Catherine Arthur | 2 comments Hello everyone,
King Oak is my first novel. I'm planning a series which will chart the change to a small community in Surrey, England, as the industrial revolution took hold and everyone got on the train and left to seek their fortune. It begins in 1780, and includes some real historical events, as well as a lot of fiction.
Just published on KDP.

Lucas McIntire | 3 comments Hello! I'm Lucas. I'm a new author having only written three books and very new to this site (it was suggested that I sign up, so I did lol). I'm 40 years old and live in Kansas. My Books are, in the order they were written, The Sentient; The Way; & The Sentient: Battlefield Mind.

Besides writing, I recently finished my bachelors degree in December, I also work full time, and activities I enjoy pursuing include: fishing, shooting, lifting weights, reading (I read non-fiction--kinda ironic since I write fiction lol), watching documentaries, and other activities as well.

Well, that's me in a nutshell. If you'd like to say high, feel free.

Luke M.

Guy Morris (guymorris) | 74 comments I'm looking to build friends and co-followers.

I am Guy Morris, an author of pulse-pounding thrillers, a researcher, lecturer, adventurer and retired exec.

I write in two themes or series: (SWARM Espionage, AI, cyber-security with tones of politics and religion or (Curse of Cortes) Adventure with themes of history, archaeology and myth relevance today. I've been KIRKUS recommend, which is an honor given to only 10% of indie authors.

What make my books stand out, beyond the pulse-pounding plot tension are the characters - pulled from my global travels. Rich, humorous, tender, intelligent and genuine.

Both of these themes come from my own life experiences. I would enjoy building friendships and connections to share.

Paul F. | 55 comments I have some of the very best novels that nobody is reading: "Against the Wild Green Range" about a 22-year-old young woman who inherits a cattle ranch in 1873 Wyoming Territory next to dangerous
Sioux hunting grounds; "West of the Sunset" about a young man's search for love on the Oregon Trail in 1852; "The One Who Loves You", about a young man who has two young women wanting him: one a selfish gold-seeker, the other a mute but supportive young lady who wants him to fulfill his dream of starting a cattle ranch; "The Gifts and The Fruits" about early Christianity vs. the Roman Empire (all 5-star reviews); and my first novel--"Freedom's Long March" about a barbarian tribe trying to remain free of the Roman Empire (4 stars).
The bottom line: I need to start seeing some evidence that the Goodreads platform really does help authors, and that time spent on this platform is not simply mere "wheel-spinning". My novels are available on Amazon and from New Friends Publishing.

Barbara Becker (barbara_becker) | 3 comments I am the author of Heartwood: The Art of Living with the End in Mind, and I want to share my Goodreads giveaway! https://www.goodreads.com/giveaway/sh...

GLORIA STEINEM said of Heartwood: "Though my reading pile is long and never ending, I happily made my way through Heartwood. In Heartwood, Barbara Becker tells the story of her own journey into understanding loss and love and so inspires us to follow our curiosity into a world that is both universal and a source of our uniqueness. Becker reminded me that life is an adventure of following our curiosity - that is, the voice of our true self - into the unknown world around us. And what could be better than that?"

Emma L Beal (emmalbeal) | 8 comments Hi all :) I hope that you are having a lovely Thursday :)

My Thursday so far has consisted of:
Discovering that the fridge freezer has died over night and all of our food has defrosted (more upset about the ice lollies to be honest).
Research for current work in progress.
Ordered a new desk and chair (very much needed).
Eaten waaaaaaaay too many crisps (they are my weakness).
and last but not least: I got dressed - hee hee - I work from home so it's not required normally - is it?

Have a lovely day :)
Em

Paul F. | 55 comments Goodreads needs to come up with some ideas for promoting books and making them STAND OUT from the crowd. I'm not aware of any positive results from simply posting about a novel that you or somebody else has written. And, no--I do not have hundreds of dollars for book giveaways.

L.C. Rooney (lcrooney) | 3 comments Hello, fellow writers & readers! I'm pleased to announce that the first novel in the Riley Russell Mystery Series, released on May 19th, is receiving excellent reviews!

As one early reader summed it up, "She's smart and tenacious like Kinsey Millhone, with a touch of the unmistakable New Jersey attitude and sense of humor Stephanie Plum fans will instantly recognize...fans of Sue Grafton and Janet Evanovich will find much to love about Riley Russell."

Here's a preview: https://lcrooney.com/secrets-lies-exc...
