I am a newly published author. My first book, First Legion, is the first in a story that is currently comprised of seven books, I think it will take 8 to twelve books to complete it. I am a retired veteran of the United States Navy serving at many duty stations to include the submarines USS Trepang(SSN 674) and the USS Boston (SSN 703).
Over my lifetime I have read many books. If you were to ask me to put a number to how many I would have to say that it is in the neighborhood of ten thousand.
The First Legion series is not the only story I will be writing. I have another SCI-FI book rattling around in my head as well as a fantasy story and they are nothing like my first.
Here is to hoping that you read and enjoy my stories.

Story of a Stolen Girl

I suffer from a rare progressive neurological disease called Friedreich's ataxia.
As you may assume, many people stare at me because I look different from an ‘ordinary kid.’ I feared many people and became hesitant about going anywhere in public for many years. Long story short, this title is my way of saying that I am now OK with the stares.
I write all about how I overcame that and many other fears in my memoir. I wrote this because I believe my story can positively impact others.

Hello!I'm a writer on Vancouver Island, British Columbia. My first novel, The French Baker's War, is out.
Occupied France, 1943. Returning home from the daily hunt for the rationed ingredients necessary to keep his family pâtisserie open, André Albert finds his four-year-old son in the street, his wife gone, and an emaciated Jewish woman cowering behind the display case.
I'm also the writer of the award-winning independent film, "The Dancing Dogs of Dombrova."

Hi everyone. My name's Gerry. I'm a writer - surprise! And a journalist and filmmaker. Former NPR and BBC radio guy. I have a novel being published June 15th, 2021. It's called Everything Turns Invisible. It resides somewhere between upmarket literary fiction and YA. I published a memoir of my NPR years ten years ago with HarperPerennial: Never the Hope Itself: Love and Ghosts in Latin America and Haiti. Also wrote a book about tree houses with the now-renowned Pete Nelson, published by Penguin - Home Tree Home: Principles of Tree House Construction and other Tall Tales. It goes without saying that I'm excited about my upcoming publication, and am just beginning the process of trying to connect with a larger audience. Glad to be here!

Hi, I'm Kesta. I love kidlit and I write stories, poems and plays for children. I have the 2nd in a chapter book series for ages 8+ coming out on June 1st called 'Marlow Brown: Magician in the Making', with a launch planned at the Melbourne Magic Festival in early July - very exciting! (If you live in Melbourne, please come!)
Marlow Brown is a girl with a zest for life and an enquiring mind. When an idea takes hold, she explores it. Typically her ideas spring from careers that do not have high female representation. (How many female magicians can you think of, off the top of your head, I ask you!?)
Marlow gets into all sorts of scrapes and is full of humour and determination. She's a fun character to spend my writing days with!
I'm excited to join this group and hope to connect with not only a wider audience, but also with those of you who are fellow kidlit lovers. I was new to GoodReads when my first book came out at the end of 2019, so I didn't use the platform as well as I probably could from an author perspective. I am hoping to fast track my learning and do better second time round, so if any of you with more experience than me have tips on this front or would like to connect, please do get in contact. Thanks for having me!

Hi, everybody! It's nice to be where the readers are! My name is John Crye, I'm a reader and Goodreads Author. I mostly read non-fiction these days - which is nothing I ever expected to love - but I write Fantasy Adventure. My love of Dungeons & Dragons and old pulp novels inspired me to release my novel - "The Elect Stories" - in serialized cliffhanger chapters. You can check them out for just $0.99 per chapter on Kindle (free with Kindle Unlimited.)
Hello! My name is Pat Spencer. I have been writing for many years. I invite you to read my international thriller. STORY OF A STOLEN GIRL is FREE! to Kindle Unlimited members, and the eBook is only $2.99 and paperback $12.99. I would be honored if you would post a review on Amazon. Below is the reviewReview dome by Kathy Woods, Editor, North County Daily Star
Story of a Stolen Girl by Pat Spencer is definitely a best-selling novel. This fictional, but real story for what is happening at this time, is full of horror, love, and bravery. Darby was kidnapped, drugged, and trafficked to another country where she was enslaved like an animal.
Each chapter moved back and forth in time and location and in circumstances from daughter and mother as the investigation progressed each day through the help of the authorities.
Enslavement and fear engulfed them as Nina, Darby's mom, searched for her daughter. Once she learned where her daughter was taken, thanks to the authorities, this mother risked her own life and willingly allowed herself to be kidnapped and trafficked to find her daughter.
"What would you do to rescue your child?"
I couldn't put the book down until it was finished. I read it every minute I had available till the very end. Will she find her? Will she be rescued? Will they escape and make it home, ALIVE?
Thousands of boys and girls are taken every day. Some will never be found. Kidnapping and human trafficking is a billion-dollar business and the victims, if found, are scarred forever.
Thank you, Pat Spencer, for sharing your book.
This MUST STOP! A must-read for ALL!

The best advice I can give is to write dialogue that is natural-sounding (not artificial and contrived) and to make sure that your different characters have distinct personalities. Paul F. Murray (5 novels in print)
Ruby wrote: "Hi, I'm Ruby. I'm currently writing my first book. If anyone has any tips, just let me know, 'kay. Specifically on book naming."I assume you're writing fiction. Yes, you want to have a good, distinctive name for your book, but the most important item on your cover is the picture on the cover. I would suggest a picture of one or more of your main characters, along with any background, rather than just a picture of an inanimate object or background. Make sure as well to have dialogue that is natural-sounding, not contrived and artificial, and make sure that your different characters have distinctive personalities. Paul F. Murray (5 novels in print)
My name is Paul F. Murray and my latest novel is titled "The One Who Loves You". It is a Western romance about a young man, Daniel Hackett, who has a decision to make: should he marry his selfish girlfriend who wants him to give up his idea to start a cattle ranch and just pan for gold and riches (for her), or should he switch to a new young lady he's met along the Trail, a young lady who is an expert rider and cattle herder and who supports his idea fully? His decision is complicated by the fact that this new young lady is unable to talk because of a childhood disease. She lets her riding and cattle herding skills do her talking for her. The novel is available on amazon and from New Friends Publishing. Paul F. Murray
Kindle Countdown Deal for this week. My debut novel is available on Amazon for 99p.If you love a great family story with strong characters and plenty of tears this one is for you.
