Hi, I am Natasha McKinley, formerly Natasha Gruss. I published a short but poignant poetry book in 2016 under the Gruss name. I have a BA in English Literature and am a mother. I love nature, cats, and art, and will admit that I am a fan of TV. I have worked a lot with people with mental illness and disabled people.
Most of the time you will find me reading, I love all fiction. Fantasy and Science Fiction are my favorites, yet I also love Thrillers and Mysteries, Romance and Memoirs. I also read other poetry books, of course. I'll read non-fiction if I'm really interested. I'm excited to meet new people in this group!

Hi🤗
My name is De’Ja, I’m a JW & I’ve been here for a while but never introduced myself. I’ve always liked to read and dibble dabbled in some writings of my own. When COVID 19 hit, I kinda stopped all that. But I’m trying to get back into reading. So I’m hoping that by interacting with the Goodreads community I’ll be able to achieve my reading goals! And make a few new friends along the way. 😅

Our new book "Animal Fairy Tales for All Ages" by Khawar Sohail Siddiqui and Aimee Siddiqui has ~110 color illustrations, a lot of which are AI-generated, a newer concept. The artwork on the front and back covers is also generated using Chat GPT AI. Children will love stories as well as pictures.

PREFACE:
This is my third book containing animal fairy tales for all ages. All stories are co-written with my daughter, Aiman Siddiqui, a graduate in mass media, communication, and marketing. It has four stories taken from my earlier two books whereas the fifth story (War of Intelligences) has been included for the first time.
The first two parts (Thoughtful Tortoise and the Warrior Wolf and Guru Giraffe and the Pompous Polar Bear) are taken from my earlier book, Fact & Fiction, Part I (Fiction) published by Amazon, lulu.com, Flipkart, and Pothi in Feb 2023. The titles of the stories have been changed.
Part 3 (Hominids and the Monkey Dinner Bell Tree) and Part 4 (Justice Jaguar and the Sleepy Sloth) are taken from my earlier book, Tales of Stealth for the Curious, published by Amazon, lulu.com, and Pothi in July 2023. The titles of the stories have been changed.
These tales have poems and a great deal of drama and humor, something along the lines of an animated thriller. People of all ages, especially children, will be amused reading them.
The book is fully illustrated with colored images including pencil drawings and rock paintings by us. Given the current trend, there are numerous AI-generated artwork in the book. These images were created with the help of CHAT GPT 4.0 and DALL•E3.
We hope readers of all ages will love reading our book as much as we enjoyed writing it.

Hi everyone,I published my first fantasy books last year but being an introvert and recluse, find it difficult to share my thought outside my books. So here is my attempt to get a bit better known! Anyway, the Keeper Clans Chronicles are a series where a diverse group of university students discover they are portal keepers. By travelling through a portal you can choose to become anything or anyone. You can't be immortal or do harm but other than that, the sky is the limimt. Of course that went wrong :-)
In the prequel The Ancient Realms https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1... you can read how previous Keepers tried to close them down. They missed some and today's Keepers need to catch up with their ancestry and figure out how to stop the increased abuse.
In the first book The Rediscovered Realms https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1... the new Keepers can be followed trying to figure out what to do while they are confronted with a race of vicious ground-dwelling creatures.
The second book, The Twin Realms will (hopefully) be published at the end of this year.
I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed creating this world. There are two more episodes to come.
Cheers
I.C.
Hello, i'm Teo, an ordinary student in Brazil, i'm bilingual (English and Portuguese) and like reading sci-fi books. You might ask "Why is your profile picture pixel art?" and the answer is that i like pixel art. What's the problem?Well, the book The Martian (by Andy Weir) is the book i'm reading, and it's AMAZING. I have a quest to write a sci-fi book all by my own, because why not?
That's it for my intro!

HiI'm Dariusz, I am living in London in the UK. I thought I will pitch in my book here. This is my first novel - based solely on my authentic story. Some may say - why I decided to write about, what was essentially life changing event in my life? The answer is difficult - maybe I was looking for some kind of redemption? Or maybe a solution to end the suffering of a broken soul? Being compassionate is a generosity we largely forget to extend to ourselves... I still struggle with it - being my own greatest critic.

I recently publishedThe Military Experience: How it Can Impact Your Future. The book is geared towards young adults considering joining the military. If you or someone you know is considering joining the military this is a quick read filled with details of the process of joining and all the benefits one can experience from being in the service.
My decision to join was life changing for me and the traits, education, and skills I learned have carried over to my career in the civilian world. I am appreciative of being accepted in this group and look forward in reading your posts.

Hi all, hope you can help. I rec'd on my Author Dashboard yesterday a "question" from 3 different people here on GR. Different people but all the same exact message. Very threatening & abusive. Telling me my family should die, called me a pig, said my book was garbage, and if I didn't pay them to review my book, they would get vicious. I ignored the questions, reached out to GR & flagged/reported the questions. Rec'd no response so far from GR. Then today I rec'd more "questions." More threatening than yesterday's. Saying they are in a different country, GR & Amazon can't touch them. They want me off of GR or they will pirate my book. They claim to be AI. So again, I ignored them. Reported & reached out again to GR. Has this happened to anyone else? And what should I do about it? What happens to my book sales or royalties if they actually do pirate my memoir? Should I be worried? Thanks for your help and God Bless.

I helped to edit a memoir written by my mother. Below is an excerpt from “Finding Strength to Carry On: A Memoir,” by Barbara Hubbartt GrueningService to others - Barb’s Lesson Learned: One of the activities of my local church every holiday season was to provide a Christmas meal for families or gifts for children for those who are less fortunate in the community. I remembered how my participation in these events had always made me feel better. There will always be bumps in the road of life; but remember that as bad as things seem to you, there are others whose circumstances are worse than you. When you volunteer to help others in some way, the act of giving back to the community helps to boost your own sense of well-being. As part of my own healing, I became involved in organizations and activities that helped others in the community.

Good day fellow writers and readers. I have just joined, and though I still navigating the profile section, my name is Roxanne Ward. I write dystopian novels and I just published my third book. Like many self-published authors, I write for the pure self-satisfying joy of it, but pray for exposure to reach more readers. I have two series that complement each other in topic, cross-over characters, and setting. Each book has its own storyline which enhances both series, but one has adult content and the other is appropriate for all readers (retired but devoted middle school LA teacher).

Your mother was a wise woman. Charity, especially to those unbound to you by relation or friendship, has at least as many benefits to the giver as it does to the recipient. It can improve all aspects of one’s life beyond the immediate endorphins it provides. It fulfills all four pillars of mental health needs in one activity, which sends out a plethora of health inducing neurotransmitters and immunity boosting antibodies.
It’s clear we are meant, if not designed, to be good in nature and deed. People who give joyfully are an inspiration and a guiding light to those around them. You are truly blessed to be the child of such a person.
P.S. I’m not a Dr., but used to teach health to middle schoolers and I spent a significant amount of time, than the suggested by my administration, on caring for and improving one’s mental health.

Hi, I am Steve and I just published a Historical Fiction novel set in 1860s on the Western frontier of the United States. It takes in the struggles of both sides of the story, not just the White European push west hampered by troublesome natives. That story has been perpetuated for a couple of centuries.
It is not a documentary, but a story about Native Americans and European Settlers dealing with this Clash of Cultures. There is death and heartache, on both sides. The stages of grief. There are corrupt politicians, not any different than in today's world.
Based on real people and events, the conversations that tell the story are embellishments to explain the facts we think we know.

Sherrie Miranda here. I am currently working on Book 3 of Shelly's Journeys series. But am promoting Book 1 because that's my most recent publication.Peace, love & justice for all,

Sherrie Miranda's "Crimes & Impunity in New Orleans" follows the dramatic story of naive, sheltered Shelly going to “The Big Easy” to prepare for El Salvador, but has no idea she will encounter sexism and witness racism as well as illegal activities by government agents.

Author, Sherrie Miranda's husband made the trailer for "Crimes & Impunity in New Orleans." He wrote the music too.

Review: Shelly’s journey in “the city that care forgot.”Sherrie Miranda’s new novel “Crimes and Impunity in New Orleans” puts the reader into a whirlwind of political protests, abusive police, sexist attitudes towards women, and “good old boys” racism in 1980’s New Orleans. Miranda’s second novel follows Shelly, the young northerner, as she quickly finds out that she “isn’t in Kansas anymore” while encountering a slew of picturesque, colorful characters. Reading her book makes you wonder if justice and respect for blacks, immigrants, and women can be reality in America.
Hello everyone, my name is Alistair. I am a recently self-published author and a book enthusiast (although lately it seems I don't have enough time to read anything).I'm also in the process of making a video series to help new authors in the process of writing and publishing a book, and I look forward to being a more active member here.
The third book in my series Guardian Chronicles came out in November written under my pen name of Kitty Cooper. Named Blue Spark, this one is set in the guardians back yard so to speak. Sub Commander Pilih Eipo goes missing after interviewing two women in connection with the death of a retired doctor on Gaeiza. His two planet bound friends in the grey and green guardians are denied permission to investigate the case as he's officially on vacation and can't be listed as missing until he failes to return to duty. It then falls on Space Guardian Luapp Nostowe to investigate when he comes back on vacation. He is only given a fortnight to find Pilih, and sets off on a tour of the Seven Systems, following leads until he eventually makes telepathic contact with him on the planet Mithiril. Then he discovers that the undersea dome Pilih is in is set to explode in four days. Blue Spark - available from Amazon: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Blue-Spark-K... Hello everyone, Kris Bekkering here. Let me tell you a little bit about myself. My current profession is working for the Department of Defense within the Intelligence community. Long story not so long…I graduated high school in the small town of Grand Haven, Michigan. I then enlisted in the United States Air Force for one term. Found my strengths in entering the private industry where I led a great team of employees in the Stone/construction industry. I eventually found my way back to Uncle Sam’s front door and here I am. I am a father of 2 wonderful boys, and one is in the making! July 4th, 2024 is the due date which couldn’t be more fitting. My goal and aspirations from authoring are to help appropriately explain this new world we find ourselves in… (Much different than when I grew up in the ’90s) to our children. We as parents owe them that. The challenges they face now are unparalleled compared to what we had to face as kids. My 4 book children’s series all being released throughout late 2023 and 2024 will and should test these waters. (In a fun and sensitive way of course.) My most prized achievement above anything else is finding God as my savior and my family.Follow me on Instagram for any and all updates! kris_allen_bekkering
Hello! My name is Henry, and I am an author, a teacher, and a dungeon master. Some days I struggle to know what's most important.
I recently published my first book, the God of Make Believe, an epic fantasy murder mystery.
After the funeral for his best friend, Finley finds himself transported to a strange and unfinished world where statues move and ghosts see inside your head. But even this world has murders.
Given a sign that the recent spate of murders in the magical city of Oshroar is connected to his friend's death back on Earth, Finley sets forth to crack the case!
Hello everyone, Thanks for the add to this group. I'm so glad to be here not only as a reader, but now also as an author. My book, "A Lifetime in Eleven Days" was published in late September and is available in print and digital formats exclusively at Barnes & Noble. It's a memoir that has its roots not just my early life, but in the story of my foray into an ICU following my mother's emergency surgery. This book certainly could have been fiction. Instead, it shares a heart wrenching and true story that many may find familiar. I hope you'll check it out. Now that the work of publishing this particular book is mostly done, I am digging deep into the library - Just finished reading, "Redefining Realness".
My name is Michael Dyet. I write literary fiction. My short story collection "Hunting Muskie: Rites of Passage" was published by Blue Denim Press in 2019. I've just finished a novel which I have submitted to Blue Denim Press for consideration for 2024. I'm retired now so I have time to write more regularly!
Hi, I am Lorena, an avid reader. I see there are few sections with the genres I like the most and I look forward to new recommendations, especially from new authors.I love writing too, it's been a while since I started writing my own book, but apparently too afraid to finish it... I am somehow stuck. Previously I wrote articles and reviews based on the books I read. I would like to be a great reviewer, but English is not my native language and I feel the barriers. However, I hope at some point I will finish my book and publish it in English :)
Nice to meet you all!

Hi Donna, thank you for the tip, that really might help me. I actually started my book in 2014! Until 2016 it was very easy for me to keep up and my ideas were flowing. I was very active that time too. Sometimes I take notes here and there (thinking that I can develop them in my book). I wrote a bit during the pandemic too, when in quarantine, I guess that was the perfect time to generate thoughts. Now I'm just waiting for that spark...

Dear fellow readers and thinkers,
I am Savior Sullivan, and it's my pleasure to introduce you to my novel 'Chantilly'. Inspired by the ingenious minds of Boris Vian and Kurt Vonnegut, this book is an invitation to a world where the surreal meets the meaningful.
About 'Chantilly':
'Chantilly' is more than a story; it's a reflection of life's absurdities and wonders. If you're drawn to the thoughtful whimsy of Vian and the sharp, satirical insights of Vonnegut, then 'Chantilly' may just be your next favorite read.
Why This Book?
This novel is for those who seek depth in the surreal, who appreciate a narrative that intertwines the comical with the profound. 'Chantilly' aims to entertain, but also to provoke thought and discussion.
A Reciprocal Offer:
In the spirit of understanding and mutual growth in our literary journeys, I propose an exchange. If you take the time to read and review 'Chantilly' on Goodreads and Amazon, I will be honored to read and review your published work. Let's nurture each other's creative expression.
Joining Hands:
If this literary exchange resonates with you, please reach out to me privately after your review. I am eager not only to hear your thoughts on 'Chantilly' but also to immerse myself in the worlds you have created.
Thank you for your time and thoughtfulness. I look forward to our shared journey through the realms of imagination and intellect.
With warm regards,
Savior Sullivan
