Kevin Bouyer | 1 comments Hello,

My name is Kevin Bouyer and my debut mystery novel, Relocation Disclosure, was recently published on Amazon. The one-sentence book summary is noted below.

A family's worst fears are realized after their relocation to a perceived dream community is far from what it seems.

"Ambition is the path to success. Persistence is the vehicle you arrive in." Bill Bradley

This quote personifies my journey with writing this novel from beginning to end. It was a twisted journey, full of challenges, but I persevered and made it to the finish line of becoming a published author.

I'm new to Goodreads and would love to hear any advice on the best way to bring awareness to my book and build a solid following. I'm also looking for readers to engage with my book and offer reviews.

Thanks for allowing me to join the group and I look forward to interacting with readers and authors.

Thanks,
Kevin Bouyer

Hello Tanya! I just became an author, and I am hoping to learn more about marketing.

As an avid reader, where do you go to learn about new books? How do you choose your next read?

I am trying to see how I can connect with more readers.

Patricia Kirk (pat23) | 43 comments Hi: I'm Patricia Annalee Kirk, Author of Beloved Prodigal, a Christian Historical Fiction novel. I've been a member of Goodreads for years but got away from it and now I'm starting over. Really need that first review for this book ( an almost new rewrite). Without it I'm just Ms. Anonymous. It's free on Kindle. You can find it on:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BZDMJ1S3

It tells a "might have been" story of Jesus' friends Lazarus, Martha, and Mary. Why did three single siblings live together when a woman yearned for a family and children? What derailed their dreams?

I love realistic, mostly vintage art and my Pinterest account carries art and facts about the first century. Visit if you want to.

After giving myself a headache, I couldn't find the artists on two paintings. Giving away paperbacks to the first person who can tell me who painted them.

Nice to meet you all.

Stephen Blumberg | 5 comments The Eldritch Tome: Volume I

Hello, I am Stephen. I just published my first book! It is a fantasy novel that leans towards dark fantasy. It is called The Eldritch Tome: Volume I. This has been a 14 year project for me as I initially started in while I was deployed to Balad Air Base in Iraq in 2008.

I have been writing in some capacity most of my life. I was had ADHD and I struggled in early grade school a lot, but writing always held my attention; creative writing especially, as I have always been partial to the ability to purely create outside of the bounds of assignments with hard rules to stick to. I grew up in New England and spent my childhood mostly friendless - just one or two friends at a time. I was very antisocial. I would go play in the woods often, with sticks, pretending they are swords and pretend to be in modified fantasy worlds of Japanese Role Playing Games (JRPGs) that me and my friends would play on Super Nintendo. These kinds of games filled my mind with endless intrigued and mystery; limitless possibilities as my imagination was captivated by these fantasy worlds and their story-telling. This was how my universe was born.

I was raised by a single mother and after she married my step-father, the rule of his house became - You join the military and serve after high school or... you are more or less disowned. So, I did. In Iraq, this novel started as a way to entertain my Airman friend group. But then I got sucked into it and instead of going to the base pool and rec center all the time on my single day off, I was in my "pod," typing away. This novel draws inspiration from my childhood experiences and the great authors I used to read as well as my military experiences in Guam, Utah, Qatar, and Iraq. I wrote the first half before returning stateside and then life resumed. I got out in 2010 and learned to fly helicopters and didn't pick up writing my book again until 2012 after my girlfriend found my rough draft on my PC at home and thought it was decent (relatively speaking.)

I spent the next decade rereading and revising every other year and dealing with the distractions of life in between. You know, things like having children, going to college, discovering the electronic music scene and learning to produce music and DJ. Each time I came back to my book, it was like reading it brand new. In 2020, I really started to believe in my writing and myself and made the push to revise and edit my work into a publish-worthy manuscript, and now, here I am. My world has gone from a fun and surface level idea, to a living and breathing universe with its own countries, kingdoms, cultures, religions, politics, economics, races of beings, and creation myths.

These days, when I am not writing, I am either working as a nurse or hanging out with the family. I enjoy emotionally evoking music, mixing music, playing DnD with my kids and my family friends, playing good old video games on console, playing space sims, watching good movies, and paddle boarding out here in the PNW. It's nice to meet you all.

Fred Madryga | 53 comments Hi, I'm Fred and have introduced myself before. There is an address for the publisher's information sheet concerning my book; "A Pathway to an Ending"
I have received many offers to write reviews of my work, but I noticed none of the offers mentioned its title. When one is trolling in fishing one may have hopes but one can't decide which fish one gets, except in a very broad sense.
The information sheet is what will come up if you look, and it might help one decide about reading it, or reviewing it, if they are at all interested. I'm sure the book won't be for everyone, but there might be a part of it that connects. It contains short stories, or essays, and is disguised as a memoir. It is roughly chronological beginning at 5 years of age and traversing about 7o years from there.
Cutting and pasting the URL worked for me.

Sophie Lipton | 8 comments Hi! I'm not sure I've introduced myself before, but if I did it was a long time ago so I might as well do it again :-)

My name is Sophie Lipton, and I'm a writer of speculative fiction and non-fiction aimed to young audiences and the young at heart. I hold degrees in Fine Arts, Marketing, English as a Foreign Language, and Design, but I've been writing since my school days - first to entertain my classmates, and later writing non-fiction articles for newspapers and magazines.

In 2017 I started "A Curious Culturalist", a monthly bilingual blog about arts, science, culture and education. You can find it on Twitter @ACC2blog

In 2021 I published the middle grade novel "Sarah and the House of Mysteries", about a nerdy 13 year old who is so desperate to be popular that she ends up accepting a bet to spend the night in a haunted house. You can find it on eBook and Paperback editions on Amazon.

I'm currently preparing the launch of a Young Adult Science Fiction novel, "The Last Tree". Set in a distant future, it's an eco-conscious science fiction story with a lot of heart. If you're interested in receiving an ARC for reviewing purposes, please click on the link: https://sophiemlipton.wixsite.com/hom...

I've always been a storyteller, and nothing makes me happier than to connect with others through my writing, to share ideas and spread positivity.

Thanks for the chance of introducing myself! I'll be glad to get to know more of you and your work through GoodReads and other social media channels.

Cheers!

Sophie

Natalia Semko | 1 comments Hello,

My name is Natalia Semko. I am not that new to Goodreads, but new to commenting and joining the group. I have always been an avid reader, except for the years teaching AP English Composition. Plenty of daily reading essays left little time for reading for pleasure. Nor could I read much last year while finishing, editing, and formatting my book. Forty years of teaching, especially in California inner-city schools, inspired the memoir published a week ago on Amazon. I would appreciate if you checked it out and shared your opinion with me.

Jane Rubin (wwwjaneloebrubincom) | 5 comments Hello. My name is Jane Loeb Rubin and my debut historical novel debuts today. In the Hands of Women (Level Best Books), is the first of a two book deal. A riveting historical suspense novel, the story centers on the life of Hannah Isaacson, an obstetrician in training, determined to improve medical safety for women in a time when women had few choices. This carefully researched work, set in Baltimore and New York City in the year 1900, when birth control and abortion were both illegal, leaves us contemplating whether history is repeating itself.

With the advent of obstetrics and anesthesia as distinct fields of practice at the turn of the twentieth century, hospital births rapidly gained popularity. Midwives, who previously cared for these women, began supplementing their shrinking incomes with abortions, sometimes performing dangerous midterm abortions with disastrous consequences.

Hannah, a devoted women’s advocate and suffragist, finds herself overwhelmed by the ignorance and medical needs of her patients, poor and wealthy. She is determined to make a difference and joins Margaret Sanger in her crusade to overturn the restrictive Comstock Laws prohibiting birth control. After coming to the aid of a woman dying from a butchered abortion, Hannah is charged with murder and sent to the terrifying Blackwell’s Prison to await her trial. With the support of influential friends, including the female trustees of Johns Hopkins Medical School, she challenges the Governor of New York with a novel proposition.
