I am a professional marine biologist by day but love children's stories having read thousands to my five children over many years every night before bed. This is all a bit new to me so thank you for letting me be a part of this group. Hello my name is Paige. I love to read and love to review books. I am currently working on getting my reviews posted to GoodReads but it is taking me longer than anticipated. I have also started writing a sci-fi series that I am not even sure I want to try and publish because I am not very confident in my writing. I also don't have thousands to fork out for editing and publishing.
My day-to-day life looks like this work 8am to 5pm (read/listen to books during my downtime), pick my daughter up from the babysitter and we play outside until 7pm and then have dinner and she is asleep by 9:30/10. It leaves me with about 2 hours of downtime to read at night.
My reading goal each month changes, June I got 13 books done and July was very much the same. August I am shooting for 15.
My favorite genres are typically Thriller, Suspense, and Science Fiction. I have dabbled in fantasy and romance as well as Women's Fiction and enjoyed them I just don't tend to seek them out because I haven't found my love for them just yet.
I have a blog that I am working on adjusting and rebranding, right now I mainly post reviews of books but I think I want to add more depth to them. I want to start talking more about the books and authors in broader sense. As well as maybe do interviews once a month to highlight an Author.
My website also features Authors each month but that isn't why I joined the group.
Anyway, I am looking forward to looking through these threads for advice, new books and other things to help me in the future.
Hi everybody! I am a long-time Goodreaders user but am now so thrilled to have become a Goodreads Author! My debut novel 'The Runaway Man' will be released worldwide by Cranthorpe Millner Publishers on September 26! I am a New Zealand journalist and my genres of choice are crime and mystery. I'd love to connect with fellow writers and readers so feel free to drop me a message, become Friends on Goodreads, or visit my website www.kelleytantau.com!
PS - Just finished reading my first Mo Hayder book... LOVED IT.
Thanks all!
Hello Everyone! It's good to be here. I am Olamide Olomo by the way. I'm an avid reader and a keen writer. Currently in my Final Year in the Uni. I published my first book last year, titled, "Why Do Do People's Dreams Extinct With Age?" https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B1TM7JC1
I would be releasing my second book this year. Stay tuned guys.
It's such an honour to be here, and I look forward to meeting new friend and learning new things. Gracias!
Born in Madrid (a brief eternity ago), I have lived in the Canary Islands for half my life and who knows where I will end up in the ever-smaller stretch I have left of bothering with my presence. I have been writing for so many years that Alzheimer's is beginning to be a convenient disease for my spirit. For a while, with half a dozen friends, I managed the literary workshop 27etras, one of the pioneers in developing this work on the Internet. And now, with similar shamelessness, I correct and advise other writers to achieve the success that I have never had, I shamelessly act as a "ghostwriter", and I have reviewed my biography so many times for literary awards that will never be given to me -even for some of those who have had the dubious pleasure of awarding them to me-, for that prolific and frenetic presence in the virtual world that invades us, and for other literary purposes that I imagine I have run out of lies to embellish myself or I no longer distinguish them from the truth. My stories, novels and whatever I write share cynicism and disillusionment, love and sex; they lack political correctness, they are so tolerant with the vices, virtues, customs or freedom of others that there are those who will call them libertine, sadistic, shameless, or who knows.
And if you still think the guy in the photo -somewhat older now, but flirtation and laziness don't encourage me to change it- deserves to be followed or you are intrigued by something else about him, besides buying any of the ones available on Amazon -something I thank you very much for- , you can visit:
https://javierluque.es
https://medium.com/perdonen-el-atrevi...
Although I won't deny that I'm not prolific on either site, so perhaps the most useful thing to do is to write to me at javierluque@27etras.es and ask me questions, praise or even censure; I'm sure I'll answer you.
Hey, I'm Ben. I love books and writing, if you have any sci-fi recommendations let me know. I also just wrote a book on amazon called Dynasty of the Themian Empire (Book 1 in the Themian Dynasty series.) Feel free to check it out and I'm looking forward to seeing recommendations!
Hi, I'm Donna. Here is my short bio. I live in California and enjoy reading all kinds of books. I enter giveaways on Goodreads but haven't won any books in a very long time. I'm looking forward to Stephen King's new book in the fall. Forgot to tell you I'm shy and don't write a whole lot. Hi to everyone.
Hello everyone. I'm O'Conner Sycamore, and I engage in applied physics and part-time writing. I have recently published my first book titled "Unforeseen Consequences: The Beginning." I enjoy science fiction, fantasy, mystery, and horror genres. My book contains elements of science fiction, fantasy, and mystery. My favorite author is Stephen King, and I'm trying to read all of his books, which seems like it will take quite some time :)
Hi everyone, I'm KD Sherrinford, best known for my Sherlock Holmes and Irene Adler Romantic Mysteries. I enjoy reading historical fiction, mysteries and suspense when I'm not writing. My favourite authors are Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Agatha Christine, John Rankin, Charlotte Bronte and John Steinbeck I live on The Fylde Coast in the UK with my husband, John and our children.
hi, I'm Albert Cory (pen name), author of two fiction books about Silicon Valley (Inventing the Future & The Big Bucks) and third one almost done.I seem to have the genre all to myself! My books not about immigrants, murder, war, LGBT, or romance; just the birth of the technology that we all use every day.
I was there and I was part of it. The backdrops are all real and rigorously researched. AMA!

Hi! I'm Jeff. I'm not only a reader but I produce a quirky podcast for readers called The Page 1 Challenge. It's a short form podcast (about 5 minutes) where BEFORE identifying the title or author of a book, I simply read the first page. Can page 1 be fascinating enough to make you want to read the book? THAT'S the challenge! It's all in good fun and of course I do identify the book after reading the first page. Usually there is also a little bit of trivia from the author at the end of each episode.
Not sure if I'm allowed to post a link here but it is easy to find on the podcast platforms or you can find the website.
p.s. - I'm always looking for authors to let me feature their books on the podcast. I'm meticulous about getting permission from authors, to respect their work.
Hello all! I’m Anita and I am also relatively new to Goodreads. I self-published what I call a “rage-coloring book/graphic novel” called Deception: A Story of Betrayal, after finding out my spouse was cheating on me. I had put my art on the backburner for so long and I needed an outlet for my grief (during the pandemic) so I turned back to one of my passions. I shared some images with this one infidelity group that I’m in and they encouraged me to publish it, and so it was done. I have a lot more stories in me that I will eventually put down on paper- all in due time. I hope that my book can generate a few laughs (dealing with this pain was excruciating and humor has helped me through this) and let people know that they aren’t alone. This rollercoaster of emotions is not a fun ride.
I’m obviously using a pseudonym as I’m still under the same roof as my cheater. He has kept plenty of secrets from me so hey, I feel I can have one, too. It made me see red when he told me I wouldn’t be able to sell my art so I told myself that l will start getting my art out there.
Another passion of mine is reading and since being discarded, I just haven’t been able to concentrate on text. However, audible has been another life saver for me. Self-help books was what I started listening to and now I’m also reading other genres.
It’s a pleasure to be here and thank you for your time.
Hello, my name is Louise (L.E. Lacaille) and I am an author and a reader. I do not get as much time to read and write as I would like.I have recently released my first novel "The Time Gene". I work full time in teaching. I am interested in science, theology, literature, and I enjoy hillwalking. I am working on my second novel in the series, which is a time-travel fantasy.
I would love to follow/friend other authors. If it sounds like something you would enjoy, feel free to check out my book on GR, and my website at www.lelacaille.com.

Great to meet you. A 9 book series! That sounds amazing.
Wow, Sherry, that sounds fascinating. I've always been curious about Aisha. Will need to check that out!
Keep writing, Paige! I have just released my first novel (time-travel sci-fi) and I would encourage you to keep going as writing can be a disheartening game at times. You'll get better as you keep going!
Poor you. I'm glad writing has been cathartic for you. Sorry to hear that. Glad that audiobooks and writing/art have helped you.

Hi, everyone!I'm Danie. I just wrote my first ever book. It's a YA fantasy novel whodunnit novel with a thrilling whodunnit and a whole new magical world to discover, but at the center are the protagonists, trying to deal with grief, change and finding who they are and where they belong.
It’s going to be released on Amazon, September 21st.
And I’m so excited but so overwhelmed. It’s been a long dream of mine writing a book and can barely wait.

Good day, My name is David Solo, and published my first book, A Solo Father's Life Journey. This is a biography/memoir of my journey as a Solo Father and how can two come together for the child/children they created.
A Solo Father's Life Journey chronicles a surprise beginning to fatherhood and then all that entails after the parents separate. This is a father's perspective through the years of raising two children as he faces the challenges and obstacles presented by the societal mindset that where children are concerned, it is a mother's world. How can a father achieve residential custody of his children and eventually change the paradigm of "Mom is the primary caretaker and the Pops is the weekend Disney Dad?" Achieving this while ensuring children are not badly affected by any negativity, hatred, and conflict is a powerful adult dilemma.
What avenues and pathways are there to make sure the children in this situation grow up in a loving, caring atmosphere after a split that was no fault of their own? A child is a gift, never a hindrance. How can two work together as one for the greater being of their children?
