Thanks for welcoming me to the GoodReads Authors and Readers. I am a life long reader. As a child, I would check out so many books from the library I couldn't carry them all. I am also a blogger, poet, and author of Falling from the Moon. I like books that give me a window into a world I wouldn't otherwise experience.

speaking of avid readers and ARC readers, I just happen to be one. Its why so many great book authors have me review their stories just to see what I have to say.

She travels to Medellin, Colombia with Interpol to help track down the thief. An audiobook narrated by Campbell Scott and Kathleen McElfresh is also available.

Hi everyone, I started writing in 2004 when my wife nearly died of cancer. It was therapy and it made me laugh. Many years later and it's a book of short funny stories. The title is Life Seemed Good, But.... very apt. I was donating some of my proceeds to cancer research but now am giving to food pantries in hard-hit areas of the US. Please look at my reviews here and on Amazon and see what you think. Warning: it will make you laugh. https://www.amazon.com/Life-Seemed-Go...
Hi there! I'm an author based in Golden, British Columbia. I have two published novels ("Sky-bound Misfit" and "Butterflies in the System" - both YA/Contemporary fiction), as well as some short stories and opinion pieces. My favourite stories are those based in real life experiences, with something to say about society and why we behave and think the way we do. I enjoy novels that dive deep, but also those that can see the funny and more ironic bits of life.
For more about me and my writing, take a peak at my website & blog: https://www.janepowell.org
Also, I'd love to create a group with like-minded authors - to share our published work and review each others books. If you know of a group like this or would like to form one with me, please get in touch!
Cheers,
Jane :)

I just watched your video and your book looks amazing. I am going to show the video to my 2 year old granddaughter as she is an avid "bookreader" like her Nana. I expect she will ask Nana to buy her the book :) Much success to you!
My name is Colleen. I'm new here too. I love reading; mostly about natural disasters, shipwrecks, ancient civilizations, and wars. Most of that interest is driven by my past life connections to events and time periods. I write poetry; I wrote a book to help others with Bipolar; to understand it better. And I'm working on my first fiction. I have almost 500 pages of notes to organize and add description and background to. This is going to take awhile!
My name is Anne-Marie Madore I'm an avid reader and lover of books. I'm also a published author. My current book God Said, "I WILL" is a thought provoking book written to give hope and encouragement. I invite you to visit my website and blog:

I love books and interacting with other writers so I believe this group is for me.
Hi, Everyone!I'm excited to join this group. Thanks, Vincent!
My name is Ginny Fanthome and I just self-published my first book called Loose Gravel. It's a crazy road story of a fictional band on their first tour, and has thankfully been getting great reviews. I'm from Ottawa, ON but live and write in Toronto. I get my inspiration for my stories from time spent as a female drummer in many bands, from my time as a club and radio DJ, and as a music promoter. You can learn more about me, my novel and how to get a copy here:

Guess how my Writer's Block was unblocked? I got asked to write my mother's eulogy. The intense depression of a jobless pandemic is tough, but I do feel that this group might help fix that. Here's a novel I wrote for starters. (All my books are free!) https://www.moviesforyourmind.com/wom...
WOMAN WINE: (novella) A somewhat mad scientist, working with his team at the Hadron Collider, witnesses the tragic death of a colleague in a grisly accident. And with that death, the team miraculously witnesses the appearance of a soul, in the form of energy waves and particles, on the monitor. This handful of scientists knows what nobody else on the planet knows: it is possible to capture and contain a human soul. Then, serendipity strikes: Frankie is at a wine seminar, studying his favorite hobby, when he learns that wine can be improved by a process of oxygenation, whereby the wine is infused with molecules of O2. In a crazed epiphany, he realizes that he can, via oxygen, infuse a woman’s soul into a vintage of wine. The results are wild, marvelous, and terrifying, as the world wants the wine, and the Dark Web figures a way to make more wine faster. Dark. Original. Trippy. It will make you crave a drop or two. . . . . Ghosts, Skull & Bones Society, and nary a hangover in sight.
Anna wrote: "I always wondered how one gets a book to take the step to movie. Is it possible to do other than through a major publisher?"I'd like to push back on Paul's reply a little bit. Independent screenwriters are always looking for good material and I've known several who have personally optioned books. They prefer self-published writers because the rights are not already reserved by the publisher.
The financial arrangement is different. You'll likely not be paid by the screenwriter, but by the producer, if the screenplay is optioned and greenlit. A self-published book with a lot of fans and a great title has a decent chance of getting optioned, but the odds of seeing the movie made are impossibly slim.
So you've got lots of time to write your Oscar acceptance speech.

Hi all. I just joined this group and came here to introduce myself and immediately got sidetracked reading previous posts. I'm an avid reader who especially loves Magical Realism and Historical Fantasy and I'm looking forward to following some of my favorite authors.
I also write. I'm an optioned screenwriter and internationally-produced playwright, but I'm switching over to fiction and am in final edits on my first novel (Historical Fantasy/Magical Realism, of course).

My name is Elie Azar, the N. in my profile stands for my father's name, Najib.I am 27 years old, born and raised in Lebanon, I currently work as a financial reporter and I am a licensed (non - active) CPA from the state board of accountancy of the state of New Hampshire.
To me, writing is a safe space where I can freely express myself and let my emotions be.
A place where I forget my own gender, age and race, a place where my heart is the only boss.
Throughout the course of my life, writing has been my coping mechanism, writing about people and things that happened with me, and how I wish things could have been, gave me this sense of power and freedom.
Every time I write, I feel like I broke the chains of my chaotic silence.
I am a newbie self-published author and I hope to have your support/reviews.
Welcome to this very helpful group. You have an interesting profile. All the best with your writing.

Hello! My name is Don Dragovich. I have always found it easy to express myself through writing. My NON-FICTION book, "21 Days The Random Thoughts of a Brother in Mourning" started out as my way of dealing with my oldest brother's terminal cancer diagnosis. Every day I wrote down happened that day and how I felt. A co-worker read my "random thoughts" and I saw tears welling up in his eyes. He turned to me and said "Wow, you should make this a book". Three years later, in 2018, I was re-reading my random thoughts and all of those emotions came storming back. Tears streamed down my face. It felt like I was re-living this heartache all over again. Just then, a commercial for publishing a book came on TV. I took this as a sign to turn my emotional, random thoughts into a book. In Oct. 2019, my book was released. I'm still trying to get readers. The feedback that I have received is all positive. Everyone who's read it, said it made them cry and they could feel the agony that I went through. There's also an inspirational story within it.

Hello,My name is Michael James Scharen. My background is in science and technology. I have a B.S. and M.A. in Physics. I worked several years in the brand-new industry of high transition temperature ceramic superconductors, then as a manufacturing engineer building two-way pagers, then fiber optic components. Last year I finally sat down in front of the computer and started writing. I always enjoyed it even when it was technical stuff. This is something that I truly enjoy. I wrote 5 novels in less than a year. Now I need to figure out my website, so I can sell them! So far this looks like a very interesting website, and I've already had some exhilarating exchanges. I hope to find out more about what people enjoy reading and how open they are to new ideas. My books are science fiction with a good mix of politics, philosophy and real science that exists or is right on the cusp.
