I'll see if I can read your book. Where can I find a copy?
Hi everyone, my name is Zach, and not only is the first time I've ever tried to do something for my writing career other than obsess over it, but this is the first time I have ever posted a comment in a forum. In any kind of forum. Please pardon my lack of cyber manners (do people still say cyber these days?), and please feel free to offer any constructive criticism. I'm stoked to be here!
ps. I wrote a story. It's called "A New Kind of Pet" and you can find it...umm, I hope at the bottom of this post? If not it's an ebook on amazon and it's free through Saturday. God I hope this works.

Welcome Zach. You'll have fun here. I checked out your book. Sounds post-apocalyptic. Quite an idea you have there.
Hey, Zach, welcome to the circus. Relax and dig in; you're going to be fine here.
Hello everyone! I am brand new to Goodreads and I am not quite sure that I know what I am doing just yet. I just debuted my first novel, Tatiana's Chance.Men are drawn to her as much as she is to them!
Who says the best years of life are from 20-40? Not Tatiana Kimball, a 40+, hella sexy cougar!! Tired of her humdrum life lacking direction and purpose, Tati soon finds that she wants something more and she wants to be something more. She finds herself at a crossroads and must decide in which direction her life will go.
This diamond in the rough shakes off her “soccer-mom”, “sensible-shoes” and “granny-panties” image in exchange for...something better. She embraces her sensually curvaceous body and her smoldering libido and adopts her new motto, “what panties?”

Thanks for this thread and hello everyone!I'm an author, my novel White Feathers is due out with Brandon Press on 25th August. It's a story of passion, betrayal and war, set from the period 1913-1917. The central premise is that a girl's family are trying to push her into giving a white feather of cowardice to the man she loves.
Thanks for this opportunity and nice to meet you all! My site is susanlanigan.com

Hello. My name is Stephen O’Rourke. I am the author of a short story collection, entitled: Pieces & Stems. The 15 stories were inspired by some of my favorite authors (e.g. Borges, Bulgakov, Calvino and Kafka) and the radio plays of Arch Oboler, who once was to radio what Rod Serling was to television. I self-published the book, and received an award for it. I have several other works that I’ve written (novels), but am holding back on self-publishing them, until I am more excelled at marketing. Thank you for reading me (this introduction, I mean).
Hi everyone. I wanted to introduce myself and figured this was a great place. I am an avid reader and I also have written one novel. You can find it at amazon here: InevitableMy book is a little bit of sci-fi, a little bit what i'm calling "constitutional thriller," and a bit of philosophy. If you have any questions just friend me. I'm always looking for reviewers.
Those are generally the topics I enjoy to read as well. I like a good bit of dystopian, but I am currently an attorney and a former philosophy major. So, you see where I came from.

Hi Everyone,I'm an avid reader and writer. I joined up with you all to find things to read and, of course, promote my book, The Social Event.
Starting at 12 noon Eastern (EDT) on Friday, July 25, 2014, The Social Event Kindle ebook will be .99 cents. It will remain at this great price until 4 pm Monday, July 28.
Say you were, or are, on the fence about the book. Well, at .99 cents it's hardly a huge financial risk. It is, in fact, a great deal for a book that, in paperback form, weighs in a 350 pages and is also a good read (pun intended).
Click here and check out what others have said about The Social Event.
Regards!
Hi, I’m Khristina. I’ve been writing for years and just joined the ranks of independent publishers at the end of May (this year) with my young adult novel, Straight A's. Navigating this new world of self-promotion is tough. I’m glad to find this discussion group, which looks like a nice community of writers who might be on the same journey. I look forward to hearing the wisdom and lessons you have to share.
Greetings. WI-based science fiction and fantasy writer here, with 2 books available on Amazon and a third in the works (Both may be found on my list "books-I've-written").

Welcome, Veena. Looks like a great thing you are doing over at your site; keep it up, and the indies may build a shrine to you one day!

Jack wrote: "Hi, Mary, and welcome to the group. I see your post on here twice, once in italics 50 minutes ago, and the other in normal print 47 minutes ago."Thanks. It's taking me some time to learn how to operate this site! Has anyone had any experience with giveaways?
Starting July 31st to August 31st,I'm giving away ten autographed copies of The Drawing Lesson and The Fate of Pryde the first and second in The Trilogy of Remembrance to celebrate the publication of the third in the trilogy Night Crossing for which there will be a giveaway in September.
Please enter because you might just win. For any cautious souls, you can sample the first fifty pages of all my novels on my page.
I have done a giveaway. I set it up to award about six weeks after publication, and about 350 folks added it to their to-reads, which unfortunately doesn't mean much. But it is free publicity, beyond the cost of the books. Not much happens at first (at least in my experience), but the closer the date gets, the more people sign up. Just be sure you aren't in the hospital on the giveaway date! There are people here who will give you a 1-star review if you don't deliver quick enough to suit them...
message 1: by Tom (last edited Jul 26, 2014 02:59AM) Jul 26, 2014 02:56AMHi everyone -- I'm Tom Hoffman, author of The Eleventh Ring, the first book in the Bartholomew the Adventurer series. I've been fan of fantasy and a creative my whole life, working with ad agencies and freelancing for 35 years. And I love Goodreads. Such an awesome site! I'm looking for readers to review The Eleventh Ring. The one thing I've heard over and over from readers is "this is not your normal fantasy adventure book", and I would have to agree. This is not swords and dragons. There is a great deal of symbolism and depth hiding between the words. Please read my bio before you start reading this book, and also the reviews. Oh, I also have a degree in psychology from Georgetown University. Here's the blurb:
The Eleventh Ring is a new full-length surreal metaphysical fantasy adventure novel chronicling the very strange world of Bartholomew Rabbit and his transformation from a sedate and naive country rabbit to Bartholomew the Adventurer, the most powerful shaper on the planet Earth. Set in the far distant future long after humans have vanished, this is a new world where rabbits and rodents have evolved to become the highest form of intelligence. If you like heroes, intrigue, talking trees with a thousand eyes, evil kings with villainous schemes, weird science, metaphysics, 10 foot tall robotic rabbits, infernal machines, dismal swamps, mystical islands, and the ever popular True Love – then this is the book for you.
Sooooo... if this sounds like a fun book to you... let me know and I'll give you a .mobi Kindle file of the book.(please include a good email address where I can send the file) I can't even tell you how much fun I had writing it. I'm having even more fun writing book 2 in the series, titled The Seventh Key.
Tom
PS I don't want to boast or anything, but The Eleventh Ring won first place on Listopia for "Best Books with a Green Rabbit on the Cover". Very impressive indeed!

Hi Michelle, I just happened to notice your intro near mine and thought you might like my book. I have a degree in psychology from Georgetown University (1972) and love animals and metaphysics. And don't even get me started on the miracle of the human mind! Here's the blurb:

If you'd like to read to review I'd be happy to send you a .mobi file. It's a fun story with a lot of symbolism and spiritual depth hidden between the words.
