Peter Topside My name is Peter Topside, and I am a newer horror author. I have written a trilogy, Preternatural, which has seen the first book released last Fall, with the second coming out in early 2021, and third in early 2022.

While not my full time career, I've always had a passion for writing and spent decades writing my trilogy. I have had a great time connecting with everyone on Goodreads over the past few months and feel it is a very warm, supportive community!

T.C. Crawford (tccrawford) | 30 comments Good morning!

My name is Thomas Crawford, but I go by T.C. Crawford. I am a writer, just recently published my debut epic fantasy novel in August. I've already posted the novel information in another post, so I won't talk about that here.

Besides my love for writing, I enjoy reading (of course!) fantasy novels specifically, but I have read other novels that were entertaining recently such as "The Dung Beetles of Liberia" which was a novel about a young American pilot who moved to Liberia for a job working as a bush pilot, mostly for cargo moving to and from the interior of Liberia. Very interesting read if you want to learn more about the culture and politics there!

I also enjoy hiking with my family, playing games with my kids, watching movies, and brewing mead or wine at home for fun (I have a peach wine currently ageing in my pantry!).

I am married with 3 kids (2 girls and one boy) ages 4, 10, and 11. I have a bachelor's in Business Management/Administration, and I currently work for a contractor that supports the DoD as a contracts specialist (tracking money for a contract).

I'm hoping this group will be a great way for me to fellow find authors and readers interested in my books, as well as for me to find indie authors such as myself who I can support and enjoy reading their novels and getting to know them as well!

It's a big world out there for authors, and the more we stick together, I think, the better we can make it!

Hi Preston, what is your book about? Pegasus brings to mind the Greek mythological flying horse. I take then that your novel is a fantasy, possibly myth/legend fantasy?

Would love to hear more about it!

Hi Jesse - first off - your middle and last name - awesome! (I know, I'm sure you've heard that before). What is your book about? I've never read a sci-fi book, however, I do enjoy the genre in film.

Nice meeting you, Kerri. I am Asa.

Steps a highly intelligent person takes:

1- When trying to guide or teach others, the fist thing you must have in mind is your own behavior. Don't talk about things you don't do yourself.

2- Don't talk about things which are based on opinion and popular belief. And don't quote the words of others like a parrot.

Elizabeth Rekab | 1 comments Hi everyone! I'm a YA author and a book junkie. I released my first two YA supernatural thriller books this year! I'm also a nerd, a music aficionado, and an avid traveler, so between conventions/concerts/travel, 2020 has pretty much killed the big trifecta for me this year. Which actually worked out, because it gave me extra time to focus on both my writing and reading. Anyway, just wanted to say HI and I hope you all are doing great!

Always looking for great discussion on literature of all kinds (reading and writing), and am excited to join a community of like-minded people.

Nice to meet you all!

Gregory Haynes (mamotgmh) Hi Nikki,

To me, it seems that a good place to start is by first building your profile. Fill in all the gaps such as author introduction, book video, book info and other websites related to you and your book. Then when they are in place, find the community groups on Goodreads and start posting your links and information. There are more steps on the journey, but these should give you a good start.

Happy adventures!

Alexandria Heberling | 2 comments Hi ! I’m Alex! I’m a first time author of a fantasy trilogy. I found goodreads trying to find people interested in my new book but after exploring I began to wish I had found it a long time ago when I had more time to read 😣 Between a three year old, a one year old, two part time jobs and TRYING to market a book while finishing writing the other two, I barely have time to read anymore and I miss it greatly! I have always loved fantasy and with such a stressful time for so many people I think it’s such a blessing to disappear into another world for a while. 🙂

David Wedge | 2 comments Vincent wrote: "Please introduce yourself! Do you write books? Do you just enjoy reading them?

Let us know a little bit more about who you are:"

Hi everyone. My name is David Wedge and I reside in Southern California. I wrote my semi-autobiographical, memoir, romance novel that was released October 15, 2020. The name of my book is, IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN ME. It's probably the only book I have inside me. I'm disabled and I don't think I have enough energy to write another. My debut novel took five years to complete and another two years in rewrites and editing.
I'm new to Good reads and don't know how to acquire friends or followers. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also, any marketing ideas would be appreciated. Thank you all in advance. Below is my synopsis:
IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN ME is a semi-autobiographical romance novel starting in the 1970s centered around a church with an awesome youth group. Dave’s a socially awkward, shy, and backwards teenager who finds it incredibly hard to talk to people, especially girls. Teenagers in his youth group slowly help with his inward inabilities.
Dave’s love for basketball is trumped by only one thing…his interest and infatuation with Debbie, who is very beautiful, outgoing and social. His best friend, Randy has the same intentions. Dave and Randy hunt, scuba dive, and work together. Randy has age experience on his side and is very persistent.
The love of Dave’s life, Debbie, marries his best friend after a twisted love triangle leaves him spiraling out of control with life, church, and God. Only a robbery and homicide can give Dave another chance with Debbie, but he was lost. Will he reunite with his only love?
Haunted by Randy’s death leaving a widowed wife and two young children, Randy visits Dave in dreams mocking him by marrying Debbie first.
In a final showdown with the deceased Randy, who tells us all to be ready for the Lord's second coming, the ending will surprise you!

Nicole Thorne | 3 comments Hi.

I'm Nicole Thorne. I love being an indie author!

I released my debut novel Chasing Butterflies in May and have followed it up with a prequel The China Doll.

I live in the UK. I used to be a teacher, but fed up with the endless marking and planning I packed it all in and opened a cafe, now I have endless food prep and dishes 😅.

At my cafe we have a free book exchange where customers can donate and claim books. It started with just a few, but now we have hundreds! We have books donated by indie authors too. I know being an indie author can be a tough gig, so I try to do what I can to support other indies.

I'd love to make more connections on Goodreads. I'll be honest and say that I don't really know what im doing, but if you have any questions or feedback about my books it would be great to hear from you.

Thanks for clicking my post.

Nic
