J. Speer | 2 comments Hello everyone! My name is Janea Speer. I go by J. Speer as my pen name. I have one book published through Archway that is a YA Fantasy Quest called Searching for Fire. During the pandemic time, I penned three more books.....one a short poetry book called Moment of Magic (super easy read), one is called A Covid Romance and is a collection of short stories written during the pandemic, and the last book is called Summertime Adventures which is a children's collection of short stories featuring Lucy, Danny, and Jake and their real-life adventures with imagination. You can find them on my goodreads page here. I work in photography framing for Mpix.com and I love gardening, writing, some reading, movies, interior decorating, and hanging with family/friends/pets. I hope you all have a great week! Thanks for the invite to post an introduction. Respectfully, Janea.

Joseph (josephjmiccolis) Happy Tuesday! I've spent a while establishing my platform at Twitter and after growing to 21.1K connections I decided it was time to strengthen my presence here at Goodreads. I'm sort of a slow reader unless I'm obsessed with a TBR story and cannot stop thinking about it. I've authored 3 stories and I'm writing two. After purging my Friends and Followers list on this platform I'm excited to make fresh connections and discover other readers and reviewers. Last, but not least, I'm eager to post interactive polls and blog posts and establish myself. I look forward to these opportunities and welcome you to invite a connection with me. (This is definitely more character space than Twitter!)

Theresa Wilson | 1 comments Hello Everyone, I'm Theresa V. Wilson, author of the Christian Fiction The Real Housewives of the Bible, to release September 2020 on Kindle. https://bit.ly/HousewivesOTBWebPage This book is a fictional journey of what might have been the behind the scenes events, that may have contributed to the journey of some women married to influential men in the bible.

Though this is my first fiction , I have several other non fiction books, both print and on kindle. I'm still learning to navigate Goodreads to upload the book as a current read. I hope everyone is doing well during our pandemic challenge, and l look forward to interacting.

Avery Davis | 4 comments Hello!

My name is Avery! I'm a somewhat-reclusive fantasy writer. I've published my first book, and the second in the series is soon to come out!
I would love to find an agent at some point, but my lack of social aptitude has gotten in the way of that thus far.
My books are all dark fantasy, though I can never resist including a fair amount of humour. Largely, there is a theme of hope for redemption in the darkest hour throughout my writings.
My very first book, A Thief's Lies: Volume One of A Thief's War, was a book I wanted to write for a very long time. Now I'm working on sequels, and despite having the social skills of a dead rat, trying to get it out into the public as much as possible.
Anyway, most of my life revolves around writing, and I really love it!

Linda Keteyian | 2 comments Hello everyone! I published my first book on my experience as a teacher in the Middle East. I was surprised to hear that many people, prior to reading, assumed it was going to be critical and mean. I'm happy to report it is neither and the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. I loved my time in the UAE and I wanted to share the friendships and adventures that made my time there so memorable. Yes, there were challenges; the culture is glaringly different from the midwest America I grew up in. But, that's the reason we travel, isn't it?

Janie Giambalvo | 3 comments Good morning, all!
My name is Janie, and I'm brand new to Goodreads! I want to become a faster, more attentive reader and hone my critical thinking skills. I currently edit my friend's fanfiction, and am interested in beta reading. If anyone needs a reader/reviewer, please let me know! I'm also currently working on my own short story inspired by the writing styles of David Wong and Joseph Fink.
I love narrative podcasts and read a lot of sci-fi and fantasy, but I'm open to all genres and suggestions y'all may have! I look forward to reading with you all!

Tony Graff | 5 comments Hello,

I'm Tony Graff, and recently (april) got my YA ancient war fantasy Warscribe on shelves. It started from someone saying "if you think the movie 300 isn't that good, then why don't you do something better?"

So I did.
https://www.amazon.com/Warscribe-Tony...
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/5...

My dream is to have the world of Warscribe, Kalimar, be as rich and as vibrant as Terry Pratchett's Discworld (I'm not as funny, though). If you don't like the Warscribes, check out the Indigo, or the Hedgehides, or the Ancestrals. find the ones you want to like and follow their stories.

Topher Edwards (topheredwards) | 2 comments Hi all!

I am a writer, having self-published three books so far. They are a part of a series called ‘The BPD Journals‘, a collection of journal entries chronicling my struggle to understand, cope with, and overcome mental illness.

The journals are unedited, unfiltered, and raw. So many people diagnosed with a mental illness feel alone and misunderstood - something I hope to change through my work.

Check out the first book in the series here:

The BPD Journals: A Year in the Life https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B018THBWMU/r...

Nice to meet all of you!

I've been writing for 10 years... and yes, my fingers do hurt for tapping away 10 years without stopping!
I have 18 books out and three more (I hope) before the end of the year.
My main achievement and best work to date is my Brittle Trilogy, The Brittle Sea, The Brittle Land and The Brittle Sky.
The Brittle Sea has been out just over a month and has some complimentary reviews, so fingers crossed for that.

message 16635: by Mirinda (new)

Mirinda Kossoff | 2 comments Hello Fellow Bibliophiles and Authors - My name is Mirinda Kossoff, and I've just published my new book: The Rope of Life: A Memoir, which is available on Amazon as a print and ebook and at bookstores everywhere. Website: http://www.mirindakossoff.com

How does heritage shape one’s identity and one’s life? Must we embrace it? Can we escape it? At the heart of this book is the mystery of Mirinda’s father, Hugo Kossoff, a New York Jew from an intellectual, cultured family who, after his service in WWII, settled in the South. He wound up in Danville VA, a town which proudly billed itself the “last Capital of the Confederacy” and was a place as virulently anti-Semitic as it was racist, though not overtly violent towards Jews. Hugo changed his name to Hugh, renounced his Judaism for Baptist fundamentalism, got a nose job and took on the trappings of a “good ol' boy,” affecting a drawl and chewing wads of tobacco. He prospered with a highly successful dental practice, but he was never fully accepted.

In The Rope of Life, the author traces her father’s life and its heavy impact on her own in an attempt to understand and then transcend the past. What caused him to turn away from his upbringing? Did he come to regret his choices and his marriage to a Southern Baptist woman nine years his senior? Hugh bore no animus towards blacks and often treated them for free but he did not buck the system nor take part in the civil rights movement that roiled the South, especially Danville, in the 1960s. What sent him into a downward spiral ending in suicide at age 56? Was it only physical pain or something else?

Rebecca Bruce (goodreadscomrebecca_bruce) | 14 comments Hi all, I am a new Author. My book is IRISH BONES....I am retired from a hospital job after 27 years then I moved on to Hospitality jobs for fun. I managed Hotels, Apartments and RV parks. My husband and I traveled in an RV seeing the beautiful USA for two years. My mother had the motto of "never be afraid to try something new" and "Learn something new every day". I have lived by those words. when I turned 18 my mother took me on a tour of Europe. Later she and I traveled to Ireland and I loved it so much I returned a few years later with my daughters. While in Ireland searching for ancestor links I was directed to an abandoned cottage by a priest. As I entered the cottage I felt like I knew the story of the people that lived there and thus I started writing my first Novel...IRISH BONES.

Marian Dribus | 1 comments Hi, my name is Marian! I'm an author of young adult fiction and I also love to read. My favorite book of all time is Les Miserables, but when I write, I seem to veer toward the young adult category! I love any book that really focuses on the characters. I'm excited to meet other authors (and readers who like connecting with authors)! I love talking about books and the craft of writing.

I recently self-published my first book, The Patient from Silvertree.
The Patient from Silvertree: Book One in the Silvertree Series

Here's a link to my website: (https://www.mariandribus.com). I'm also starting a blog on my website, beginning next week! It's a book review blog for young adult fiction written by self-published authors.

I'm excited to be a part of this group, and I can't wait to get to know everyone!

Michael Karabinis (mgkarabine) | 7 comments Well, hello there. Name's Michael and I hail from Greece—at least, that's what everyone says.
I still have a hard time proclaiming it, but I'm a self-published author and an avid reader of fantasy books, with Brandon Sanderson being my favorite author and a huge inspiration.
My current work in progress is a Dark Fantasy series called 'The Blood Chasms of Illustrander,' and it consists of 6 novellas and 2 novels, of which, 1 is completed (and released), 2nd one should be ready by November (80% done!) and the rest are in various stages of drafts. If everything goes as planned I should have 4 or 5 completed novellas by this time of the year, next year.
My general plan is to self-publish all 6 of my interconnected novellas, which act as an introduction to my main characters and world-building, then look for a traditional publisher for my—as of now—novel duology.

Nik Graveson | 2 comments Howdy, Nik Graveson here, pending author due to release Oct 24th. But I'm here for some help. I was on G.R. the other day, somehow landed on the new books pending release page and there were a few dozen I was scanning through but one caught my eye, it was by a female author who has a book coming out (taking advance orders) soon and it was a thriller/mystery novel set in New England in a girl's boarding house, the cover was dark red with maybe black in it? Like a blockhead I didn't save the link or the title or author or anything and I'd like to find it again. Like I say, it's in the upcoming releases somewhere. Can anyone help me find title/author? Thanks much.

1. How do you join new authors page...my novel will be published as an ebook...paperback and audio book within two months
2. How does one link my author website to goodreads.
3.How does one help new novelists who may need some great guidance.

I appreciate all help as we all need assistance as writers.
Respectfully submitted,

Somewhere on the site I recall seeing something about putting/adding a Goodreads widget (logo of sorts) on your site. Unfortunately I don't have the patience or time to figure out where I saw it. Perhaps you can do better.
