Elizabeth Baker (goodreadscomuser_elizabethbaker) | 1 comments My Name is Elizabeth Baker. I'm a multi-published author who has been out of the field for a while and I am new to Goodreads. In the past, I've published mostly Christian-based self-help books, but I also released one novel and a book of short stories. I've written both as an independent and through commercial publishers.

Currently, I'm semi-retired and looking forward to getting back into writing again. At the moment, I'm working on a self-help book titled, When a Man Has Let You Down; How to Rebuild Your World. It is due for release on April 2, 2021. Plans are to have it available in standard paperback, large print paperback, ebook for Kindle, and as an audiobook. I will be offering some of these through a Goodreads giveaway, so watch for it and be sure to register.

This will be my first new book in some time, but I feel fairly confident encouraging others and trust it will help a few folks. I'm a retired LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor) who has worked with families and individuals for 15 years, I also earned a Ph.D. in Religion and Society from Oxford Graduate School, and I've written 8 or 10 books through the years.

Looking forward to hearing from some of you. Check out my author page. You won't find any of my books available on Amazon (unless one shows up in a used book store) but I trust that will change in the next few years.

You can also contact me through ebbtidepublishing@gmail.com

I'm very new to Goodreads and, honestly, feel a little overwhelmed by it all. I'm looking forward to connecting with other authors. I'm especially keen to meet some illustrators and see their work. Cheers.

Maria (mariadj2020) | 1 comments Hi! Exciting idea for a group! :)

I'm a 23 year old danish girl trying to decide her path of studying.
I'm between studying to become either:
1. A highschool teacher in English (and either greek mythology, psychology, art or history)
2. Pedagogue: Working with kids with the age of either 6-9 or 10-18 in the after school club space.

But to study english literature at the University is currently my no. 1.

I love many genres of books. My goal with reading is enjoyment, knowledge and perspective in different eras, situations and minds. I read mostly classics and adult books, but has set a goal to read more fantasy and modern books. If a book sounds interesting, no matter the genre, i'll give it a read.

My goal this year is to read at least 100 books.
And this year i have started writing a book for the first time (fiction) with a concept i've had for years, so this group is right up my alley!

Maury Downs | 8 comments Hello again, all. If you do not want to DIY self-publishing, I may be of some assistance to offer my services. I am also an author (The Way You See Me Now) and I’d be happy to help you get published. At a minimum I suggest you do your own diligent research and be very careful! There are some helpful sounding correspondents that are indeed, disingenuous. Be safe.

Happy writing y’all!

J. Smith | 73 comments Hello everyone, I'm Doug.

I have always enjoyed reading, but allowed myself to be hoodwinked for years into thinking that if I was reading, it had to be for work--medical journals. Two years ago I traded the stethoscope for a basketball coach's whistle. Even though busier than ever, I've promised myself to never not be reading a book again. I have two going at once right now. I have a variety of interests.

I published my memoir, "Sorty Makin' a Doctor" a couple of months ago. I laughed, cried, and scratched my head while working through the project. I hope readers will too.

Claudia VERONICA Giudici (claudiavernicagiudicisbooks) | 6 comments ¡Hola! Mi nombre es Claudia y quiero contarles que escribir para mí es una manera de expresarme. Me permite crear mundos fantásticos y mundos reales.
Claudia.

Also I just finished A Court of Silver Flames (A Court of Thorns and Roses, #4) by Sarah J. Maas if that's count. Anyway what you guys read this week? Okay that's long bye guys!

K. Pimpinella Hi, I'm new to the group, and somewhat new to goodreads so I'm still figuring things out. I'm a female author who writes military science fiction, time-travel, using a male protagonist. And I love reading and reviewing books almost ... almost ... as much as writing them. Unfortunately, I've hit a slump when it comes to reading some good science fiction by new authors, and I'm looking to find one to turn that around. I'm a fan of Elizabeth Moon, Timothy S. Johnston and J.N Chaney.

Robert Drews | 96 comments Good morning everyone. I'm Bob Drews and am new to Goodreads, immersing myself back in the world of writing again after a couple of decades pursuing other interests but have never stopped reading regularly. I like a good mystery/thriller (Lee Child and Harlan Coben among my favorite authors), chest-thumpers by people in politics, and read the Bible daily. I also will read just about any novel built around Christmas. I wrote and self-published two novels 20 years ago, have finished a third one and am nearly done with a fourth, for both of which I hope to find a publisher/agent. Stay safe, and God bless.

Daniel Hull (deviant_imp) | 1 comments Long-time reader, first-time author! I just started writing a little over a year ago, and have fallen in love with it. Of course, not to do things half-way ever, I started with a trilogy. I'm writing book 3 now while editing the other two and prepping it all for self-publishing. I have a lot more to learn, lol. But that's all part of the journey, and so far, so good.

Gary Diamond (goodreadscomgarydiamond) | 21 comments Parthena

Hi. My name is Gary Diamond. I am the author of a book called 'Parthena'. It is a western styled adventure that links Victorian England and the Jack The Ripper murders, with the wild west of Wyoming. It is an adventure / mystery and love story.

I am pleased to say that, 'Parthena', has recently had a very nice review on Goodreads, which was very much appreciated.

I am also pleased with the interest and reaction I have received on 'Parthena', which is available now on Amazon Kindle at only $6.63 USD.

I am in the process of working on the follow up to 'Parthena', 'The Rising of The Phoenix' and will be able to concentrate on it more, once I have finished by latest novel, 'Harbinger Island', a modern-day thriller/whodunnit. This I hope will also become a series of my detective James Copperfield. With luck, I'm hopeful that 'Harbinger Island', will be available by the Autumn.

Jim Michaels | 3 comments Hello all,

My name is Jim Michaels. I'm kind of a new author, kind of not. I wrote my series eight years ago but I only recently started trying to sell it. It's a coming of age/juvenile delinquency/crime story, written in the same fashion as Trailer Park Boys. I'd call it semi-fictional if such a term existed. My presentation in this series could best be described as raw. I didn't hold back on anything and things get offensive at some points. For example, I met a skinhead crew in 1995. They were... terrible human beings. I'll leave it at that, here, but in their appearances in the series I show them unfiltered, as they were. There are many more examples I could use to describe how I write but I'll leave it at that.

Anyways, I'm super happy to be here with all of you. I have high hopes of not being a trucker anymore, but we'll see how it goes. I have a hard time with computers and modernity in general so my Wife assists me with much of the online work. She made my site and it's good. She's a good lady :)

Let's see... I have two kids, I served in the Royal Canadian Air Force, I'm a former civilian paramedic. I'm also a former juvenile delinquent myself. That's about it.

So that's me in a nutshell, a 21st century trucker hoping to follow in the footsteps of artists such as Harmony Korine and J.P. Tremblay. Thank you for having me.

And yes I am trying to select work from this site to read, for myself, at a later time. I'm swamped right now though. Also, to be honest, I haven't read anything in a long time. Since before I met my Wife. I'd like to get back to reading.

Here's the first novel in the series. It's called Foreigner. I'm really proud of it. This novel and it's sequel are the only works of art I've ever made.
