Thanks!
He's not the first I've lost - we've had pets around since I was a baby, and have naturally lost several over the years - but we had a very close bond, so his loss hit me harder than any of the others have.
Hello! In the last year, I've written & published my first novel. I'm now going through the hard part, finding my audience, all ten of them, haha. I am already 30% finished with book two, & have five others mapped out within the series. If you'd like to know more about me, check out my author page, or simply ask. I Am: Emptiness
Hi! I'm V.W. Singer. I'm an author with over 30 novels in publication. For the purposes of this group I'm only presenting my SF novels written under the pen name Bryan Romer. *whispers* The rest are erotica. Shhhh!
HiI'm Cara and I've just had my first novel published as an ebook. It's an Urban Fantasy Romance and I hope it will be the first in a series.
I'm new to writing but since I began three years ago I've got loads of ideas but just not the time to write it all down!!
I'm looking forward to connecting with likeminded people and learning how to navigate Goodreads!
Cheers
Cara

Steven wrote: "Hi Lenita I saw you sent an email to me but I couldn't open it. Best Steven Jacobson"I was just saying that I was glad to add you to my friend list, since you are a Christian. I've written poetry, too. One of my poems is entitled "Psalm of the Island" and is about Whidbey Island where I live.
Blessings,
Lenita
Hi everyone! I am a new Indie author and have been a member of Goodreads for a few months or so now but have been so immersed in the Goodreads world as a reader that I've not done a whole lot here as an author and so now here I am. So far this is a great group and I have only just begun to explore it. I have added myself to the author list along with my few self published books and look forward to connecting with other authors and readers.
Hi everyone!I write a cat blog where I post both entertaining and educational posts about cats. I also review cat-related books (nonfiction, humor, cozy mysteries, etc.) on my blog. I've had the opportunity to discover a lot of new and fantastic authors through my book reviews, and I'm really thankful for that.
I'm looking forward to getting to know some more new authors and discussing the books I've read with other readers here.
If you'd like, you can visit my cat blog at: http://fureverywhere.blogspot.com

Hey Beautiful People,I am Jasmine Anderson, poet, singer and now author. (Yaaay) I recently came out with my book Piece of Mind:Peace of Soul. I went through the struggle of self-publishing and appreciated every frustrating minute of it.
Taste Thoughts is my brain child of thoughts, poems, recipes, quotes created my yours truly and if you haven't checked it out already you definitely should.
Overall, I really would like to connect to some like-minded people and hopefully get some new "good-reads."

Hi all! I am Carlene, currently just a reader and blogger, with high hopes to finally author the book I've had in my mind for several years. I have a general life blog where I review 2-3 books weekly, but spend most of my time here on Goodreads.
Hi, I am Doug Oudin, and I may have already commented here, but not sure--this looks like a new post.I am an author, and an avid reader, and I love sports and my family.
My two books are 'Between Two Harbors, Reflections of a Catalina Island Harbormaster', a memoir chronicling my 32 years living and working on Catalina Island, including my involvement with the death of actress Natalie Wood.
My new book, a novel, is 'Five Weeks to Jamaica', a seafaring adventure novel that takes place aboard a 147' motor yacht bound from San Diego to Jamaica, and features plenty of excitement, drama, fun-filled escapades, and a bit of racy but not raunchy sexual interaction. Both books are on Amazon (E-book and printed versions).

Hello fellow authors and readers. My name is Theo van Lieshout and I am an avid reader and writer. I have just published my first book, a thriller, and am writing a few more. I'm not a full time writer, at my day job I work at a digital agency as consultant / information analyst. But every free moment I get I use to write more.I do read a lot too, to learn and to relax. I'd read anything but like science fiction the most.
I'd like to learn more from you all here and try to improve my writing so tips are welcome.
If you want to know more about me, look me up in the author section :-)

Hello everyone!
I am Tom Grant, a brand new author with a VERY UNIQUE literary style. I write realistic sensual short stories that are descriptive yet tasteful and each story is about the "Reader". That's what makes my writings unique, the Reader is actually the main character in each of my stories. I just published my first eBook on Amazon called, "The Little Pink Book". I believe once people start reading it, the word will spread like wildfire. However, I am quickly learning that writing is the easy part, but getting people to go check it out is the harder part. I hope exchanging dialogue with people on Goodreads will help. If it is well received, I will write more as this is truly what I would like to do for the rest of my life. Just need to get the ball rolling. If anyone would be kind enough to just take a free peak at my book, I would be extremely grateful. Thank you!

Hello! My name is Effie KammenouI am about to launch my first novel in a few days. It will be available on Amazon on kindle and in print. I wish all of you the best of luck with your books. I have found the writing community to be a very supportive group. Below is the synopsis to Evanthia's Gift:
In the year 1956, Anastacia Fotopoulos finds herself pregnant and betrayed, fleeing from a bad marriage. With the love and support of her dear friends Stavros and Soula Papadakis, Ana is able to face the challenges of single motherhood. Left with emotional wounds, she resists her growing affection for Alexandros Giannakos, an old acquaintance. But his persistence and unconditional love for Ana and her child is eventually rewarded and his love is returned. In a misguided, but well-intentioned effort to protect the ones they love, both Ana and Alex keep secrets - ones that could threaten the delicate balance of their family.
The story continues in the 1970’s as Dean and Demi Papadakis, and Sophia Giannakos attempt to negotiate between two cultures. Now Greek-American teenagers, Sophia and Dean,
who have shared a special connection since childhood, become lovers. Sophia is shattered when Dean rebels against the pressure his father places on him to uphold his Greek heritage and hides his feelings for her. When he pulls away from his family, culture and ultimately his love for her, Sophia is left with no choice but to find a life different from the one she’d hoped for.
EVANTHIA’S GIFT is a multigenerational love story spanning fifty years and crossing two continents, chronicling the lives that unify two families.

I'm a (non-fiction) published psychologist who just leaped into fiction with a mixed genre novel, The SHIVA Syndrome. It was published in April. The entire process of writing, finding a publisher and now promoting has been worse than getting my Ph.D.
In the world of fiction I've discovered a new-found respect and empathy for writers.
