Ann Pratley (ann_m_pratley) Hi there, I'm Ann and I love writing, so far having self-published in Kindle four novels of an array of styles and types of stories, plus presently going through the kindle scout process for the third time. Being a shy person I find the whole marketing and 'putting out there' thing quite difficult so I list my work on amazon/kindle but tend to then sit back and if things happen, they happen, and if they don't, they don't - I still loved writing the stories I wrote!

Anyway, I am still finding my way around Goodreads as an author, but am particularly interested in connecting with other writers like me who want people to read their books but can't quite do the whole 'hey I'm here!!' kind of broadcasts to lots and lots of people.

Make contact with me either through message or friend request. I don't bite - promise!
;)

Jayme Blaschke (jaymeblaschke) | 2 comments Howdy folks! I'm Jayme Lynn Blaschke by way of introductions, and I'm a recovering journalist and professionally published author of fiction and non-fiction since 1997. My primary interest has been in genre--science fiction and fantasy--but my newest and most ambitious work is a narrative non-fiction history Inside the Texas Chicken Ranch: The Definitive Account of the Best Little Whorehouse.

Yeah, that's a pretty odd detour for someone with my background, but my publisher is excited about it and people seem enthusiastic. Believe it or not, "The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas" was not actually a documentary. Go figure!

In any event, I'm happy to discuss the Chicken Ranch, genre or pretty much anything else with anyone who has an interest in doing so.

Jordan Finneseth (jordanfinneseth) | 5 comments Hello Everyone,

My name is Jordan and I currently live in Santa Rosa, California. I currently have my own business as an Awareness Coach and Massage Therapist and recently decided to get into the world of writing so as to help teach what I have learned to a wider audience, and to my surprise, I actually just published my first book, Manual for the Soul: A Beginner's Guide.

In general, I will be writing non-fiction books, most likely dealing with self-help, spiritual, meditation, healing, wellness, and health related topics.

I had actually been in a funk for several years where I just didn't feel like reading anything, but after I finished my book I found that that feeling quickly went away, and now I am continually picking up new books that interest me, and my to-read list is growing. That being said, I am always open to new, fresh books, especially related to self-development and the exploration of the more mystical side of life if you have a good suggestion.

Erin Lockwood (erinlockwood) | 6 comments Hello! I am a new author, new to self publishing. I am also new to Goodreads and I love it!!! I'm so grateful there is a resource and community for someone like me.

Last year I learned how much I love writing after I discovered my love for romance novels. I'm an avid reader now and I can't stop my fingers from punching those keys and completing my three book series.

I've completed my first novel, Angles. It's going through the editing and proofreading process until fall and then I plan for it to be published early November.

I'd like to encourage people to like my facebook page, www.facebook.com/anglestrilogy. That way you can see the cover reveal, book quotes, reviews and updates for the release.

I really hope people enjoy Angles as much as I enjoyed writing it and as much as I've enjoyed reading other new adult romance novels.

Tatter Jack (TatterJack) | 4 comments I normally try to avoid joining a group, and immediately trying to start talking about me, or anything I've written (blush). But that's pretty much a requirement for this group - I'll just try not to blether on :-).
So what's a Tatter Jack when it's at home? It's a pen-name for an author who also writes in another field, but one used primarily for self-published work. Oh - and, I must confess, generally rather more, um, explicit work than the other genre I work in (blushes again).
And there you are. Or, um, here _we_ are :-). This is me - Tatter Jack. Some of you may have met TJ before in Another Place - in which case, it's good tae see ye again, elders and wise! And if you haven't - well, it's good tae meet ye also! What shall we talk about? :-)))

Hello everyone!

I joined the group a few days ago and actually forgot to introduce myself. My name is Matthew Culberson. My novel, After Life, was released this past week on the 5th. It's my first attempt at self-publishing, although I have written other books and tried the traditional route to publishing with those, getting ever so close to securing an agent.

Frustrated and simply wanting others to read my books, I decided to publish with Kindle Direct Publishing, as have many others.

Looking to make friends, get advice, and just talk about books. And, of course, if someone wants to check out my book that would be great too!

Have a great day!

Jason Bohne (revjbb1) | 1 comments My name is Jason Bohne. I am a children's book author. My website is: www.gallantthegoat.com

I also write novels, graphic novels, short stories and illustrated horror shorts under the pseudonym R.E.V.. I'm also an artist.
R.E.V. website: www.colttheclown.com

I decided to combine my works (Jason Bohne/R.E.V.) on Goodreads because I don't know how to separate the two on here. This might scare some folks away from my children's books but I hope not. I desperately need help with marketing and getting my stuff noticed. I love the creative process and writing but suck at the marketing stuff. Seems like everything I try doesn't work.

Any suggestions or ideas would be helpful. Thank you.

Like all authors I'm now doing the Internet dance of posting author links on blogs, drumming up promotional tools, and trying to figure out what to do next. I'm not quite sure how this all works, so I'm going to need some help. Thanks in advance for your patience.

So how exactly does Goodreads work?

Michael | 2 comments I hope I can count on you all to review my book. It's a fantasy set in a medieval world. Mykel, the main character is crippled with no mobility in the left arm. Originally, Chased By Flame was Act One of a six-Act series, but my publisher whittled it down to a One Act book. The rest of the Acts will be published soon, so CBF (Chased By Flame) serves as an introduction to the Eishi world. Have fun reading.

Hello there. Checking out a few groups to explore ideas with. Am currently drafting an ebook, about a love triangle, with a twist, with hints of the darkness in life, added. Written 40,000+ words, and need about another 40 pages or so to complete the tale, before uploading it onto Amazon. Also drafting a film script of this tale, two versions, that I am intending to send out to agents soon. Hoping to link up with some entertaining sorts on this website...

Michael Fattorosi | 19 comments Hello Everyone ! I just joined today... and yes I am a first time author - though a reluctant one at that. I love reading historical fiction, which led to me to a family genealogy project that has lasted 12 yrs - so far - and I am far from finished - which has now led to my first HF novel -

"Resurrection of the Scrolls"

A historical thriller tracing one family’s thousand-year journey from the Norman conquest of Italy through the First Crusade, their rise in power in Ravello, to their relationship with the Vatican to modern day America. It exposes one of the best kept secrets of the Catholic Church that if revealed could shake the Vatican to its core and destroy the faith of billions of devotees.

Thanks to the mods for making this group happen !
