Hi, Kristina, Sherry, Kirstan, Linda, Pearce, Mandi, Heather, Tarek, Louis, Wyatt, and everyone else. Sounds like there are some really great book projects brewing on a lot of fronts. Starting next week, I will be posting author interviews on my blog. If anyone is interested in getting a little extra exposure (a few thousand hits between my various sites every month), please friend me and message me here on Goodreads, leave a comment on my Facebook wall or my www.timgreaton.blogspot.com blog. You could also leave a note here, but I'm not particularly talented at finding my way back regularly to the various threads yet. You could also leave a note for my guardian angel CarrieRourke@focushousepublishing.com

Hello I'm Tee and I write romantic fantasy. I also edit and review books when I'm not writing. I have not long joined Goodreads and have been looking for a nice cozy group to join and settled on this one.
My writing history... I have written a trilogy of books about Shasta and Erasmus.
The first book is *Eye of Erasmus* - A time travelling lover with attitude. This has attained 5 star reviews on Amazon.
The second book is two for the price of one and is called *Shasta Summer* (Fresh off the press) - Bk 1 Summer visits her aunt in Shasta (a magical village)and discovers she has a hidden heritage. She ages to a young woman in a matter of weeks and is encouraged by her aunt to go back to her previous life to rediscover her past.
Bk 2 Summer regresses to her past life and tries to change fate in an effort to save her current lovers' life.
The books are published by Night Publishing and are on Amazon US and UK

Hi All,I realized that my introduction was not as it should have been so I thought I'd give it another try..
My name is Tarek Refaat, I am Egyptian and I work in the field of information technology (a geek in short).. I've always been fascinated by writing and putting my feelings down into words.. I have wrote several things but my first attempt at publishing was "Ruptured" the story of a raped victim who a year and half later attempts to get back her life within a society that looks at her like an incomplete person..The whole story discusses the social side which is a new angle..
I'm very much into reading but mainly history.. Because well the stories are just usually very touching..
If you get a chance to check out my book which can be found here it would be great..
I also owe you all an apology for a very brief and improper introduction so I hope you accept it..
Thank you
Have a lovely evening
Tarek

Hi, Ken—
Welcome to the group! I hope you strike up some new friends here. Tolkien and C.S. Lewis are among my favorite fantasy authors, too. I'm the author of a 7-title fantasy series that you might want to check out. It's for young adults and adults. You can click on my photo to visit my author page or go to: http://www.greencloaks.com. Maybe you can advise some of my younger readers how they can start a RPG with these books. I have no experience in that area.
Enjoy Goodreads!
Hey, I now have a blog about my book series(The Impenetrable Spy): http://spencerbrokaw.wordpress.com/20...Please check it out. Follow me on twitter:spencerbrokaw
Hello, readers and authors! My name is L. David Hesler, author of the horror/fantasy collection "Prismatica". I'm also about to release the first book in a planned YA fantasy series.
I am an avid fan of science fiction, fantasy, and horror. Writing has been my passion since the first grade when I looked forward to rainy days so we'd have recess inside. I took sheets of paper and created comic strips or stories to share with my friends.
I love the Chicago Cubs and was finally able to see them in person with my wife recently. In my spare time, I'm an indie musician and songwriter. When I'm not writing fiction, reading a book, or playing the guitar, I like to browse the internet for strange news or videos that might inspire a new story or novel.

Hey all, long time reader, first time commenter. My name is Patrick Atwater, and I love California. I'm a fourth generation California native and think this is the most fascinating place on the planet. I mean where else would someone think of putting Korean BBQ in a taco? Anyway, to make a long story short, I wrote a book called A New California Dream (coming out Sept 2011), which makes sense of this paradoxical place. I'm excited to be a part of this community (high tech entrepeneurs chasing their dreams = so Californian).
If you want to know more about me, check out my portfolio at patrickatwater.com

Hello everyone. My name is Rob. I’m a reader, games designer, programmer, husband, father and dreadful poet - exceptions to this rule are rare. I draw worse than I write poetry and do all my own book covers. I’ve published 2/3 of “The Serendipity Trilogy” and some other eBooks coming soon; a free one next.I just Googled [robinpgilbert] and got ‘About 927’ results. Feeling quite flushed now... although by page 3 it wasn’t me anymore. I guess I’m not the only me. Makes you think, that.
I haven't posted in a long time so I'm reintroducing myself. I'm Russell Brooks, from Montreal, Canada. I love to read, and I'm using Goodreads as a means of chatting with other authors, my fans, and making myself known to new readers.Russell Brooks

Hi Spencer, thank you for following me on Twitter, but, um, I see you unfollowed me already! You give me a good opportunity to explain how I do Twitter, for I know a lot of authors get on Twitter just to collect followers and flog their books (I don't know if that was your reason), which means they miss the best part of being on Twitter. However, I'm a Twitterphile, meaning I got on it to practice my short-form writing, follow interesting people, have great conversations, learn stuff, be pointed to good articles on a variety of subjects, and only recently, and a minor part of me tweeting, flog my books. I take a long time to check new followers. I'm just slow that way. So if people are following me, I'm hoping they do it because they find my feed interesting. Because if they do it to boost follower counts fast, they sure will be disappointed.Tim, thank you for the welcome!
Robin, I used to think I was the only me, then through Google discovered there's a doc in India with my name. The cheek! :P
Shireen wrote: "Hi Spencer, thank you for following me on Twitter, but, um, I see you unfollowed me already! I am now following you, again. And I have not really used twitter. I talk about my books, but if I had followers I wouldn't post about them so much. Thank you for your response. Again, sorry. But I liked the post about HDTV. I will post more about marketing etc. too.
Spencer wrote: "Oh I'm sorry, I didn't know if you would actually respond because I am only 12...."I had thought because of your age you may not know all the ins and outs of Twitter and certainly not know how long I take to check out new followers! I admit it, I'm slow!
The way I did it is I didn't know anyone on Twitter when I joined (though after going through the email thing with Twitter, I learnt I knew all of 4 people on it) and though I did have a book to flog, I pretty much didn't talk about it but about things that interested me instead (I like politics, news, venting about raccoons, tech toys). People started to find my tweets and began to follow me. Eventually I figured out how to find people to follow, the kind of Twitter feeds that interested me, etc. Only recently have I begun seriously talking about my books. It's a long process to get to the point where people, because they have become interested in you, start to become interested in your books. Basically, be yourself, not a marketing machine, and people will find you. It's a great way to practise your writing too!
I'm glad you liked the post about HDTV. Thank you!
Shireen wrote: "Spencer wrote: "Oh I'm sorry, I didn't know if you would actually respond because I am only 12...."I had thought because of your age you may not know all the ins and outs of Twitter and certainly..."
thanks for the tips, i will start doing that
Shireen, what is "flog" books, is that a pitch or something like that? I have to say that I sometimes will follow someone and then have to unfollow because my computer freezes when there are too many tweets on there. Also I have found that a few people just seem to say the same thing over and over again all day long. I have noticed within the last three weeks that people are doing more retweeting and sometimes that bothers me because again, it's too much for my computer. Yet I like Twitter better than facebook because it forces me to condense messages.
Hi I'm DaveI'm a fantasy and short story writer and just released my debut novel Fezariu's Epiphany and a small story collection Short Stories I-IV.

Mainly @Shireen - Using twitter to hone your writing is certainly one of the reasons I enjoy it; it's nice (in a sick-ish kind of way) to be constrained by character count instead of word count.I try and tweet something every day, but unless it's funny/poigniant/interesting, I dont. I also battle with possums (I'm in Brisbane) about which I tweet with a vindictive passion. I have 2 followers, both 'computers' I think. I did have a third but managed to give them the slip. :)
Now following you, ShireenJ!
Hi,I am KC Stone and I am beginning my second novel in the Emily Weston Series. Last year I decided that I had too many good stories (or bad depending on how you look at them) to just sit back and let them turn into old memories. So I started writing. Once I started, I couldn't stop. The words just poured out and before I knew it, "Replaced By a Stranger" was complete and ready for the world. Now I am just trying to find out if the world is ready for it!
I wrote this novel while drinking a good bit of wine at night, so it was gritty, honest, and at times straight to the point. Needless to say a lot of time went into editing it after wards.
So I guess to give you an idea of this novel and myself as a writer, I would have to say that it involves a dirty but sweet tasting affair, tears, heartache, forgiveness and the famous "Oh my God, are you stupid!?" question. Ok... maybe that didn't describe me as a writer, but maybe it did depending on who you ask. :)
That leaves me to where I am now.... hoping for the greatest book deal ever! Too bad Oprah isn't around anymore... I am sure she would have just loved to have it on her book list. ;) Ok... I am done kidding myself.
It was nice to introduce myself and please don't hold it against me.
KC Stone
