Thank you, Vincent! I am excited to join this group. I am a reader and writer. I've recently published my first children's book, Daddy Loves You: a story of enduring love during incarceration. Drawn from 35 years of teaching and working for Child Protective Services, this story is intended to help start healthy, healing conversations that validate the experiences of children who have an incarcerated parent and build understanding & empathy in peers. My goal is to get this book into the hands of teachers, families, law enforcement, therapists and agencies serving families. I'd love to have members review the book!

I'm new but have already enjoyed my first visit to the discussions.

Michael Solomowitz | 3 comments Hello to my fellow GR Authors and Readers! Thanks for having me.

I love to read and usually have two books going at the same time -- one for my leisurely afternoon read and the other for helping me relax at night before nodding off.

My debut novel, BEHIND THE FOURTH WALL, was just published by Black Rose Writing this month. It's about a New York playwright who comes to Cape Cod to escape the grief of losing his family. Surprisingly, it's not a downer. Please read the recent reviews on Goodreads for a better idea.

When I'm not reading or promoting my book, I'm working on my second novel that centers on post-War Coney Island, where I grew up. Past lives have included time as a Sport Journalist, Playwright, Cable-TV and Hollywood Writer, and Copywriter. Becoming a published Author has been my final frontier and I've enjoyed the entire ride.

Yashita Sudhir Hey everyone, I'm Yashita Sudhir, a 14-year-old first-time author from India. My favorite hobby is reading, and I've been doing it since I was four or five, which is nearly a decade! I have a zillion other hobbies as well, and I love trying new things! My favorite book series is Harry Potter.
I started writing stories when I was around eight, but I finally wrote and published a book a year ago. My book is titled 'The School Tyrant.' Although I've published it, I haven't had many readers, so I joined Goodreads to get to know more authors and readers who would read my book. So I would really appreciate it if you read my book and give it and honest review on Goodreads and Amazon. :) And maybe you can even follow my author profile for more updates or be friends?

Jason Wood | 1 comments Hey everyone!

Great to be a part of the group! Reading and writing have played a major role in my recovery from an eating disorder.

Inspired and empowered by the storytellers and advocates who started the important conversation around mental health and eating disorders, I knew I needed to add my voice to the conversation. I set on a mission to help others and raise awareness.

I never imagined I'd actually write a book, but here we are!

I combined my passion for advocacy with my love of writing, opened my heart up, and proudly self-published Starving for Survival in January.

I look forward to connecting with you all!

Cheryl Schuberth (goodreadscomcherylschuberth) | 1 comments I am Cheryl Schuberth & live in Colorado. I have one published book, but since it came out I've realized how much I love to write mostly non-fiction! I have a couple more ideas in the queue.

One experience can change everything, but we almost never recognize it in the moment. We often back away from challenges thrown at us when we’re comfortable on the current path. We need to be intentional about whether to make the turn or stay the course. Make the decision to step up, or let the opportunity pass us by. Not accepting the challenge is a decision to stay where you are.

Amy Nordhues (httpswwwgoodreadscomamynordhues) | 4 comments Hi there! I am the author of Prayed Upon: Breaking Free from Therapist Abuse. It is actually FREE on Amazon now-Feb 2-6, 2022. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09HR9TN3N

Prayed Upon is the story of one woman’s escape from the abuse of a respected, church-going psychiatrist. Amy reaches out to Dr. Dolion for help with depression, but instead of providing healing, he leads her down a path of deception and betrayal. His office, which initially feels like a sanctuary, becomes a psychological prison, one from which Amy will have to fight to free herself.

Prayed Upon, a true story depicts Amy’s journey from victim to thriving child of God. Her brutal honesty provides an inside look at the warped beliefs that early abuse instills, beliefs that make adult victims vulnerable to sexual predators. Her story shines a light on the under-reported sexual abuse of adults and ultimately the way victims can gain freedom from the bondage of shame that abuse leaves behind.

message 19495: by Archer (last edited Feb 05, 2022 06:55AM) (new)

Archer Earl | 4 comments Hello There.

My name is Archer Earl, author of 'The Honorable Executioner.' I haven't won any awards but i did win a local award for speedrunning Gex: Into The Gecko, which in all honesty, is more impressive than winning an Oscar.

I like writing stuff that are inspired by real figures and are set in real places. My debut novel is about an executioner in Italy. When i began writing this novel i told myself to not portray the executioner in a stereotypical way - we all know how executioners are portrayed in entertainment: they are scary, emotionless and are meant to look like real killers.

In my debut novel 'The Honorable Executioner', the executioner is a farmer who takes care of animals in his free time. Instead of portraying the executioner as a tough man, i portrayed him as a broken one. I wanted to write about how damaging an executioner job is on someone who doesn't want to kill. I wrote a depressed executioner, someone who hates himself, someone who has barred himself from civilization and lives alone outside the city gates.

The Honorable Executioner is coming out on May 3, 2022 and you can pre-order here: https://www.amazon.com/Honorable-Exec...

Read the description, look at the cover and decide for yourself if you like what you read. Thanks for reading and have a great day.

Laura Hart (lobopub) | 6 comments This isn’t an introduction, rather a re-introductory missive! My name is Laura Hart and I joined Goodreads a decade ago as a new author and submitted the first two novels, ‘The Toy Sorcerer’ and ‘The Final Prophecy’, of my trilogy, ‘The Ancient Knowledge’.
Thank you kindly to those who reviewed and requested the books and my apologies to all who reached out to stony silence. Cutting an epic life story mercifully short, my sudden and lengthy disappearance had all sorts of excuses like, leukaemia, death, business survival hell and relationship disasters thrown in the mix. No, not entirely book material, but the last decade furnished me with plenty of life’s extremities to include in book three of the trilogy. Yes folks, I’m writing the third instalment and it’s going to reveal many astonishing, irrefutable truths. But, in order to decipher the truths of book three, you need to read books one and two; all journeys need to begin before they can end . . .
I’m humbly requesting reviews from Goodreads people once more. Please do visit my page . . . many thanks in advance folks!
The Toy Sorcerer
