W.C. Quick | 3 comments Hello, My name is WC Quick, retired welder/fabricator. These days I forge fantasy instead of metal, much harder work. I try to blend real world experiences with a blend of magical or alternate dimensional incursions from the worlds of The Orb.

I have a couple self published books and short stories on the block. I am currently thumping my short story collection; The Worlds Of The Orb by WC Quick on Amazon Kindle.

Richard Jensen | 2 comments Hi,

My name is Richard Jensen. I'm a writer, historic preservation consultant and occasional web developer from South Dakota.

After my agent spent about a year trying to sell a series of photo books to various publishers, and after I failed to find a decent on-demand printer that produced satisfactory output (the problem isn't the resolution, it's the paper quality), I decided to reimagine this series as an e-book only enterprise.

I've just uploaded the first two books to Amazon, and am looking for reviewers for them. I'm also trying to build a "platform" for non-fiction works that may be forthcoming.

Looking forward to feedback from the rest of the community!

Soad Nasr | 5 comments Hello,

I am the author of the book, The Daily Hazards of a Middle Eastern Wife, which got published on Amazon and Kindle. For the first time and with a comic twist, a Middle Eastern wife talks about some traditions women face in the Arab world when getting married. The book also discusses topics in regard to pregnacy, child-birth and raising children in the Middle. There is a huge cultural gap between the Middle Eastern world and the Western world. And there is nothing better than humor that can bring those two worlds closer together.

Emelie (ms_emzie) | 1 comments Hi I'm Emzie,

I've read all my life and just recently got this story in my head that I can't get rid of. The story is developing in my head every day and I realize I need to do something about it soon before my head explodes. :)

I haven't actually written down a single word of it yet, but a lot of notes (which I desperately need since the plot is quite complicated) and I'm really excited to get started with plotting out the storyline and develop all the characters.

I found this group whilst searching for good software programs for writers and I'm hoping joining you will encourage me to move on and find handy input to my work from all you experienced people :)

Nina (the fussy reader) (ninathefussyreader) I'm Nina and love reading books.
I like sharing and receiving book recommendations and reviewing books.

I'd love to make some friends on here and talk to some like-minded people who share my love of books.

I'm happy to read anything and am trying to work my way through the classics, but my favourite genres to read are Fantasy and Historical Fiction.

I buy more books than I have time to read, but don't we all? I love collecting really old books too, and get super exciting when rooting through a secondhand bookstore or charity shop and I come across an antique or first edition.

My 'to read' list is long and my 'to buy' list is even longer, but I'll get there sooner or later. :)

My first book "The other side of Alzheimer's, a caregiver's story was written to help families understand how being a caregiver will change their lives. My second book, "The Gospel Choir Murder" involves an Oakland choir. Both are sold in print and ebook format at Amazon,B&N, itunes as well as in book stores. I'm looking for an agent but until then I'm self-publishing.

Abhijit Deokar (wordingabhijit) | 3 comments Hi, I am Abhijit and have published a fiction novel with Penguin-Partridge Publishing house titled "Dream Walk - The Requisite Journey". The story is about the couple on a journey which reveals the good and bad side of every experience. People they meet during journey expose the uncontrolled things over controlled and vice versa. They need not to force themselves to a mere truth of realization that the troubles in life are never ending but the other view
to it can be illusion as a trouble and an unexposed
side of pleasure and enlightenment.

That is all about my book.

Victoria Zigler (toriz) | 2898 comments He was my dog. His name was Keroberous (Kero for short).

He was the inspiration for my "Kero's World" series of children's books. He's also the inspiration for Yua the Westie from my book "Yua And The Great Wizard Hunt" which is a fantasy story I was actually in the middle of writing when we lost him, so it has a dedication to him at the start of the book.

We lost him almost a year ago, but I haven't been able to bring myself to change my profile picture yet.

Jessie J. Burton (Jessie_J_Burton) | 1 comments Hello all, new to goodreads groups. I started reading fiction(mostly horror) in grade school then I pretty much stopped all reading and acquired a love for movies instead. Lately I have been an avid nonfiction reader but I am making a switch back to fiction. I enjoy mystery, horror, action/adventure, and scifi the most.

I am currently writing 2 fiction novellas. Ive written non-fiction plenty but I have a "essay writing" type of mind and people dont like to read those much. So I am trying the fiction route and see where that takes me.

Thank you for reading, see you in the threads.
