Hi everyone, I am an author and a reader. However I tend to be more of a author than reader when I am writing, as I try to keep my work totally original, and not to be influenced by another story. I write under the Pen Name D. D. and the majority of my stories and poetry simply seem to flow out of me.

Hi Everyone, I'm Railyn Stone and I'm a newbie author. Still trying my best to get a handle on Goodreads since I joined in April. I just recently found this group so you can see I'm not that proficient with it yet. My debut novel, The Christmas Tree Guy, released in November. I'm so happy to meet you all and look forward to getting to know you.
Hi All,My name is Ashleigh. Thanks for adding me to the group! I'm addicted to reading YA, fantasy, inspirational, and other random genres. Then my imagination took hold and I became an addicted writer. Just published my 1st YA fantasy novel 4 days ago (Belvedor and the Four Corners). Such a good feeling! And glad to have found a community of avid readers/writers alike.
Nice to meet you!
Ash

Hi everyone my name is Sharon Gibbs. My first novel Bound to Survive I'm hoping to release in February 2015.I've only been writing for the last two years but was amazed at how I found my passion. After raising a family and working several jobs at 42 I'd finally found my niche. I love to read many different genres but my passion is to write fantasy. I can't wait to explore this group and get to know you all.
Hello everyone my name is Moses. Normally I don't like using social networks, as I am mostly a person who likes to keep to himself. I mostly read fantasy novels and will read from other genres once in a while. I use to write short stories and poems a lot when I was in school and more recently picked up the habit once again. I recently published my short story Before the Afterlife on Amazon. I plan on doing some more writing and will hopefully get better at it.
Hello,My reader's name (and real name) is Sabra but my author's name is Talyah. My first book was published a year ago but because of an unexpected illness and extended recovery I have not been able to market it until now. It's a powerfully emotional true story about dogs' love inspiring determination and hope to overcome family dysfunction and abuse. The title is "Barking Buoys". I've been trying to connect with other Goodreads pet lovers, authors and readers but so far haven't found any groups with enough activity to develop "friendships".
Welcome Gino, Moses, and Talyah! Tallulah, I am a pet lover. I have a dog and love reading dog stories.
Hey! Thank you for the greeting. I'm encouraged to finally connect with someone. What kind of dog do you have? I have four mixes: 2 Brittany boys and 2 puggle girls. What dog stories have you enjoyed?
Hi everyone! I'm Ashan, on the brink of being 30, living in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
I work full time, write on weekends and whenever I can. Till recently I used to be part of a choir and offer freelance writing services - but now I've stopped all that to focus on finishing my trilogy-in-progress.
Tristan's Conquest Book One, Knights of Olympus, is my debut novel and I was lucky enough to be published, right here in Sri Lanka. It's the first novel to mix a Sri Lankan context and protagonist with a contemporary, epic fantasy setting. :)
You can find out more about the book on facebook.com/TristansConquest, or drop me an email if you'd like to receive a copy of the book!
As Sri Lanka has a very small reader base for English fantasy, I'm always looking at ways to reach and talk to more people. Happy to meet you all!
Talyah wrote: "Hey! Thank you for the greeting. I'm encouraged to finally connect with someone. What kind of dog do you have? I have four mixes: 2 Brittany boys and 2 puggle girls. What dog stories have you enjoyed?"I have a Japanese Spitz. I like the dog stories from Chicken Soup for the Soul.

Welcome to the group, Railyn, Ashleigh, Sharon, Eugenio, Moses, Talyah, Ashan, Hugh, and anyone else I missed!Talyah and Lenita: I have a whole series of 7 books I've written and published, which are based on events in the life of my Westie, who we lost in August of this year. They're my "Kero's World" books, and are semi-fictionalized accounts of events in his life from his point of view.

I didn't realize you were an author, too. Where is Whidby Island?

Hello and Happy Holidays! My name is Michael L. Lewis, and I'm a new sci-fi author. The Orthogonal Galaxy, my first published novel, marks the beginning of the six-book Galaxy Series. After years of work (darned day job!), I'm excited to have my book out there, but I'm also eager for feedback, so I can improve my writing as the series progresses.
Hello, my name is Michael Coady. I just published my MG fantasy 'Eliza Twitchel & The Haunted Forest' on Amazon for kindle. I would love to hear how other authors promote their ebooks. I'm on Wattpad and have had great feedback but I need help when it comes to advertising.--Thanks--
Hello, my name is Joanne and I am a horsaholic. I cope with loss by creating something positive and my recently published book, "Horse Town" has helped me honor the memory of a dear friend lost to a automobile accident. She loved to laugh and if the book gives anyone a chuckle my mission is accomplished. horsetownpress.com

I don't, personally, but you can get tips on marketing
from the groups on LinkedIn. Also, you can get marketing tips by joining the Independent Book Publishers Association. LinkedIn in is free; IBPA is not; however, I found that joining IBPA was well worth my money.
Hello I am Victoria Ward and my new book the unconventional life of Jenna Jaghe is out now. It's a comedy about a woman. Look forward to chatting with other authors. X
Hello all. I'm David Millar. Born and bred in Belfast; moved to Nova Scotia, Canada, in the 1990s. After ten years shoveling snow, I decided to relocate to warmer climates, and settled in Houston, Texas. An avid reader, armchair sportsman, and Liverpool Football Club fan, I live with my family and Bailey - a Manx cat of questionable disposition known to my friends as "the small angry one." My first foray into writing is a historical fiction piece set in ancient Ireland Conall: Rinn-Iru The second in the series - Conall: Eitilt an Fhiaigh Dhuibh (The Raven’s Flight) is expected to be published in early 2015.
Hi Steve Fellick here. I wrote a science fiction novel a couple of years back called 'A Strange Encounter'. It's a UFO/Alien visitation novel a bit like 'Close Encounters of the Third Kind' but set in the UK in the early 90's. I have made it a free download from Amazon over Xmas 23rd to 27th December 2014. If you liked 'Close Encounters' it may be your cup of tea. Merry Xmas.http://www.amazon.com.au/Strange-Enco...
