No Problem. :)
Hi, my name is Tracy Shawn. I live and write on the Central Coast of California. My award-winning debut novel, "The Grace of Crows," is about what happens after an anxiety-ridden woman connects with a homeless man living under a pier in Malibu. Please feel free to visit me at: www.tracyshawn.com. I love connecting with other readers and writers.
Hello, my name is Geoff Livingston. I am both an author and a reader, and I love the idea of this group. Looking forward to connecting and sharing thoughts with fellow book lovers!

Thank you for the warm welcome :)
Hi Tracy,I'm new to all of this and find it all a little overwhelming since I am a new author. You seem very comfortable.

Hi Beau! It's nice to meet you :)
Hi, my name is Kathey Norton. I'm a novelist, screenwriter, and poet based in Northern California, and just published a rock and roll novel called "What Becomes a Legend Most," about a female rock musician trying to overcome her past as a sexually abused child, bad relationships, drugs and alcohol abuse, and sexism as she climbs the charts and tries to compete in the male dominated world of rock and punk in the 70s and 80s. When I'm not writing or working at my day job, I study music, and I'm very interested in animal rights issues, mixed media collage art, graphic and noir comics, and social media. I'm glad to join this group. Thanks!
Sure, I'm new all over. New to this group and new to Goodreads. I've got an indie book coming out next month, and I'm at once overwhelmed and dazzled by the process. I'm plenty tickled to dive in...
Welcome to the nuthouse, Mr Ben. Enjoy your stay!

Hi Myra, thank you for saying that; I'm actually quite technologically challenged! Anyway, welcome to the wonderful, crazy, frustrating--and rewarding world of writing :)

I love reading books, romance all genres. I have loved the escape of a good book, and I can see that it takes a lot of talent from authors to draw you in and keep you there till the last page.
I have Crohn's disease for 20 yrs. now and books has been the best out look for me. The best meds. is to get lost in a book and just enjoy. That's what I'm doing. For how ever long I am here. I don't dwell, I have 3 kids, all but 1 is adult he is 16 yrs. and they know there is nothing left to do but, eat , meds, enjoy my time. I do what I enjoy, other than my kids, I read.

I'm new too. Don't be nervous :)
Hello Everyone,Firstly, I would like to thank the group admin for creating this platform for the authors.
I am new to Goodreads (in fact everywhere in the book industry) and came across this group while finding places to promote my new book. I am an indie author, shy and little introvert. I have interest in non-fiction mysterious stuff and that is what I also like to write about, for e.g.: Living life and the situations we go through that most of us try to figure out whole of our life. My book belongs to the self-help inspirational and motivational genre.
I am completely new so any help, little or big, would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks.

Greetings, Jennifer, and welcome. This feeling is like no other, yes? Cherish it forever; there's nothing quite like seeing your first book available on amazon or B&N! Hope you find much success with it.

Personally, I don't even try to do that here. Most of the groups have prohibitions against excessive excerpts and certain types of self-promo. Perhaps you'll get better answers from those more knowledgeable than myself, but I use http://writing.com for that. Various levels of membership from basic (free) to professional, each offering more services, but critiquing each others' work is the reason for the site's existence. The membership, as here, is world wide, and as I use an international cast, the suggestions I've received on slang and dialects from native-speakers of the various languages has been priceless, and would have been very difficult to obtain elsewhere. Best of luck!
