John Kelly | 3 comments Hello everyone. My name is John. My wife is a high school librarian, my father a history teacher, my mom an elementary school teacher and I am a former bookseller. That translates to LOTS of books in the past, present, and future.

I can read just about anything but my go-to genres are mystery, thriller, fiction, science fiction, and horror.

Favorite authors include Jeffery Deaver, Brad Thor, Matthew Rielly, C. J. Tudor, Mark Greaney, Larry Correia, Brandon Sanderson, Peter Clines, Robert Jordan, and Andy Weir.

I just finished A Sliver of Darkness, The Twenty, and Hunting Time.

I also just started a book club on GoodReads - The Librarian's Husband's Book Club - check it out if you are interested.

Caroline Deighton | 7 comments Hi All. My name is Caroline. I am professional artist and have recently stepped into the world of being an author. My first novel young adult fantasy The Jewel of Arcturus has been recently released.
So far it's been received very well will 5* reviews on Amazon and here, on Goodreads.

If you like reading the likes of Brigid Kemmerer, The Curse so Dark series, this maybe for you.

When Leah discovers a dusty old chest hidden away in the attic, the truth about her grandmother's past starts to unfold. Driven by visions in her dreams, Leah leaves the comforts of twenty -first-century England for the brutal life of medieval Arcturus. There she discovers that her life has been predetermined to intwine with two warriors and a young carpenter. Together they set out to rid the kingdom of Alina, Leah's aunt. With only the words of an old magical book which writes warnings of the future, they aim to destroy Alina and the powerful stone she has used to hold the kingdom within her shadows.

Where winds blow so cold they can freeze the warmest of hearts, can love find its way through?

Russel Fox | 2 comments Hello fellow readers/authors. I am a pastor and biblical counselor that has a Christian devotional with a publisher due out hopefully next month. Another devotional is written and is in a very rough draft, but I set that to the side while I work on two other projects. I enjoy reading very much and have rated several books you may or may not be interested in.

Caroline Deighton | 7 comments Hi there.
I'm new to Goodreads and would like to connect with like minded people.

I'm a self-published YA fantasy writer. My first novel The Jewel of Arcturus has just been released and I'm working on the sequel.
My work you could call, escapism. Fast paced, full of twists and turns. Twenty-first-century meets medieval.
I love strong characters where you get to know their personalities and emotions.

The Jewel of Arcturus is available on Kindle and Amazon. If you would like to know more about it.

Thank you.

I wrote a book on how to multiply multi-digit numbers by 9 using your fingers. I know it sounds impossible but its actually quite easy. Can I please get some some advise as to who I should be marketing this book to, does it solve any problems or do you think I'm beating a dead horse with this book?

Greetings. I'm Lou Wentz, author of a new book, a fly-fishing memoir titled Tributaries: Fly-fishing Sojourns to the Less Traveled Streams . Though the genre is fly-fishing I think it has a great deal of cross-over appeal, with themes covering vegan philosophy, mentoring, aging, love, Zen, and introspection. I'm looking for readers interested in reviewing the book. I can pass on electronic copies to those interested. Contact me via goodreads messaging. Thanks.

Joseph Carro | 4 comments Greetings, everyone!

My name is Joseph Carro, but you can call me Joe. I've lived a strange life full of torment and adventure. By the age of 10, I'd already seen my first dead body. By the age of 30 I'd already been divorced twice. I was once completely on fire, and I spent time in the foster care system, and I also once won a Boston Globe Scholastic Art Award.

I'm from Maine, and I've been all up and down the East Coast. I lived in New Hampshire for a time, and just recently in Mobile, Alabama where I became locally famous on TikTok because I like fried chicken. I was invited to restaurants to eat for free all the time, and I was even given an entire day at a theme park with everything paid for.

I used to head a paranormal investigation group called Ghost Gumshoes. I've been in a movie with Kelsey Grammer, and I cosplay as Obi-Wan Kenobi/Lt. Riker/ Jareth the Goblin King / Star-Lord / and Billy Butcher - mostly for the kids but also because I like doing it (It's landed me in the news quite a bit).

Now I'm back in the North, living in Woodford, Vermont on top of a mountain inside the infamous Bennington Triangle, home of a swath of mysterious disappearances.

I'm a freelance writer and editor who holds an MFA from the Stonecoast MFA Program, and I'm co-author of The Little Coffee Shop of Horrors Anthology 1 + 2 as well as After the Burn: A Post-Apocalyptic Anthology. I have written for various blogs and online magazines including itcherMag, and I've been the American editor for the French comic book series Rage: Bane of Demons by Glyphs Productions. I'm now Community Manager for Headless Hydra Press, and one of the editors at Rogue Owl Press.

Anyway, that's me in a nutshell. Good to make your acquaintance.

Hani Bruce | 2 comments Hi everyone, I'm Hani from Australia. I've just published a children's book about a Police Constable Dill Pickle who cracks cases in the fridge! It was a blast to write and was illustrated by my talented husband. It's called PC Dill Pickle: The Case of the Missing Bear for anyone who's interested :)
I'm on Goodreads to connect with other indie authors and, of course, readers too! To be honest, I've been a bit overwhelmed by the scale of content living on this platform, so hopefully, I'll get the swing of things soon...

Congratulations on publishing your book. I took the time to read a sample of PC Dill Pickle and it is very clever. I especially enjoyed how you have made it engaging to the reader by adding clues as to what will happen next. I wish you great success with your children's book.

message 20349: by Bobbie (last edited Dec 03, 2022 06:41PM) (new)

Bobbie | 4 comments Hi everyone! My name is Bobbie Falin. I'm a self-published author with 4 books released over the past 2 years. I also have a science fiction book in Vella.
Although I love writing, I admit--it is tough. But marketing is even tougher! I hope to learn some skills from fellow authors here. Right now, my focus is on getting my $#!) together on a newsletter and story magnet. Suggestions are appreciated. In exchange, I've done a lot of research on other aspects of writing and would love to help others out in any way I can. Maybe we can help each other.
I would also like to give a shout out to all the fantasy readers on Goodreads. God knows we authors need your love and feedback! Any comments you make on my work are deeply appreciated.

These are my fantasy books:

Fantasy
Taking the Stars (The Starchild Series Book 1) by Bobbie Falin The Ly Kai draw their power from their Birthstars but Kaphri's has never answered her. One night, in frustration, she goes out beneath the night sky and demands a response. The force that answers is not what she expects...
Taking Control Part 2 in the Starchild Series by Bobbie Falin An ancient evil is rising. The Geffitzi warriors are willing to put their lives on the line to defend their world, but the ancient Wyxa do not consider them worthy of the task. The swampdwellers' solution, however, could destroy them all.
Taking the World Part 3 in the Starchild Series by Bobbie Falin Frax warned Kaphri about the Eldren—how the ancient races did not think the same as the Kep's Second Children. As Araxis looms closer, manipulation by ancient powers has created a misunderstanding of intent and the heart between Kaphri and Frax.*

*I am currently working on the 4th and final book in the series.
