Hades Martín (hadesismyrealname) | 2 comments Hello :)

I am Hades, a Spanish writer. I'm studying an English BA, and would like to specialise on Comparative Literature of English, Spanish and the reception of the Classics and Western myths.

My books take influence from various romantics as Mary Shelley, Oscar Wilde and Polidori, but also existentialists as Dostoyevski. I like to take interdisciplinary approaches, including natural sciences in an approachable way, allowing to have different readings, and social commentary.

My first book, Edward Ghost: Recuerdos de Adam von Gewak takes inspiration from Frankenstein: The 1818 Text and The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde and Other Tales of Terror. I like to include diversity among my characters and open questions on the LGBT presence in the past, and how it was hidden from the public eye. As well as strong feminine characters that explore the dilemmas of nature/nurture within patriarchal societies as London during the Victorian Ages.

The second book, Latuit is the second part, which elaborates on the past of one of the most mysterious characters in Edward Ghost, and what happens after this book ended. The novel has a deep air of pessimism that emanates from the protagonist, with other characters constantly challenging this. With a deeply introspective detective that has to explore his identity after extremely traumatic events, this book explores how others shape our own identity and how to regain independence and a sense of self after the death of our loved ones.

The book I am writing right now changes drastically from my previous setting, going back into a fantastical Ancient Greece. Mixing the high fantasy of J.R.R. Tolkien and the Ancient Greek culture, this book will take you into the classical world through the lens of Aidoneo, the servant of Hades that has to justify his position among the gods in a judgement against him. With deep commentary on social disparity and inequality, this novel engages with the issue of identity, creating a strong analogy with the experience of coming of age as a trans person or a mixed racial identity. Once again, I strive to leave an open reading on my books that provide comfort to the reader, allowing them to have a space to feel represented.

Hope to make friends and discover new writers!

Dianne C Braley | 2 comments Meet Me... Dianne C. Braley – The Dark Elin Hilderbrand of New England Fiction

Hey, I’m Dianne C. Braley, a Boston-born writer who tells gritty, character-driven stories set in the raw, beautiful, and sometimes brutal landscapes of Martha’s Vineyard, Boston, and its inner surrounding cities. My books dig deep into life’s messiest corners—family, survival, and the ghosts of the past that refuse to let go. If you like stories with bite, heart, and a wicked sense of place, you’re in the right spot.

My acclaimed debut, The Silence in the Sound, put me on the map, earning praise and awards, and I’ve since been dubbed "The Dark Elin Hilderbrand"—which, honestly, I’ll take. My latest, The Summer Before, continues my exploration of the complex, often haunting realities beneath New England’s picturesque surface. I’m currently working on Drive City, a hard-hitting novel set in late-’90s Revere, where stolen cars were currency, corruption ran deep, and getting out wasn’t as easy as it seemed.

When I’m not writing, you’ll probably find me juggling life, managing a million things at once, or obsessing over a new story idea. If you love authentic, hard-hitting fiction with a New England soul, I’d love to connect.

📖 Check out my books, my blog, and what I’m reading. Let’s talk stories.

Janee' Butterfield | 4 comments Hi, I’m Janee' Butterfield! I write suspense thrillers that keep you on edge, blending psychological twists with dark secrets. My latest book, Nighty Night, Dear, follows a woman who uncovers a dangerous identity-theft and trafficking ring, forcing her to become an informant—but survival comes at a cost.

I’ve been writing for years, and like many authors, my path has been a mix of traditional querying and self-publishing. I love crafting stories that make readers second-guess everything.

I’d love to connect with fellow book lovers! Drop a comment, let’s chat about thrillers, or grab a free book by subscribing at JaneeButterfield.com.

SUNNY ORIM | 4 comments SUNNY ORIM

Hi everyone, I’m Sunny Orim, and I have a deep passion for history.

I grew up fascinated by the stories passed down through generations, but I soon realized how much of our pre-colonial African history was never written down. That’s what led me to historical fiction—to preserve and reimagine the untold stories of our past.

My latest book, Will of the Gods, was inspired by the rich cultures and traditions of the ancient Efik kingdom and the Mbembe tribes of Southern Nigeria. The Efik once saw the birth of twins as an abomination, a belief that shaped destinies and led to struggles, triumphs, and mysticism—perfect ingredients for a compelling story.

I love connecting with fellow writers and readers who enjoy stories rooted in real history.
Please add me as friend!

M. J. Pfiffner | 1 comments Hi all, my name is M J Pfiffner and my first novel, Tearing of the Veil, An Al
Mathews Adventure, Book 1! It's an action-packed YA adventure. I have included information about the book below. I'd love to hear your thoughts if this sounds like your kind of read. This is the first in a planned five-book series, and I already have rough drafts for books 2 and 3 in the works!
Thanks for checking out this post!

Thirteen-year-old Al Mathews always considered himself ordinary. He didn't believe in magic, monsters, or anything out of the ordinary-until the day he was attacked by a Pawn! Chased by a shadow and forced to defend himself from a fencer, Al's world is about to be turned upside down.

When his mom's job moves them to a new town near the Mississippi River, Al hopes to leave his troubled past behind: no friends, constant bullying, and the label of "loser." But trouble seems to follow him wherever he goes.

Now, with a group of unlikely friends, Al finds himself caught in a battle between good and evil. As dark forces close in, Al must make life-or-death
decisions, racing against time to save those he cares about-and uncover the answers he needs—before it's too late.

message 22273: by Bookswithblake (new)

Bookswithblake | 1 comments Hello everyone! I'm Blake!

I'm 37 years old (for another 20 or so days at least) and I'm really just starting to get into reading as a primary form of entertainment.

I've spent a ton of time in my life jumping around from hobby to hobby, and I feel like I've wasted so much time. I used to spend hundreds of hours per month playing video games. While I do think the types of games I was playing had a positive impact on my social skills and my problem solving; The amount of wasted hours leave a bad taste in my mouth.

Last year I was diagnosed with ADD - which I had NO CLUE that I had. It wasn't until after speaking with my therapist that she suggested reaching out to a psychologist for evaluation. After that, I feel like I've learned so much about myself. I haven't jumped around from hobby to hobby near as much, I've become a lot more patient, and reading has become a part of my daily life.

At the beginning of 2024 I set a goal for myself to try to read 12 books [1 per month] and ended up reading 14. This year, I set myself an ambitious goal of 24 books, and I've already finished 11. Also this year, I've decided I want to try to release one or two YouTube videos per month [#linkinbio]. I'm short on my goal, but I have SO MANY ideas for videos I want to make.

I have seriously considered writing for a long time. I've tried to start writing several times but I have difficulty deciding where to go and what to do with my story. I feel like my vocabulary and grammar are average or above, and I could write without much difficulty, but time and direction are my opposing forces.

Outside of literature, my favorite way to spend my time is with my wife and kids. There are SIX kids in my house. I have a 9 year old son, almost 6 year old daughter, and my four nieces and nephews (11M/11F/8F/5F). Long story short, my house is an absolute CIRCUS at times, so my noise cancelling headphones and a good book really come in handy!

I am also a full time Quality Professional in the Aerospace Industry - I spent 17 years in automotive, and made a switch to Aerospace in December. I'm so happy with my new career, and it's been SO good for my mental health.

On top of my family and career, I'm also attending Western Governors University in pursuit of my Bachelor of Science in Data Analytics. I absolutely believe that the future of tech is in big data and AI, and I've aligned myself to move in that direction over the next 5 years.

So yeah, I'm not busy at all 😅😅
But in all honesty, I like to stay busy - it keeps my mind fresh and I LOVE to learn.

I’m 25 years old, a Christian, and currently serving in the Ukrainian military, where I work as a cook. It’s been three years of service, and in my free time, I’ve been searching for something meaningful and creative to focus on — that’s how I discovered the world of children’s books.

Before the war, I worked as a financial advisor. Now, writing brings me peace, purpose, and hope.
As a beginner in publishing, I’m still learning and growing — so I’d truly appreciate any honest feedback you’re willing to share on my books.

Please don’t judge too harshly — but do be honest 🙂
Thank you for reading and supporting!

All of a sudden, he arrived in my life like a gust of wind. Since then, life has started changing towards the better.

He filled my life with positivity,

He introduced me to the purity of the soul,

He enlightened my soul by pouring in spiritual wisdom,

He made me realize the greatness of Karma,

He taught me to choose acceptance over expectation; present over past/future; peace over worry; understanding over judgement; action over overthinking; happiness over misery and love over hatred,

He made me recognize the innate potential within me to become a writer,

He gifted me a different perspective with which I started making wise decisions and better choices on the path of spiritual wisdom,

He helped me in healing myself where I have learnt so much and evolved into a better version of myself,

He directed me when I was lost in the chaos of life,

He made me understand the definition of unconditional love,

He made me discover the divinity within me,

He who has always been there to protect me and to love me unconditionally, the one who owns Radha’s love, Radhesh, Lord Krishna…

Dear Krishna,

My body is a temple for my soul in which my heart is a holy place where I worship you with every breath I take in. I have dedicated my soul, my past, present, future, thoughts, words, actions, consequences… everything to you. You are my beginning, you are my destination, and you are my journey.

With love,

Eternal Scrolls: The Inkbound Realms
In Eternal Scrolls: The Inkbound Realms , Rayen, a bored and frustrated teenager, stumbles upon a magical library after following a glowing butterfly into an otherworldly alley. Inside, he discovers a realm called Scrollwyn, where stories come alive, and characters fight to survive their own narratives. Joined by Lila, a determined girl erased from her own story, and guided by quirky companions like Patchwick, a talking fox with a semicolon for an eye, and Flicker, a miniature dragon, Rayen embarks on a perilous journey through fantastical realms. Together, they face trials that test their courage, creativity, and connection—encountering everything from grumpy rocks and riddling mirrors to a dragon who has forgotten fire. As they delve deeper into the heart of the book, Rayen and Lila uncover truths about themselves and the power of storytelling, ultimately confronting the Revisionist, a shadowy figure who demands sacrifices for every rewritten ending. With stakes higher than ever, they must make an impossible choice: rewrite the final page or destroy the story forever. Filled with whimsical wonder, emotional depth, and nail-biting suspense, Eternal Scrolls: The Inkbound Realms explores the boundaries between fiction and reality—and asks whether every story truly needs an ending.

नमस्ते साथियों,

मैंने हाल ही में एक हिंदी उपन्यास लिखा है: "Love Ends Peacefully",

Kindle पर अभी उपलब्ध है।
मैं आपकी ईमानदार प्रतिक्रिया का इंतज़ार करूँगा।

Hello,

I'm Catherine Stillwell and published my first book in May of 2024. "Paulie Finds His Forever Home" is a true story about our beloved senior dog who we adopted in 2014 at eight years old. I wrote the book to bring awareness to senior shelter dogs and how to prevent pets from becoming a stray. The shelters are busting at the seams with strays and I wanted to educate pet owners on how to keep their pets safe.

Bruce Smith | 6 comments Hi all, I'm Bruce Smith. I live in a small town north of Toronto, and I recently wrote my first book, "The Answers Lie in Africa", which is now available as an e-book or paperback. It was inspired by a recent trip I made to South Africa.
The Answers Lie in Africa is a gripping historical mystery/thriller that follows Fiona Truscott as she journeys to South Africa to clear her great-grandfather’s name from a century-old scandal. As she digs into the past, Fiona finds herself entangled in a web of secrets, danger, and betrayal, set against a rich backdrop of safaris, luxury rail travel, and the echoes of colonial intrigue.
