Introduce Yourself!
John F. FahertyA Paradox in RetrogradeHello FolksMy Name is John Faherty I'm an Artist and writer of science fiction. I am also an avid reader. Currently I work and live in Philadelphia PA. Though I have been writing for several years I'm just getting a feel for how this promotion thing works or in my case doesn't work. I am looking to this group to help me gain new insight into this part of the business. I am also interested in generating reviews for my own work while helping others to do the same. Any advice or comments would be greatly appreciated.
John
Hi everyone! I'm excited to join you. I'm a mother/lawyer/surfer in Santa Cruz, California and I just published my first novel! It's been a crazy thrill ride. The novel won an honorable mention at this year's Beach Book Festival so I'm hoping everyone will cozy up with it this summer. It's partly about Jesse from the suburbs of Virginia who hitchhikes across the country imagining he is the next Jack Kerouac. It's also about his girlfriend Maya who gave up a baby at 17 and is traveling with him to go find her long lost child. Will their relationship survive the realities of an uncomfortable road trip? Or the fact that Jesse is probably deeply in the closet? Finally, the story is also about Jean, who adopted a baby three years ago and is struggling with the work-life balance. So hard! Now she has to deal with a young, hip birth mother coming to steal her child's heart. I hope you all enjoy it!Nerve: A Novel
Hi! I'm Tiara and I love reading books. I read books everyday, be it boring or interesting. And I love playing around with photoshop haha. Glad I join this group :)

Hello, my name is Jonathan. I am an interviewer and exam invigilator. I volunteer for an equalities charity and in my spare time I enjoy hiking. I am a keen reader, mostly of Fantasy, Horror and Science Fiction, but also some literature. I'm aiming for a career as a writer and have recently finished my first novel, 'Heathen with Teeth'. It is an epic dystopian fantasy, and I will be self-publishing via Amazon.
Hi all of you,OMG! This group is huge. I'm sure this little message will be lost, but here goes: I'm an avid reader, active reviewer, and prolific author (not by my standards, but people say that). I'm willing to try to answer anyone's questions about reviewing and the writing business and my ebooks within reason (rhetorical questions like "can we go find one of those quickie motels?"--I've received them--and "you can't write so why don't you go pound sand?"--I've received those too--are considered spam).
Right now anyone can review one ebook from my catalog and receive two free, the one being reviewed plus another without any review commitment. This time-limited offer applies until it looks like I'd better hire a secreatary, which will never happen.
You can visit my GR page here or http://stevenmmoore.com to access more far-out intel (that's a hint about my genres).
Yours in reading, reviewing, and writing,
r/Steve Moore
Excited to be part of the group. I'm a long time ad write and I just released my first novel, Spare Me, an action comedy set in the world of bowling. My reading tends to vary between light mysteries and heavy nonfiction, while my writing is always in the humorous novel area.

Hello, my name is Kathey Norton. I'm a novelist, screenwriter, and poet. I have written four books (2 that are published). Their titles are "What Becomes a Legend Most" and "Double Life." I have been writing for the past 30 years, since I was in high school. When I'm not writing, I study voice and guitar with the hope of starting a local band. I love music and that's why my book, "What Becomes a Legend Most" is about a female rock and roll musician.
I'm also an animal rights activist and very passionate about making sure animals are treated humanely all over the world.
I'm not a full-time writer since I have to work a day job to support all of the creative things I like to do, and my love of traveling.
I have a website (katheynorton.com), Facebook page, Twitter, Pinterest, Google+, and LinkedIn account, too.
I wish everyone the best with their writing, and if I find good opportunities for writers to market their work, I will make sure to share that information. I used to be a marketing director, so I'm all about marketing and self-promotion for writers. We can't just write a book and not promote it, right?
Also, if you are caring for an elderly parent with Alzheimer's and need advice, I can help. I took care of my mom for 11 years while I was in my 20s, so I know what a difficult job it is being a caregiver and finding time to write. Just wanted to put that out there to anyone who is struggling with that. Thanks!
Hi everyone! I'm Alex. A while back, I use to work for my college newspaper as a news writer. These days I write about music on my music blog. Creatively speaking, I write mainly poetry and short prose.
I read very diversely. I love classic literature (American, British, and Russian), fantasy, and horror/gothic.
Thanks!

Hey there! Just adding my voice.. My pen name is JH Mae, but my real name is Shelley. I just published my first book, a short story collection, maybe two weeks ago by now I think. I don't stick to one genre, but everything I write is pretty dark. I hop between soft sci-fi, horror, and paranormal-slanted fantasy. Hoping to connect with some people here :)
Hi, all.
I hope you're well. I'm Casey, and I'm a poet and non-fiction author, primarily focusing on personal growth after bereavement.
I have contributed articles for bereavement websites such as The Grief Toolbox, and Massachusetts based charity Trauma to Art. The founder of Trauma to Art, Lauren Muscarella, recently included an article of mine in her book 'Alice's Law: Honoring Lost Loved Ones and Finding Deeper Meaning'.
I self-published my first book of poetry on 13th October 2014, Metastatic Breast Cancer Awareness Day, in honour of two friends who passed away within four years of one another. I found my voice through dealing with these losses.
Happily, I also have a novel in progress, which deals with themes of disability and sibling relationships.
You can find more information on my website: Casey Bottono
Take care,
Casey

Hello, I'm Sarina (, former teacher, now writer of Vintage Romances. I am looking to a critique partners who writes in the same genre. Interest? Let me know here. Hello. I'm Donna and I've been writing for as long as I can remember. I have several self help books, a few children books and a couple novels on Amazon. When I'm not writing, one will find a pair of knitting needles in my hands. A couple weeks ago, I had a small accident on my Yamaha moped, and broke my left knee. I'm recovering from surgery which involved a plate and several screws. Because I can't work at my full time job as the Manager of the shipping and wine club department at Talon Winery, I've begun the second nook in my series, Friends By Serendipity. Also lots of knitting for a new grandbaby expected late September.
Hello everyone,My name is Bryan K Williamson and I am about to release my first self published book through Create Space titled, Not Beyond Redemption. It's based on actual events in my life as well as a fictional account of the Baltimore, MD crime and drug underworld.
I also write lyrics and have several published songs on SoundCloud.com and Kompoz.com.
I mostly write about my life and my family. Also about the social and economic state of our country. I have several lyrics written about encounters I have had with the homeless community in Washington D.C. as well as many people who have had a profound impact on my life.
What a great group, and I'm glad to be a part of it. I'm C.E. Newsom, mystery writer with stories featuring a private detective from Chicago. I have some short stories "out there" (one is listed on Goodreads: "The Shapiro Affair") and I'm currently working on a novel featuring my private detective, Jeffrey Sparks. I had short stories published when I was in college, but then took a 20 year detour into the "real world" of business. Now, I'm back to writing.I was originally working on a different story, but because of events in the past year or so, I shelved that story to work on one I thought had to be told. I don't want to give too much away, but it's a murder mystery that shows how things can go terribly wrong because of ignorance and intolerance.
Again, happy to be a part of this group. If you'd like to read more, you can check out my blog
