Roger Bonner (rogeralanbonner) | 13 comments Hi folks,
This sounds like an interesting group. I'm an old guy, retired in 2015 from a government job and discovered how much fun it was to write stories and novels. So far I've published five novels and two novellas. As with most new writers, my sales suck, so I'm very interested in learning to promote my books. But my ratings are decent (for what that's worth). While waiting to be discovered, I'm in the middle of producing the second book of a three book sci-fi series... about a tri-sexual race of violent but benevolent aliens. Actually, it's not that racy, but I'm having fun with it.
And maybe I'll use that line somewhere.

Any advice as to promoting the book, as well as the others (Eye of the Star, The StarMind Alert, Starburst Over China) would be appreciated. Thanks.

Personal advice: You may find Goodreads navigation a bit complicated, even weird. If you do not know what to do, type your question on Google - you will find very useful information (most of it by the Goodreads team) on how to continue. I started this way and "the method" saved me a lot of time and disapointment...Welcome to the club and good luck!

Nick Ward (nick5) | 5 comments Left for Dead: The Untold Story of the Tragic 1979 Fastnet Race

Hi
MY first (non fiction) book took a gap of over 25 years before I was nudged into recalling the vivid memories of 1979, specifically the events of the Fastnet race. I was the 136th and last living survivor to be plucked by helicopter from the Celtic Sea at 2100 on 14th August 1979.
Publication of that co written book was a catharsis. The book went on to win several awards, after publication in 2007. Five editions later and I am writing again (three, fictional nautical thrillers).

Having 'suffered' a brain haemorrhage at age 15 I have written ... but not yet published ... what the experience of brain surgery and the consequential effects of epilepsy has upon the human psyche.
Does anyone think it would be worth reading?
btw it is entitled 'Delivery by Sea'
Thank you
Nick Ward (UK)

Roberta Seret | 18 comments Hi Everyone,
I am Roberta Seret from New York! I am writing books for 40 years.
https://www.amazon.com/Roberta-Seret/...

The first book of my new book series- Transylvanian Trilogy, Gift of Diamonds, is up for release on Feb. 23 2021 by my publisher.
The three books are so different, one from the other, and different than most fiction we know.
Please visit my Goodreads Book- ‘Gift of Diamonds”

https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/5...

Also please visit my WEBSITE FOR PHOTOS, MUSIC AND STORIES FROM TRANSYLVANIA.
TRANSYLVANIAN TRILOGY - transylvaniantrilogy.com/

And after you take a trip to Transylvania via my website, let me tell you why Transylvanian Trilogy is different:

Transylvanian Trilogy consists of 3 novels, linked together by the stories of four, female lifelong friends who grew up as teenagers in Transylvania and call themselves the Four Musketeers. – Poets of their Lives. Each book depicts a voyage of one of the women as she escapes her communist country to create a better life in her adoptive country. Three go to New York City, one goes to Paris.
While each story has its own sets of political thrills, they set our heroines on a different journey to find the missing, unanswered part of themselves—the parts which they truly seek. Their voyage of self-discovery.

The style of storytelling in all 3 books represent what I call a HYBRID approach: I mix Fact with Fiction. By Fact, I mean real historical and political events that the reader may or may not know about, with Fiction – a fictional story. The fictional stories involve one or two of the 4 friends. The women get involved in the Factual occurrences. They serve as vehicles to expose the history and politics to the reader. And within the fiction, I weave elements of mystery, love, romance, philosophy, and funny stories and anecdotes to lighten the plots. I mix it all with tension, humor, details of crimes and international spy truths. The goal is to make the FACTS more exciting, and the FICTION more real. To keep the reader involved until the reader finishes the entire story and asks what is real? Is this all TRUE? Is this Autobiographical? Is this Biographical? Whatever the answer, I have tried to get the reader to travel with me to a history little known, and political truths waiting to be discovered that have never appeared before in a novel. I hope the story is entertaining, educational and enlightening. It is a kaleidoscope of a different world, in a different style.
