message 19113: by Patrick (new)

Patrick Jefferys | 10 comments My name is Hugh Patrick Jefferys, known as “Pat “. I am a practising advocate, living in Durban, South Africa where I enjoy one of the finest climates in the world. I came to write a book called “Jurors “Say Ye” which was published on Amazon late last year. I have done no marketing of any kind thus far. I pretty much wrote the book for my children and grandchildren as I have come to believe the world is in something of a mess.

I chose the title of the book as it calls for a decision from the reader, as though sitting as a juror in a court. In making a decision a juror in a civil matter applies the evidential test on “a balance of probabilities”. In a criminal case the test is more stringent and that is whether the State has proved its case “beyond all reasonable doubt”. I call on the reader to make a decision based on those tests.

In discussion one day I came to realize there are very few Christians who are aware of the underlying fact which substantiates and proves the faith. That lack of knowledge makes it easy for others to attack the faith. The book is in two parts. The first part provides fact evident concerning the universe, the human body and Biblical prophecy as substantiated and proven by archaeology. The second part looks at the current state of western morals. I hold no qualifications in theology, hence a simple look at fact. I also consider, in passing, the incredible power of the media and the scientific journals which suppress any information or articles et cetera which threaten a non-faith idea or belief. Unfortunately, I missed the Trump issue which is an “in your face” example of the enormous power of the media.

I am currently writing a book which establishes the fact that modern technology has destroyed the theory of evolution albeit, alas, not the enormous power of the media. This book may be a little late as there are a substantial number of scientists who have already addressed this issue. What I am doing, though, is setting out the fact in layman’s language as scientific fact can be very difficult to understand.

Hi, everyone!
My name is Julia Brewer Daily. I am a debut author with my novel, "No Names to Be Given," that launched on August 3rd.

I am in the throes of marketing and writing my second novel. Will try NaNoWriMo in November to give me a hard deadline!

November is also National Adoption Month and is the theme of my book. "No Names to Be Given" begins in 1966 with three women who meet at a maternity home in New Orleans to relinquish their babies for adoption. A thread of memoir runs through the book because I am one of the adoptees from that maternity home.

Check me out at www.juliadaily.com. Glad to be a member of the group!

Julia Daily | 3 comments The best marketing I have found is pre-launch place a giveaway on GoodReads. You may give e-books or print, but print may draw more people. You can have thousands of people sign up for a few books and when you hit your launch date, all those people who signed up for your giveaway will receive notices that your book is available. Very cool.

However, with the reported mail delays, I only hope my lucky winners will get their copies before Xmas! From Down Under Tasmania to the States and Canada - how long?

Just-Thony | 1 comments Hello everybody, I'm Just-Thony, I'm the Authour of Deep inside a Psychopath's Mind, this book is a Psychological Thriller, and is avalable worldwide, on print and E-book since 14th July, and of course also avalable on Goodreads.
Other than Author, I am Poet. Lyricist. Inventor. Craniosacral practitioner. Hypnotist / Hypnotherapist. Aura reading. Reiki. Healer. Distant- Healer. Past life therapist. I also do Regressions and what is known as Psychometry, many of you would wonder what Psychometry is. Well, for those of you that do not know about it, it means extracting information, with our hands, from almost any type of object, that information can also be anything concerning the person who wears, wore, carries or carried that/those objects.
I have seven books (of different topics) ready to be published, and the one that now is avalable .
As an Inventor, right now I have five approved inventions, and I'm waiting to pay all or at least one patent to start the process of giving license to the manufacturers of my inventions.
Relating to Aura reading: This not only means to read the auras of persons or animals, but, at least in my case, what we could call clairvoyance. I know that lots of persons still see those habilities as a remote possibility, but in my case I have shown and proved not only to myself but also to many persons its value and feasibility.
I want to describe Deep inside a Psychopath's Mind:
It is a Psychological Thriller I wrote with Psychology and Psychiatry in mind, and the two main characters are final year students of Psychology and Psychiatry, and each chapter addresses any type of psychopathic behavior, all clearly described, torture, murder, cannibalism and all kind of physical and psychological torture. lots of students of Psychology / Psychiatry will enjoy this thriller, also good for Psychologists / Psychiatrists and for those who wish to know / read and perhaps learn what lies deeply in the mind of a true Psychopath.
The title of the book "Deep Inside a Psychopath's Mind" says it all, because in fact, I delved very deeply into the minds of psychopaths to find out what a true psychopathic mind could tell us.
The E-book is on sale for only € 7.99 and on print for only € 19.95

Brandon Tosti | 1 comments Hi everyone. I am Brandon Tosti, a newly self-published author. I always wanted to write a book but I let my ADD hold me back and never pursued my dream until I received a phone call two years ago.

My college roommate and best friend called me with the idea to collect my best Facebook posts from the past decade and print them as a book. I laughed at him and told him no one would want to buy a book based on social media. After a few minutes of listening to him plead his case, I jokingly said I guess one could say my material is similar to the style of a Chicken Soup for the Soul book but a minor league version. He laughed and said, "Exactly! Do you know how many books that guy sold!" We both shared a hearty laugh and I told him I would think about it and let him know.

Two weeks later, a high school friend, sent me a note and mentioned my Facebook stories were like a fireside chat to him. He reminded me that we are not getting any younger and I should write a damn book!

Two years later, I am learning as much as I can about the book industry and enjoying the struggles and small wins as they come. Since the book was about my friends, I felt it was best to donate the proceeds to various charities, once we covered the initial expenses.

Who We Meet Along the Way is a disarmingly charming ride through a kaleidoscope of heartfelt tales and hard-won wisdom. The journey takes the reader from the rugged hills of Eastern Kentucky to the jagged peaks of the Colorado Rockies. As we go, author Brandon Tosti introduces us to lessons learned, hardships overcome, and the gentle understanding that family is waiting to be found wherever you go, if only you’re open to finding it.

More than a decade ago, author Brandon Tosti began sharing short stories about his daily life on his social media. His initial goal was to spread positivity, but over time he found himself with a collection of uplifting pieces spanning his midlife. Among his posts were the details of the founding and fulfillment of a New Orleans-based non-profit aimed at replenishing school sports equipment post-Katrina; his young wife’s battle with breast cancer; the love and support of friends and family as he juggled the efforts of caring for her, taking the lead parenting role for two toddlers, and full-time work; and funny, touching anecdotes from years of coaching youth sports. It added up to the story of a life well-lived at its midpoint. Tosti’s humble, to-the-point style is instantly relatable, and readers will see themselves in his experiences and relationships.

Charles Harris | 20 comments Hi everyone,
I’m new to Goodreads, nice to meet you all. My name is Charles, 40, and from the UK. I love reading and writing. I’m a huge science fiction fan, I can’t get enough of it! I’ve recently finished my first novella. It's called The Save Humanity Project (sorry for the shameless plug). I generally just write for myself. It’s such a wonderful thing to do and I find the process so cathartic. Lots of us have struggled with mental health issues during the pandemic. I have to admit that writing has been such a source of comfort. I’m sure many of you feel the same way.
Anyway, I just wanted to say hi.
Thanks,
Charles

Juliet Rose | 3 comments Hello! I'm Juliet Rose, living in Georgia (US), originally from NY. I am an author and avid reader. My contemporary fiction novel, Do Over, is currently out.

Synopsis: Samantha Rutliff has spent her life trying to stay in the middle of the road, running when things got tough and suffering from an undiagnosed dissociative disorder. After committing a terrible act, she ends up hundreds of miles away in a random beach town, with a large knot on the side of her head and all of her belongings in the back of her car. Determined to stay and start over, she takes a job at a beachside restaurant, which leads to forming a friendship with Smitty, a local lifeguard and surfer.

However, when a body is found in the ocean, a dark underworld of teen and young adult ketamine abuse surfaces, with Smitty at the center of it. Sam and Smitty lean on each other to cope until a secret comes out which threatens to tear them apart. Sam has to decide if she is finally ready to stay and fight for something she believes in or save the tiny bit of herself she has managed to find.

I also have a novel, We Don't Matter (LGBTQ+, suspense/coming of age), out in January, and another novel, Trigger Point (contemporary fiction) coming out in May with Adelaide NY. My website is authorjulietrose.com

Bryan Way (bryanway) | 1 comments Hello, GoodReaders and GoodAuthors! I'm Bryan, primarily of the latter camp: an author of virtually zero repute. By and by, I seek to improve that through good work and good interactions.

Generally speaking, I try to write stories with strong, distinctive characters reacting to difficult situations with a speculative twist. I'm a stickler for detail and try to imbue each work with as much verisimilitude as possible, because I believe conveying some truth through fiction is the most valuable thing a writer can do.

Other than writing, my longest held gig was as a video store clerk. I miss it dearly.

Most of my writing is in the Life After series, which chronicles a zombie apocalypse through the eyes of a teenage undead aficionado who gets more than he bargained for when the end comes his way.

I've listed my work below, which I'm always happy to provide for free in exchange for an honest review!
