Hi there, I am the author or a few books, mostly relating to prison law, criminal law, prisoners' rights, and prison education. I have a great publisher. I've been on Goodreads for a while now but haven't really been very active (until now!) I'm just looking to connect with other writers and readers on here and share discussion about writing, not just on my topics but if anyone wants to know more I'm happy to share!
Hello everyone, writers and readers. I'm Maho and I consider myself both a writer and a reader, although relatively new at the first one (at least publish-wise). I love fantasy, mystery, horror, adventure and spend most of my days reading or writing even at work (Just don't tell my boss).
Welcome to the group, Maho!I also enjoy fantasy, and many of my books are fantasy themed (though officially aimed at children of various ages).
Hello! I wanted to intro myself and also share that my upcoming book, Rising Tide (SIRENS, Book 1) has just been featured on Kindle Scout. I would LOVE to get your vote, fellow authors. It's a great platform to get published through public reader feedback. And you get a free copy if you vote and I win. Check it out here at https://kindlescout.amazon.com/p/3NI3...(Awesome cover by Paul W. Copello at www.designistrate.com)
Thanks!
Tanya

Thanks for the welcome! I see you have interesting titles there, I love children literature too.
Hi TL, I would have voted, but unfortunately it is only for US residents. Wishing you the best of luck!!
Hi, I'm Ash Night. I'm a fairly new self-published author and I write Paranormal Romance. My third novel, Embracing Shadows, will be out by June the latest. My other two novels are Juliet's Lullaby and AngelRose.
Hi, my name is Carol and I am the author of Forfeit. I have a bit of free time to devote to giving any author a review on Amazon. I like all kinds of genres, just not horror. So if you would like to send me a message request asking me for a review, I'd be delighted. PDF is fine. Many thanks

Victoria wrote: "Welcome to the group, Tonii!"Thanks for the welcome! I've been trying to catch my reading up to reviews for exchange. . . How do you determine how much time to write versus the time needed for social media interactions?
Hi - greetings from sunny Malaysia! Actually, I am a bit of maverick (I'm from England, day job is IT journalist in Asia) - but I have written screenplays, plays, and am working on crime thrillers based in this part of the world. However, my first book (traditional publisher) happens to be non-fiction - The Science of Happiness - a new international ebook edition has just been released by Marshall Cavendish. I must confess the exercises in that book were actually designed for creativity - for writers and other practitioners in the entertainment industry (the happiness was a side benefit! :).
Am sort of experimentally putting my toe into the social media side of things a bit with Goodreads and so forth. Best wishes all!

Due to a recent move, I have to admit I haven't been great with this recently. However, what I usually do is sort out a mental list of things I want to achieve in a day; listed in order of priority. Then I fit in as many of them as I can.
Pet care tasks and all chores that must get done each day are at the top of the list, along with any appointments or errands that must be done in a given day. After that I list things I want to fit in; writing time, reading time, and e-mails get priority over social media, but I do try and spend at least half an hour a day on each of the social media platforms I'm on (Goodreads, Blogger, Twitter, and Facebook) and if things have been busy so that I haven't been on social media much lately, then I'll make social media more of a priority for one day - like I did this past Monday.
Hope that helps?
