Ruth (ruthireads) | 1 comments Hello from Ruthi aka abitosunshine! I'm an eclectic reader. I'm also a poet and writer. I do like to write book reviews of the titles I read. However, I am months behind on my read and review ToDo's!

Timothy Davis | 58 comments Greetings, and thanks for this chance to introduce myself! I enjoy writing (and reading) books for young people. Before I went to college, I wrote In Search of Perlas Grandes and The Indian's Ruby, both published by Accent Books.

Afterwards, I earned my doctorate in English and became a professor of Children's Literature. Now, I have decided to return to writing the kind of books that young people read under their blankets at night.

I started by completely rewriting In Search of Perlas Grandes into Sea Cutter: Book I of the Chronicles of Nathaniel Childe, and I just rewrote The Indian's Ruby into Red Stone: Book II of the Chronicles of Nathaniel Childe. Both books are children's or YA historical adventure ebooks.

Right now, you can download the books for free at my website http://www.glowingstar.net/Timothy.Davis...

Thanks again for letting me introduce myself. Happy Reading and Writing! Best, Tim :)

John Wilson (goodreadscomjohn_wilson) | 6 comments I'm John Wilson, an ex-geologist, frustrated historian and the author of 31 books of fiction and non-fiction for kids, teens and adults. As I watch publishers go belly-up around me and wonder why they can't promote eBooks well, I decided to take some of my backlist titles and put it out myself, formatting, creating new covers and uploading. It's been an interesting experience and I'd be happy to share ups and downs if anyone is interested.

I am a novelist and a reader.

I am the author of My Novel Affair (a romantic comedy), My Four Fathers & Eleanor (a fiction memoir), and Epitaphs from the Afterlife (a paranormal love story), the Detective Casey Lattimer Series due out next year.
I did self publishing test runs but since I am unable to support myself that way I have turned back to looking for an agent after it was suggested by reviewers that my work could make it successfully in a publishing house. Here's hoping they are right.

Once my son returns to school there will be more reading. I do love to read just about anything but Sci-fi and heavy fantasy.

Kim Brittingham (kimbrittingham) | 1 comments Hi! My name is Kim Brittingham. I wrote a memoir called "Read My Hips: How I Learned to Love My Body, Ditch Dieting and Live Large" which was just published in May. I work in New York City and live in a tiny Victorian seaside town. I'm 40 going on...oh, I don't know...14? I still have dreams featuring the members of Duran Duran (as they appeared in 1984). Just last night I dreamed I was in a thrift store and found a new-in-package cardboard car air freshener in the shape of John Taylor and couldn't believe my good fortune. If it was possible to earn a living just being a college student, that would be my job. This past spring I took four courses at the local community college and it was bliss. I can't afford to re-enroll just now, but on occasion I pull up their online catalog and swoon. I've been unemployed since 2009, though I'm currently working a temp gig in a law office, which is conveniently located near a Pinkberry.

Lidia (lidiatheron) | 7 comments I am Lidia Theron from South Africa. I've published one book, Jy bly my Kind, which is written in my mother tongue, Afrikaans.

I am in the process of self-publishing it in English as well. I make use of Lulu.com for this purpose. The English name is You are still my child.

This book is a true life story about my gay child and how we as a family were affected by the reaction of the church and community.

I really hope that this book will do as good in English as it has in Afrikaans.
