Lorrie Reed | 2 comments Hi everybody. My name is Lorrie Reed. I've got a new book coming out soon. I've pasted a brief description below. Let me know what you think. Thanks!

Pressing Toward the Marks of Ministerial Leadership is intended to help you broaden and deepen your awareness of what it means to be an effective ministerial leader in the 21st century. Chapters in this book provide an overview of theoretical frameworks and practical principles that have stood the test of time and are descriptive of what occurs in most organizational settings. Thought-provoking workshop exercises at the end of each chapter address the needs of adult learners and foster critical thinking, effective communication, and creativity, along with the ability to sustain effective and ethical relationships in evolving congregational settings. Examples in this book grow out of the author’s experiences since 1980 as a researcher, leader, administrator, teacher/professor, ordained minister, and change agent. Major topics include the nature of your call to ministry, methods for theological reflection, and elements of Christian worship. Further, the book examines theoretical frameworks for leadership, administration, communication, and teaching, along with other processes associated with serving at the helm of an organization. As a result of reading this book, you will become better at problem-solving, analysis, spiritual self-empowerment, promoting justice, and developing critical consciousness about the linkages among faith, leadership, and service in your organizational setting.

Kathleen O'Brien | 2 comments Hi, I'm Kathleen O'Brien, an enthusiastic reader and an author.

My book, Reclaim Your Right to Grow Old: How to immerse yourself in, be curious about, and celebrate life's most important stage, is in the midst of a Goodreads book giveaway, a first for me. I'm new here and getting a feel for the platform.

There are so many engaging readers' and authors' comments, and I hope to add a few of my own. I'm not sure if my photo will pop up once I post this, or whether my book title will automatically show up underlined and in green type, but we'll see.

Vickie Trippe | 9 comments Hi, Vickie here, new to Goodreads so please excuse any party fouls and tell me the acceptable way.

Self-published author trying hard to work on marketing.

Different genres published: 1 quirky & creepy short story book, 2 kids books illustrated & written by me, and most recently two adult nostalgia fun picture books: 1 for Gen x, 1 for Boomers.

Looking forward to being a part of and learning about Goodreads.
THANKS!

Kendi | 7 comments Hello! It's nice to meet you!

I'm just a reader at this point but I'm currently trying to perfect my skills as a writer. Key word "trying".

I love books that take you to a different world and ones that make you fall in love with the characters. My favorite genres are Fantasy, mostly of the epic kind, historical fantasy, mystery, and action/adventure. I also like romance, but I'm extremely picky when it comes to the romance genre.

Here's a blurb for the book by a New York Times best-selling author Dianne Hales:

Adele Lande | 22 comments Hello! My debut novel, Opal Song, is a medical drama with humorous and suspense elements, written by a doctor. Set in an opal mining-town and based on South Australia's Coober Pedy, this is the story of a young trainee-surgeon who flees her lover to work in this remote place. Here, the magical sediments of an ancient sea run in seams below the shifting desert sands. All is well until tragedy strikes. Will opal magic be enough to shed chains of guilt or recrimination? This story soars across three continents: the UK, Australia and India. Each character has secrets, just some are darker than others ... Take a look on Amazon!

Gary Diamond (goodreadscomgarydiamond) | 21 comments Harbinger Island My latest review.

From a protagonist who indulges himself in investigating cases right after his wife got murdered to an island where the death rate is gradually increasing every day, this book has to offer you a lot. This saga of thrill and suspense is absolutely unputdownable.
The story revolves around Detective Inspector James Copperfield who, five years after losing his wife, is invited to Harbinger Island for a dinner party by a billionaire named Richard Harbinger. The island is aloof from the rest of the world as the island has no access to any communication. James along with his daughter, Stevie and his detective sergeant, Baxter McGovern decide to go along with the evidences and follow-up the increasing death rate on the island. However James end up discovering and impassable connection between the deaths on the island and his wife's murder.
The plot and the story line is absolutely amazing. The twists and the turn in the story synched well with the plot. Before starting any murder mystery or crime thriller will it really hope to not find impractical twists and gladly you will not find anything impractical in this book. The background setting, characters, twist and the climax, everything just synched well and made sense.
The language is lucid, making it a comfortable read for the beginners. recommended to everyone especially to the people who love reading murder mysteries and crime thrillers.
