Steven Guscott | 13 comments Hi everyone! I've just recently joined goodreads and as a reader and writer i'm looking forward to getting involved. When it comes to reading I love fantasy and sci-fi with interesting characters and a good balance of action, themes, discovery, conflict and bit of romance too is good. Any recomendations that might meet my prefrence please get in touch.

As for writing i'm published with www.kristell-ink.com and they have a good selection of unique sci-fi and fantasy books so feel free to take a look. I'm also having a goodreads giveaway of my book on the 1st of December so keep an eye open for that too if you think it's a story you might want to read.

I look forward to making some new friends and reading some quality stories.

Steven

Gideon Asche (gideonasche) | 29 comments I had to explain what goodreads is to a kid at the bowling ally, he works the desk and is just as sharp as they come. so I thought he might like goodreads, I know he is a reader.

I described it to him a few times and finally he says..

"I get it ..Goodreads is like facebook only everyone is required to be able to read, write and be civilized for extended periods of time.. "

I think that sums it up nicely...

My name is Justin Cloud. I'm a new author and new to this site. My book is about abuse as a child. Rebellion as a teen. Consequences as adult and the courage to change. My book is full of surprises. I use song lyrics at the beginning of each chapter to set the tone for that chapter. My book is a fast paced, action book that is painfully true. My goal for this book is to provide the reader with a exciting book to read with the power to inspire people across the country to want better for theirselves. I've received my first professional review and was very encouraged by it. I hope to use Goodreads.com as the platform to get my book rolling. I live in Fairbanks, Alaska. I have had 1 book signing at Barnes and Noble about 6 weeks ago and sold out. I have another book signing on December 14th and hope for the same success. Looking forward to hearing what the Goodreads.com community thinks of my book and how to best get my story heard. Thank you all for your time. Sincerely Justin Cloud

Heather (heather_sliceofhappy) | 1 comments Hi! My name is Heather.

I've been using Goodreads for years but I am new to using it as a platform for my recently published book: A Slice of Happy ~Because the Whole Pie is Overrated.

Here's a review: "This is not a book with a secret answer or a plan that will transform your life from misery to magical existence. A Slice of Happy reminds women that they are not alone, they won't be tired forever and there is hope. The book will inspire you to grab a coffee or a glass of wine and find, you own Slice of Happy." Tina Comi, Author of "Till Dance Do Us Part"

My book is targeted to woman between 35-45 careening into life's busiest decade. The books message will help women in their quest to find perspective, pick a slice and enjoy a bit more happiness along the way.A Slice of Happy ~ Because the Whole Pie is Overrated

Now - I'm going to try and figure out how to use the rest of this site to get the word out! Thanks everyone!!
Heather.

A.P. Jensen (authorapj) Hi, my name is AP Jensen. I have been self-pub for almost two years and am about to put out my 10th novel. I am an avid reader and currently live in Hawaii. I love to talk about writing- I write YA fantasy, paranormal romance and contemporary romance so drop me a line!!

message 9123: by Kurt (new)

Kurt Bartling (kurtb) | 21 comments Hi, my name is Kurt Bartling. I've been a member of goodreads for a couple years, I think. I may have even posted on this thread, but I haven't been on GR actively, for several months ... maybe a book rating or short review here or there. This group's grown a lot in that time. So, I hope no one's offended if I reintroduce myself. I started writing little over two, maybe three years ago, on an impulse. I just self-published my third novel last month through Lulu (dystopian, suspense, romance, action, espionage).

I read copiously, (paranormal, suspense, romance) and for the last couple months, really been focusing on self-published stuff. Writing is a gift, and there are a lot of gifted people out there. Give the less notable ones a try. I know self-published and indies take a lot of flak (editing, grammar, etc), but there are some real gems out there.

Marlita Hill (marlitahill) | 4 comments Good morning everyone. I am new to Goodreads and am learning how to use it. My name is Marlita Hill and I am an indie author, a choreographer, and educator. I have two books about dance in the Kingdom. My first book looks at how dance serves God, the individual, the congregation, and the body of Christ. My second looks at how our relationship with God informs how we create art, manage our careers, and contribute the Kingdom perspective to societal and cultural dialogue.

Though written to dancers, the books are packed with principles that can be applied to every child of God.

I look forward to interacting with all of you and thank you for welcoming me into this group.

Steve Francis | 5 comments Hi, friends. I appreciate being part of this group, and learning from and interacting with you. I've been a freelance/ghostwriter writer for years, as well as teach writing and critical thinking at Montana State University. My recently published ebook is Julius V ~ Warrior Pope: Vengeance in Vegas Julius V ~ Warrior Pope Vengeance in Vegas by Steve Francis , an action-adventure comedy available from Amazon. I initially wrote it as a feature length film screenplay. It was a award winner in the 2014 StoryPros Screenplay Contest, as well as a finalist in two other contests. I adapted it into a novel to give readers more humor than can fit into a two hour movie. My thanks to all of you good people who enjoy the thrill and knowledge gained from reading and writing.

Frank Linn | 3 comments Hello All,

My name is Frank Linn. I enjoy humor, either in narrative or essay form. I love to laugh, it's the most important thing a person can do. At the current moment, my two favorite authors/writers are Carl Hiaasen and David Sedaris. Can't get enough!

As far as writing, I have dabbled in short stories. I have written three - all humor, or at least what I consider humor. It's not for the faint of heart, or those without a heft appetite of weirdness. Hope someone enjoys it.

There is no greater joy than seeing someone enjoy something I've written.

The Mayonnaise Affair
