I.A. Dice | 4 comments Hi All,

I’m I. A. Dice and I’ve been writing for eight years now. I always lacked the courage to share it with the world but finally wrapped it up and recently self-published my first NA Contemporary Romance novel. I’m just beginning my journey as an author, but I’m hoping to make it last. I am currently writing my second book whilst trying to promote the first one.

Nanci McGraw (nancimcgraw) | 4 comments First time in THIS group on GoodReads:
[[[ I scurry over lush burgundy and gold carpet and down the wide hallway, stopping at the massive open doors of the five star hotel ballroom. Whoosh...what a decibel level buzz from what must be a thousand voices in animated discussion! Men and women in sartorial splendor are laughing, listening, and talking while sipping golden liquid from sparkling stemware. I smile and step spritely into the gargantuan grand room, thinking to myself in 18 point Arial font, "I love books and mysteries TOO!" ]]]
=========

I'm Nanci, a seasoned adult - "ha", wife, mother, and new grandmother, living close to San Diego, CA ! I'm an author of two (non-fiction books and many articles) and happy reader (of many fiction & non). I've been getting acclimated to the site, setting up my Goodreads profile, enjoying the features, and generally finding my way around. (I don't want to mess up here or transgress group protocol!) Wheeeeeeeeeeeee!

D.S. Wrights (dswrights) Hello Everyone,
I am D.S. Wrights D.S. Wrights and that's obviously an author's name. I am working with two, but keep them stricktly separated Why? because of the genre's I'm working in. As Dee (that's how you can call me) I am writing Horror, Fantasy, Sci-Fi with a darker touch, always combined with Erotica not centered around it - that's why I'm not sure if I'm right here, because you don't have that category.
I am German, but I speak English and Dutch fluently, 34, single, an analyst at day, and a writer at night. My dream is to be able to write full time.

Chris Oler | 8 comments Hi, all. I am Chris Oler and my books include a (so far) six-part early reader series that introduces kids to cultures around the world.

The Molly and the magic suitcase series has language, food, points of interest, and other cultural highlights, and all of it is contained within a story. We like readers to learn without realizing they're learning. School librarians report kids up to age nine enjoying the series.

The The Shield of Horatius: A Molly & Michael Mystery does much the same, but for an older, middle grade audience. Set in Rome, it features the same characters as the early reader series, but they're a bit older.

Molly and Michael return to Rome to visit an old friend and are caught up in a race to find the title artifact. I loved writing this (maybe not every minute, but most of them) and hope you have a moment to take a look. Thanks!

I've been an avid reader and sometimes writer for over 30 years since I was a kid. Most of what I wrote has collected dust but now the wonderful world of e-publishing has enabled me to share my work.

Please look for my novels under Tess McCallum in the romance genre, available from most ebook distributors. I hope you enjoy them.

message 9782: by Cathleen (new)

Cathleen Hi Vincent,
I am a junior high teacher and am hopelessly addicted to reading. I have written a few picture book manuscripts, but haven't worked too hard at shopping them around. I am currently trying to hone my drawing skills to produce a few illustrations--the ultimate goal, self publishing at least one of my stories.
I read constantly, and I am very willing to provide reviews.

Alice (goodreadscomalicerene) | 66 comments Hi Everbody! I am Alice Rene and have been a Goodreads author for a zillion years but not actively. Don't know why except I was too busy writing and promoting my memoir, "Becoming Alice." With lots of work promoting on my part it has done well. Right now I'm getting ready to publish "The Other Side of Him." Lots has changed in the years in between. I'm going to try to promote myself and my book through the internet, social media, etc. I welcome any help I can get.Becoming Alice: A Memoir

T.K. Naliaka Marie wrote: I have a background in Art History/Western Humanities"

Perhaps you could explain this to anyone about the usefulness of Western Humanities: Sitting in francophone West Africa, at a Brazilian open-air grill, we opened the menu (in French) and looked at the pizzas. There were two sizes available - not petit/small and grande/large but:
Pantagruel and Gargantua
The African waiter laughed and said the owner is a big fan of ...(can you guess?)

message 9792: by T.K. (new)

T.K. Naliaka Yes, the father/son giant characters of François Rabelais, 16th Century philosopher - on the pizza menu in Africa.

Yes, as relates to the pizzas - proper small and large - though if one is used to US sizes, smaller overall.

message 9793: by T.K. (last edited Feb 22, 2015 04:48AM) (new)

T.K. Naliaka Don't really recall any slightly dirty stuff - 16th Century and all, which would not really be something a restaurant owner would want to provoke in his customers that would interfere with their concentration on their choice of food.

message 9794: by T.K. (new)

T.K. Naliaka Of course! Ever notice how much 17th Century Molière is in Bugs Bunny cartoons?

Lynda Panther (whitemare) | 3 comments Hi there: you might have seen me around.... I'm Lynda Panther & I'm about to publish my third book in The Bloodwitch Chronicles series. I'm going indie right now & finding it hard to reach readers.
I started writing seriously when I retired (I was sacked, actually) and now I can't stop. I'm not limited to the supernatural genre, but none of my other work is near to publishing yet. The rest of this I'll stick on the best board - paranormal seems to be the one. See you. Check out my blog: I blog as Whitemare, and I have a Facebook page as myself and the Bloodwitch Chronicles. I tweet as well. See you around!

Hi, Just wanted to say a quick hello. I'm a new author from the UK. I've just published my first romantic novel over on Smashwords, it's currently free - I figured if people are going to be kind enough to give a new author a break and read my novel, the least I can do is make it free!
I'm a long-standing Goodreads member, but wanted to keep my reader and author accounts separate. I'm now fortunate enough to be working with a lovely woman from across the pond who is providing invaluable insight so that I can learn and evolve as a writer. If anyone had any ideas on promoting my book I'd be eternally grateful, to say the least.

Anyway, I've bore you enough of my incessant ramblings, so this is where I'll sign off.

Lots of love, fellow literature lovers!
x

Colleen Fleshman | 8 comments Hi everyone,

I'm an avid reader and a writer myself. I'm always interested in hearing what techniques other writers use to promote (like you, D.E., I find free books to work well), so please reply here or shoot me a message if you have techniques that you find work! I'm also happy to help out fellow writers, so if you need any feedback, let me know!
