Lenita- ha! I'm sure your mother is a fine lady (not a serial killer at all). I, on the other hand, live in TX where the elderly are usually packing

Lance: you've got to watch those old grannies... My hubby once got attacked by one who was desperate for her sparkly vampire fix! They may look innocent, but it's all an act I tell you!

K.L. Cottrell (klcottrell) | 12 comments Hi!

I'm K. L. Cottrell! Among other things, I'm an author and avid reader. I'm new to the author scene and even newer to the Goodreads group scene, but I am here to wave my hands and smile the same way I would if I met you in real life!

I write new-adult romance. My current project is the Light Trilogy, the first book of which ("What Hides in the Darkness") has been up and running since March 2014. Book two will be here soon!

Even though this first book has neither run very far or very fast (I don't have a huge number of readers/reviews/sales) the experience has been really fun for me. Every individual reader I gain is a true blessing and I hope to continue entertaining people as the trilogy goes on.

It would be pretty awesome if you checked out my author page even though it's pretty naked. I'm still learning and working on it! I hope you'll check out my book, too. My reviews are on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Smashwords, and iBooks if those will interest you.

Whether or not you care about little old me, I hope you have a great day! Find something to smile about!

Greetings, Milady, and welcome to the madhouse! I share your experiences very closely with a book out, another coming, a few sales, a handful of fans, and like you, I'm having the time of my life. I know of writers in the exact same situation who consider themselves failures, but it's all in the attitude. I consider writing my "glorified hobby," and have found very little I've ever done to have been more rewarding. Just keep enjoying yourself, and if some day you hit the big time, that's just the cherry on top of the whole shebang.

I write steampunk adventures, and don't read romance, so this will probably be our only contact, but I just wanted to stop by and commend you for doing it right. As long as you don't measure your success in dollars, the fulfillment you get from the Craft will never stop flowing in.

Have a wonderful career, wherever it leads!

Jung-Sook Lee (goodreadscomcamilla_lee) | 2 comments Hello everyone,

Just a quick introduction about myself.
I am new to Goodreads and look forward to learning from all of you!

My book "Fire & Ice: My Wall Street Journey" was previously published in Asiawith traditional publishers and was a best seller.

For the US Edition, I chose to self publish primarily because I was not
happy how traditional publishers edited out portions of my faith journey.

Feedback from readers showed in fact, they were very curious how I became a Christian, which is answered in the very chapter that was eliminated by publishers!

Shows you how traditional publisher often don't know what readers want!

So my message is: don't be discouraged, those of you who have faced rejections of your manuscript.
There are many paths to success!

Camilla

I'm an author of short stories that just found this group. My writing tends to wander from genre to genre but seems to come home to science fiction and I am always looking for new readers and this looks like a good place.

OJ (orlijoeinfla) | 1 comments Hi there, I'm a reader, not an author.

My day job is manager of a multi-purpose performance/event venue in sunny South Florida, and my guilty pleasure is M/M romance, science fiction, and paranormal novels.

I've decided to give in to my inner child and just enjoy myself ;-)

Devi (views_she_writes) Hi Everyone, I am a voracious reader and read like there is no tomorrow. I don't exactly write novels but try my hand at short blogs. Recently I found out that writing reviews increases the satisfaction of reading a book and that made me write reviews as intently as I read. I stick to genre of books which are comfortable like mystery, thriller, crime, humor. Unfortunately, I stay away from horror, erotica, para normal, contemporary romance.

Chris Bieniek | 14 comments My name is Chris and I just published my first e-book, Ketty's Subdivision, a science fiction novel. I have found writing hard, getting published is harder. From the very first word you know a journey is laid out from which you will be unable to turn. This is how it begins, with every sentence, thought, scene or emotion. Its not so much the words as what lies behind them, and the need to fulfill your own dreams with a tale of epic proportions.
I am also a Goodreads author, feel free to send a friend request, check out my author profile, or ask a question.

The loss of ones identity may be the greatest terror of all.

TyCobbsTeeth TyCobbsTeeth | 16 comments Morn'n all. I'm TyCobbsTeeth. I'm an avid reader. Recently, I self-published a short story to Smashwords and Amazon. I took a break from my novel to write that short story - approaching the same plot from another angle. Now it's back to the novel. So, the short story, 'Breakfast is Severed' is a primer ...or appetizer to the novel, 'Society for Supper'. I'm about three quarters through the book it, but then comes the editing.
I'm having tons of fun writing it.

Angelique McGlotten (angeliquelivingbackwardcom) | 1 comments Hi Goodreads Authors?Readers Group,

I just wanted to give a quick introduction of myself. I'm new to Goodreads and look forward to learning and growing with you all.

Reading is one of my favorite things to do. I also love to write. I passionately desire my vapor of life to count for all eternity. Currently I'm in the process of getting a non-fiction book published to inspire others to build lives of true significance. If you'd like, you may check out my blogs and more details of the book at www.matterforgod.com.

Thanks and I look forward to engaging with you all.

Cheers,
Angelique

Ray Vento | 9 comments Hello to the group. I'm Ray M. Vento and a newbie childen's book writer. I decided a few years ago, to create a character Sam Caruso (modeled after me) to tell stories about growing up in mid-twentieth century Los Angeles. It's been a fun journey using life-experiences of my Italian-American family to build stories for my character. As a new member of Goodreads, I'm finding so much information. Like other new authors, I'm owerwhelmed with promoting/marketing. I do have one of my books out on Goodread's giveaway program and soon will add my second book. Any other promotional suggestions would be very much appreciated. Thanks!
