Maria Riegger | 15 comments Hi! I'm Maria, currently living in the Washington, DC area, my hometown, although I've lived in the U.K., France and Spain previously. I read in English, Spanish and French. I read all kinds of genres, from historical fiction and nonfiction, to sci-fi, fantasy, paranormal, chick lit, thriller, legal thriller, etc. Am currently reading Dune (Dune Chronicles, #1) by Frank Herbert and just finished Defending Jacob by William Landay

I'm a Gemini and, true to the nature of that zodiac sign, indulge my logical, analytical side through my day job as an attorney as well as my creative side writing women's fiction with an independent edge. Being in DC, I can't escape weaving some legal and political topics in my fiction. Feel free to send me a friend request!

Looking forward to meeting all of you!

Susan Stevenson Hello! My name is Susan Stevenson. I've been a member of Goodreads for about a year now. Still working on scoping the site. I never realized how big it is. I live in MN and there is nothing like curling up on the couch with a good book and losing yourself in the moment. I'm into horrors, suspense/thrillers. I'm an avid reader, I don't write much other than in my journal. I'm hoping to change that though. Well, I can't wait to read new books and meet new authors!

Natacha Pavlov (natachapavlov) | 3 comments Hello,
I'm Natacha. I love writing; started with poetry but my focus are short stories, novella and historical fiction. I will say I quickly learned that writing for leisure and writing everyday (or as often as you can) are two different things ;)
I'm an avid reader and have been obsessed with books since I was a child... something I trust will not change.
Happy to be here and connect with other GR members!

Hello All!
I am, Tom Grant, a brand new author. You can very appropriately call me "Newbie". I am a very passionate man who believes a woman should never be taken for granted. I believe a woman’s true beauty lies within and not just skin deep. I believe every woman should be in touch with her “sensual side”. I’ve always loved sharing stories with people and have always had a passion for expressing my thoughts and feelings in writing. When I tell a story, I try to tell it with great detail. I try to paint a picture with my words in such a way that it enables the reader to feel as if they were actually there. I hope the people who read my stories really enjoy them and tell their friends about them so I can continue writing for a very long time.

I just published my first book on Amazon called "The Little Pink Book". I think it is definitely something different, yet an enjoyable read. Hopefully you all can take a quick peek at the free excerpt and let me know what YOU think? The Little Pink Book

Lukas | 1 comments “Better Dead Than Divorced” was the answer my aunt Panayota gave to those who knew what her unfaithful husband George was up to. Though they were married for 14 years, he was actively commissioning assassins to kill her.

She was aware of the risk, but she was in love, she was dedicated, and she was living at a time and in a place that forbade any woman from walking away from a marriage. My father, a cousin of Panayota and her protector, was the most knowledgeable about the danger she was in. Despite his urgings, she did not believe that she was in any danger and kept singing “Better Dead Than Divorced”.

I was an 8 year old boy the night that Panayota was murdered. The gun shots that killed my Aunt were fired near our house and I remember them awakening me. I would later find out that my father had to be held down and convinced not to take the law in his hands that night.

This book is my attempt to chronicle this dark time and the bravery of my father as he struggled to bring justice to the culprits in a court of law. He did so having to face down powerful elements in his community, the financial strength of the husbands’ Greek-American family, and the politically connected murderers. My father risked everything in his pursuit of justice – all of his savings and his very life.

Besides my memories from the events, I used court records, the newspaper articles of the day, and over 150 interviews. The book recently won the Nonfiction Authors Association Award for 2015.

Please feel free to message me with any questions about the book.

David O'Neill | 18 comments Hi Everyone,

I'm David O'Neill.

I was born in Essex, the South East of England, UK, but I spent some years in the North East as a young adult before settling back in Essex. I will admit to being an unashamed geek and have held many jobs in the IT world, mainly working for the NHS (National Health Service) as a programme and project manager.

Writing is a passion that has gripped me for many years, and The Oui Trip by David O'Neill The Oui Trip is my second novel. I'm already working on the sequel to The Oui Trip - there's more to be said about Bob and Joan Younghusband, and I will say it.

A proud Dad and Granddad, I consider myself a family man through and through. I also brew beer from the grain up, make wine from the plum tree in my back garden, and I am a bit of a musician. I play the guitar, bass, mandolin, sitar and bodhran with a modest amount of capability. That is, I can hold a tune, but that's about the limit of it.

Any claims to fame? Well, I used to a morris dancer and was in the film Calendar Girls with the Royal Liberty Morris Men. If you watch the film, listen carefully during the opening bit in the Country Fair as I played the guitar for the folk music you can hear. They were good times. We did a lot of TV way back then. I've hung my bells up now, though.

If you want to know more about the work I'm doing you can have a look at my publishing website. Berry O'Neill Publishing is a joint effort between a friend of mine called Chris Berry and myself. We have planned some writing collaborations, the fruits of that labour exciting and fresh, so tune into the website for more information: www.berryoneill.uk

Anyway, enough from me now - I hope you visit my work, and I hope you like it. Comments are always welcomed.

Regards to you all,

Dave.

I've been publishing my books for a little over 3 years. I don't claim to be anything even slightly resembling an expertt, and doubt I ever will be. However, I have a small following of fans, and those who read my books generally enjoy them, so I'm happy with that.

Anyway, if you want to know anything spacific, don't hesitate to send me a message and ask. I can't promise I'll have the answers, but I'll do my best to answer if I can.
