Goodreads Authors/Readers discussion
Introduce Yourself!
Hi there! I'm Kayla Cunningham, and I wear many hats in my professional and personal life. I also just released my romance novel, FATED TO LOVE YOU. Hey....as most of us are new authors, would anyone on here be interested in buying each other's books and reviewing each other on Goodreads and Amazon (honest review)? I just published my first novel in July. It's a contemporary romance. https://a.co/d/i6DgnjY
In addition to my teaching career, I also volunteer as a Hostage Crisis Negotiator, where I utilize my skills in communication and conflict resolution to help others in challenging situations.
Currently, I am pursuing my Ph.D. in Teaching English as a Second Language, which aligns perfectly with my passion for working with diverse learners and facilitating language acquisition. When I'm not immersed in my studies or teaching, you can find me enjoying flying lessons with my husband. It's an exhilarating experience that allows us to explore the world from a different perspective.
Traveling is a great love of mine, as it allows me to meet people from different cultures and gain a deeper understanding of our world. I have had the incredible opportunity to host six boys from China, which enriched my understanding of Chinese culture and deepened my appreciation for intercultural connections. Through my travels, particularly in Asia, I have been fortunate to immerse myself in vibrant communities and learn from the diverse perspectives I encounter.
Born in San Luis Obispo and raised just outside the beautiful city of Santa Cruz, California, I have always been drawn to exploration and understanding. I am an advocate for exploring issues of racism and current events, particularly the rise in Asian hate crimes exacerbated by the pandemic. It is crucial to shine a light on these pressing issues and work towards a more inclusive and empathetic society.
Fated to Love You marks my debut as a contemporary romance novelist, and I am thrilled to share this new endeavor with readers. I have recently completed the second installment of the Chasing the Comet series, and I am currently immersed in crafting a captivating YA fantasy trilogy titled Storm Breaker.
If you're curious to learn more about my writing and stay updated on my projects, feel free to visit my website at https://kaylacunninghamauthor.com/. I look forward to connecting with fellow book lovers and sharing my literary journey with you!

Hi!My name is Isha Patel, and I am a sophomore in high school.
Whether it was reading fairy tales, going to first grade with Junie B. Jones, or becoming friends with the BFG, reading has always been a huge part of my life. But while the average middle-class family owns around 13 books, yet there is only one book for every 300 children in Chicago’s underprivileged areas. While I had the privilege of expanding my vocabulary and developing skills like critical reading through books, thousands of kids are denied the essential skills of perseverance, empathy, and knowledge that thrive when reading.
You have the power to make a difference in a child's life.
I have partnered with Bernie’s Book Bank to host a book drive/fundraiser. Bernie’s Book Bank collects, processes, and distributes quality new and gently used children’s books to significantly increase book ownership among under-served infants, toddlers, and school-age children throughout Chicagoland.
It would mean the world to me and these underprivileged children if you give up one day’s worth of coffee and contribute to Bernie’s mission. You are providing them the opportunity to reimagine the world and explore their imagination and individuality. For every 2 dollars you donate, you will add one book to an underprivileged child’s personal library and bring magic into their life.
Please let me know if you are interested in bringing attention to this mission by emailing me at isha070708@gmail.com, and I would be happy to give you further information on how to help.

Thank you so much!

Hello,My name is Robin Bunton Morris and I am excited to announce my first book is now on Amazon, Kindle, and Kindle Select! The book is titled, The Big Ranch in the Ozarks, A journey of the Greatest Generation. After ten years of journaling my adventurous parents' journey through the Great Depression, World War II, and post war eras, the book culminates with the Erwin family fulfilling their dream to purchase a 2000 acre ranch in the Missouri Ozarks in the 1960s. I tell stories of my life living in rural America on a ranch through the eyes of a child. The stories are both humorous and some unsettling. My hope is for this book to be informative, humorous, and brings the reader back to a time very different from today. https://a.co/d/dQC6Dp4 is the link. Hello Goodreads Community!I'm the coauthor of the nonfiction book Dematerialized: The Mysterious Disappearance of Marcia Moore.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/1637580762
Marcia Moore was an heiress to the Sheraton Hotel fortune. She could’ve lived an affluent socialite life like Paris Hilton. Instead, against her parents’ wishes, she dedicated her life to her burning passion—metaphysics and the occult. She was an adept astrologer, a master of yoga, a past-life regression practitioner, and an accomplished New Age author. But even this wasn’t enough. Marcia Moore’s final project was experimenting with the psychedelic drug ketamine to reach a higher state of consciousness, following in the footsteps of psychonauts like Timothy Leary. That is…until she vanished on a wintery night in 1979 near Seattle. Overdose, suicide, murder, kidnapping and other wild theories ensued for over four decades. Now find out the truth.
If you’re interested in an intriguing mystery to curl up in bed with, we hope you’ll consider Dematerialized. This isn’t a tale from the outside using newspaper clippings. We obtained the casefile, dozens of family photos, collaborated with the lieutenant who worked Marcia’s case, and unearthed new sources and documents that reveal a shockingly different story than you’ll find on Wikipedia.
Don’t buy this book if:
You want lots of forensic gore.
You need an airtight conclusion.
Do buy our book if:
You like mysteries.
You have an open mind and think for yourself.
You’re interested in a tragic tale of exploration, family drama, deception and betrayal.
You’re open to learning about the colorful life of an adventurous woman.
We hope you’ll take a chance on a strange case like no other! Please do not hesitate to ask me questions directly. I’d love more dialogue with readers.
Sincerely,
Joseph DiSomma

Good morning. My name is Oscar Fiz, from Spain. After years of learning about criminology, with countless courses covering diverse topics such as public safety, road safety, forensic science, terrorism in all its forms, police investigation, criminal profiling, and more, coupled with my experience in community policing and operational response with the National Police, I understood the need for a hobby to escape from the harsh reality at times. This is how my passion for reading and writing was born. I am a professional book devourer, and now... a novice writer.
My first work, "Cave Lupum," a title derived from my former unit's motto, is an initial attempt where I challenge myself to prove that, while I may not become the best writer in the world, reaching millions of people, I can at least have one person read my work, thus becoming a tiny part of their life.

Hello . . . my name is Kim Blank (though I have mainly published under "G. Kim Blank"). I'm an English Professor, and have published quite a bit in all kinds of genres. But this is my first foray into commercial fiction, and therefore I'm hoping to drum up little interest by announcing my new novel, The Watchers' Club (Sunstone Press, June/July 2023). It is a coming-of-age/mystery novel in the tradition of Tom Sawyer, Stand by Me, and To Kill a Mockingbird. Anyway, I hope a few of you check it out--or even get/review a copy--or order it for you library. And, of course, any feedback is welcome. Thanks. https://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/the-...
