Hello Fellow Readers and Authors,
I enjoy reading contemporary fiction and love flawed characters struggling to find hope in a difficult world. My debut novel, "The Grace of Crows," was published by a small press in 2013 and I'm currently querying my second novel.
Let us know a little bit more about who you are:"
I live on the Central Coast of California. My time consists on writing, walking my pit bull mix, and, of course, eating lots of chocolate!

Darci McIntyre | 1 comments Hi there! I'm Darci McIntyre and I love reading and writing contemporary romance. What I want is a strong female protagonist, a strong male (even better if he’s in a tux) and the fireworks when they finally get together. In the next couple of weeks I’ll be publishing my first novel, Seeing Red. I hope my readers will have as much fun reading it as I did writing it.

Ester (esterlopez) | 11 comments Hi everyone,
I've been a member for years as a reader and then recently published my first book, "The Abduction," a sci-fi adventure romance. I'm learning the ropes as a publisher too, while working on a second book. Since all this happened, it's getting harder to find time to just read.

Autumn Slaght Hello, I'm Autumn Slaght, and I love writing books. I've been doing it since I was about eleven and the love of writing has only continued since then. But other than writing, I love music, reading, autumn days and many other things that would take far too long to list. I'm, surprisingly, a little shy, so joining a new group is a pushing my comfort zone a tadsey...but hello to you all! *hides in shadows*

I'm Gian Kumar. I'm a spiritual author. A thinker by nature, the inherent confusion and dogmas underlying religion, gradually impelled him towards spirituality. Today, I'm deeply grateful for a journey filled with opportunities to learn about existential riddles such as: Who am I? What is my purpose in life? Is God an illusion? I hope to share my own experiential learnings with others through the medium of my books.

message 12526: by Poornima (new)

Poornima Dhiman | 6 comments Hello all, I'm Poornima. I recently self-published my debut novel "Arranging love, contemporary way!" It's a story of a young girl trying to find love while standing strong against the pressure of so-called "modern" Indian society where marriage has everything to do with age and a very little to do with love. The story which brings out the emotions in a very thought provoking way with a good mix of sarcasm, love, delusion and wits.
Glad to meet you all, looking forward to talking more.

Thomas Bruce | 13 comments Hi all. I recently self published: The Lodge at Bristlecone Pines. Here's a little bit about the novel:
You're never too old. Never too old to live, to give, to learn, to challenge yourself, to be productive and to share your life perspective. That is what Table 21 learns during their time at The Lodge at Bristlecone Pines. They were sent there to die but they weren't ready to give up on life. Share: The Lodge at Bristlecone Pines with your family and friends, the elderly, and those that care for them. It's inspirational, heartwarming and funny.

James Hartley | 71 comments Hi everyone,

My name´s James, I´m a writer and reader who lives in Madrid, Spain. I come from Liverpool, England originally.

Next February I´m going to be publishing my first Young Adult book, which is about a young boy at a boarding school who finds he can travel back in time to medieval Scotland. There he meets a girl who can also time travel and the two of them get embroiled in the plot of Shakespeare´s Macbeth.

I guess what I´d like to do in this group is get some advice from other Young Adult authors - especially if your books have a hint of history about them. Also, anyone who has written books which they think might be useful for kid´s to use in schools - as a kind of study aid, or to stimulate their interest in things like Shakespeare, which might seem alien and difficult to them.

I´d also love to know about any books or authors in this field.

Thanks everyone,

James

Michael Staples | 2 comments Hello everyone!

My name is Michael P Staples, I'm an author, radiologist and psychotherapist. What many people do not know about me is that I am also a Vietnam vet that was part of the EOD unit and a trained martial artist and one of the first journalists to study the martial art of Wushu in China and it's integration into the United States. While I have written as a journalist and a few books on martial arts, I just recently self-published a non-fiction narrative of my life called "Focusing Emptiness".

Enjoy and look forward to chatting with more of you in groups and discussions.

Hi, Benjamin!
I write Christian/Inspirational Fiction and I'm toying with a few nonfiction ideas. But as for content/genre, it can range from crime novels to a lot of medieval historical fiction.

Meliha Avdic (dunyaluke) | 3 comments Hello everyone,

My name is Meliha. I'm from Bosnia and Herzegovina, but since the war I've lived in the UK, currently in London.

I'm a reader and a writer. I'm also a civil society sector professional- from humanitarian to activist; yes, this means I'm handing out food, writing reports, audites, organising public discussions, protests, conferences, taking part in TV and radio shows, and lobbying politicians for changes. This is the worst job for an introvert, and best job for a writer. I have enough materila for a millennium.

I love literary fition. I mostly write fictional stories based on real events. Life and people inspire me. I also have great respect for knowledge, yet I know we are all very busy. I figured, if I can write entertaining stories that will teach my readers something about the world, then that's having two cakes and just eating both. Oh, and Now that I mentioned cakes, I'm crazy about chocolate and coffee. I make the best coffee in the world.

Ken Abru (kenabru) | 8 comments Hi, I'm Ken Abru.
I am an indie author, Self-published through Amazon and Smashwords. I'm not part of a community of writers and readers yet, but I would like to be. I am an introvert and thereby I do have difficulty meeting new people, which makes marketing myself excruciating. So, I'm trying to get myself out there and let people know about my book, "Prelude To Daggers".
I have always been in love with reading and delving into the author's imagination, discovering a world I might never have thought of. I also enjoy being that author that wants to bring readers into my imagination.
My focus right now is finishing a novel that I've been working on for a year and a half. It is a follow up to "Prelude To Daggers", called "Daggers of Zion". It is my dream to create a large and diverse series that can really bring this world to life.
So, that’s me. I'm started a journey that I hope will last a lifetime. Thank you.

Damien Black | 57 comments Hi everyone,

I'm Damien Black, indie author and avid fan of fantasy, mythology and history... I also delve into Sci Fi once in a while.

I have always been fascinated by myths and fables, ever since my RPG obsessive teenage years, and I love spinning my own yarns.... Jung said that the human race needs mythology to keep its darker inner demons at bay, and I find myself completely in agreement with him!

I'll keep it brief as I just wanted to say hello, but I look forward to having some interesting discussions on this and other threads in future! To find out more about my debut novel Devil's Night Dawning, please see my post entitled 'When Fantasy Becomes Mythology' in the Fantasy section of this group.

Thanks and let's keep reading and writing folks - it's good for our souls!
