankind by a superior species that is both more powerful and more empathetic than humans. The books defy categorization, but the genres would include speculative fiction, genetics, magical realism, sci-fi, dystopia, philosophy, psychology, and literary elements.
I have always been intrigued about what it must be like to be the first individuals of a cognitively superior species surrounded by a sea of humans, with their propensity to fear and mistrust "otherness".
There occurred four events in my life that led to writing this series. (1) A dead North Vietnamese soldier with a copy of Rousseau's Confessions in his rucksack (2) A Vietnamese woman giving birth in the mud during a particularly violent monsoon (3) my studies of psychology, specifically schizophrenia, and (4) learning Chinese and studying Chinese philosophy.
If you are interested, here are the links to my first 2 books:
Stirring the Stillness, Part 1: Voices of Quest
Stirring the Stillness Part 2, Tortured Journey: A Visionary, Metaphysical, Sci-fi and Magical Realism Novel
Thank you for reading this.
Take care,
Richard
Hi, I’m Keith Simpson, author of Neurodivergent: The Infiniverse Saga Part 1, and I’d love your help spreading the word and marketing tips about a new kind of storytelling: the cinematic novel. This isn’t just a book—it’s an immersive multimedia experience designed to feel like a movie as you read it.🎬 What is a cinematic novel?
It’s a novel enhanced with:
Custom visuals and artwork to bring scenes and characters to life
Soundscapes and background audio to add emotion and atmosphere
Animated video episodes that match the chapters—complete with voiceovers
Interactive storytelling that keeps you engaged beyond the page
💡 I wrote Neurodivergent to spotlight neurodivergent heroes in an exciting, futuristic world where being different is the key to survival. Klic, our main character, is a teen who struggles with Autism and ADHD in the real world—but in the Infiniverse, his unique brain gives him powers others can’t even comprehend.
This project blends science fiction, fantasy, and mental health awareness into one epic adventure. And every time someone reads, shares, or supports it, you’re also helping neurodivergent communities—because I donate 100% of profits (and even more per like/comment/share) to neurodivergent charities in the reader’s name.
Please provide any feedback and marketing tips to help get this started.

Hi everyone! I’m Kathy, and I’m so happy to be here among fellow book lovers.By day, I work as a learning designer, which means I get to write and create content as part of my job – but my real passion has always been storytelling. I’ve been an avid reader for as long as I can remember, and in recent years, I’ve finally carved out the time (mostly after hours!) to pursue my love of writing both fiction and non-fiction.
My debut romance novel, 'Two Hearts Colliding', was a real passion project – something I poured my heart into while balancing work, life, and a very supportive husband who encouraged me every step of the way. I also recently published a fun 'Trivia for Road Trips: 50 Quizzes to Keep Everyone Happy on the Highway', which was inspired by our shared love of driving adventures and competing over who knows more random facts while we’re on the road.
I also have two non-fiction books under Kathy Miles called 'The Leadership Journey: 15 Lessons Learned Travelling that Make You a Great Leader' and 'Career Planning Made Easy: A Practical Workbook for Young Adults'.
I’m really looking forward to connecting with readers and fellow authors here – chatting about books, sharing ideas, and discovering new stories to fall in love with.
Thanks for having me!

Hi Everyone...I am a newly published first time author. My book is called "How the Hell did I become the Boss" and it chronicles some of the twists and turns of a 43 year career with leading brands such as Cadbury, Kelloggs, and Wahl. It started out as a "share the lessons" type of book but evolved into sharing great stories including so many laugh out loud moments I truly cannot count them all. (Keep in mind, I am incredibly biased :) ) Glad to be here and thank you for having me.
Hi everyone!I recently released a book that’s close to my heart: Winning the Game: Master Your Potential, Lead with Purpose, and Love the Process: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Winning-Game...
It’s written for anyone who’s ever felt stuck chasing traditional ideas of success—and wants to redefine it on their own terms. It blends mindset, strategy, and life lessons through the metaphor of treating life like a game.
If you enjoy books that mix personal growth with real-world application, I’d be so grateful if you gave it a read—and even more so if you felt inspired to leave a review on Goodreads or Amazon. 🙏
Would love to hear your thoughts on it or connect with others reading in the same space!

Author Bio: Deanna LaForceI’m an emergency room nurse turned nursing instructor; but before that, I was just someone trying to survive the night shift without going numb.
The Lotus Series was born in trauma bays, in quiet moments between codes, in the aftermath of overdoses and losses I couldn’t forget. Writing became a way I could metabolize what I was seeing. The blood, the grief, the humanity we rarely talk about.
Now I write fiction that doesn’t look away; stories about addiction, survival, collapse, and the quiet courage it takes to keep showing up when everything inside you wants to shut down.
If you’ve ever felt cracked open by real life and needed a story that understood, this series is for you.
📖 The Pink Lotus — personal trauma, addiction
💙 The Blue Lotus — systemic collapse, psychosis
💚 Green Lotus (coming soon) — alcoholism, domestic cycles,
I still teach future nurses. I still remember the names we lost. And I still believe that fiction can heal, even when it hurts.

G’day everyone, my name is Paul and I’m an indie author from Brisbane, Australia. I’m new to Goodreads and still trying to get my head around it. I’m an avid fan of the early years of Aussie rock music from mid-Fifties to the end of the Sixties and have self-published two books on the subject, both of which are available on Goodreads. You can also check out the book trailer I’ve made on my profile page. Thanks for allowing me to be part of the group.https://www.goodreads.com/user/show/1...
Hi everyone — I'm Daniel Sheley.I'm a storyteller, musician, and Navy veteran who writes books shaped by hard-earned truth and myth-blooded memory. My debut fantasy novel, Lux Mendacium, explores the weight of belief in a world built on lies, and my latest release, Heartcoil, fuses steampunk grit with emotional depth, following a mechanic who invents something the world isn't ready to forgive.
My writing leans into what I call poetic trauma — stories that hurt in beautiful ways. I don't write villains. I write people making impossible choices in broken systems. My characters stand not because they're chosen, but because no one else would.
When I’m not writing, I’m composing songs for my kids, theorizing about nested realities, or running emotionally intense D&D campaigns where the monsters are rarely the real threat.
Looking forward to learning from everyone, cheering on your launches, and being part of a community that knows what it means to bleed ink.
Hi everyone! My name is Laia, I'm 40 years old, and I'm from Girona, a beautiful city in the north of Catalonia. I work as a clinical lab technician at a hospital, I'm married, and I'm the proud mom of two little girls who have completely stolen my heart.
Not long ago, I fulfilled a dream I never thought would come true: my first novel was published! I still can't quite believe it, but here I am, diving into this new adventure and looking for readers who might be interested in discovering my story.
For now, the book is only available in Spanish, but as Han Solo would say: "I'll take any help I can get." 😄
Thanks for reading!

Hi everyone,I recently jumped back into the writing universe, and am currently dusting off (rewriting) a story I wrote a long time ago. Also working on a second book since November 2024. Both stories are close to having the first draft completed (thought I was there already, but I've learned so much about the craft that I recognized I needed to rewrite before moving on.
Former pantser, now a firm believer in outlines. I have no formal study in how to write novels, but I have been reading books on various aspects and may one cay be Amazon-certified. Anyone interested, I am willing to share subjects/authors who write these how-to books, as well as the method I use to ensure what I purchase is quality and not a waste of time and money.
Looking forward to meeting other writers.
Hi everyone! I’m looking for a few beta readers my new book called “AmpUp Life – Eleven Commandments to amplify your life”.AmpUp Life doesn’t just talk about transformation—it facilitates it. Whether you’re a student navigating uncertainty, a working professional feeling stretched thin, a homemaker searching for deeper meaning, or someone simply ready to break free from the mundane, this book offers a path forward. Its tone is warm and encouraging, yet grounded in real-world understanding. It acknowledges the fears, doubts, and distractions that often block growth, and offers tools to overcome them—without preaching or overwhelming the reader.
What sets AmpUp Life apart is its integrative nature. While many self-help books focus on isolated areas—career success, wellness, or relationships—this book recognizes that life doesn't work in silos. Growth in one area fuels progress in others, and the key is not perfection, but alignment.
If you enjoy personal development books and don’t mind giving honest, constructive feedback, I’d love your help!
