Hello group, I'm a new author who just published my 1st book (Cat City: Tuffy's Story Vol. 1, available at Amazon, B&N, Authorhouse.com...) I love apocalyptic stories and that's what my book is about. It has a twist being that humanity is no longer the "top dog." And it's a bit comedic.
I joined this group to get some insight and to network. Looking forward to meeting some cool people who share my interest.

Hi friends!I'm Mike and joining this site was part of a requirement for one of my graduate school classes.
I'm 25 with a Master's and Bachelor's in History & I'm getting another graduate degree in Education.
I love reading and try to read every day after I get home from work and the gym. I have to review books for school on here, but I'm liking the layout a lot and hopefully I'll be able to review all my favorites sometime soon!
I'm new to the entire site and have almost no friends, so please feel free to add me! Also, I have a twitter (@MJABooks) and I always follow back. :)

Fair enough, Mike, consider yourself Friended. I've always had the armchair quarterback's interest in history. It will be fun to know someone who actually knows something about it!

Welcome to the group, Mike. I think you'll like it here. Your credentials are impressive.
Pay no attention to that guy sporting the white hat and beard. He is more of a qualified historian than he admits. Probably because, like me, he has been around long enough to have lived a lot of it.
Hello, My name is Daniel Parker and I am working on my fourth book. My first three are available here: http://amzn.to/13J370c I have a number of screenplays and story ideas already built up, it's just getting them into book format now. One of my books is on leadership and is based on my years in public service. Has received good feedback and I think it is excellent for a new graduate. Downfall is post-apocalyptic and is set in a southern town. Liberte is historical fiction. My main character is a French warrior though the accounts of the War of 1812 are all historical. Forthcoming is a story set in a futuristic prison. Thanks for reading and leaving feedback!Leadership for the Quiet Revolutionary: Leadership Lessons for the Next Generation of Leaders

Hello, all!My name is Natalie, and I am an avid writer and reader. About five years ago I woke up one morning knowing that what I needed to do was write books, and that nothing else would make me happier. Since then, I have published four books, which you can see on my profile and also buy through amazon. They are all YA Fiction novels, which is the genre that has stolen my heart. If you would like to check them out, read, rate, or review, I would be so grateful.
I can't wait to start reading and reviewing with you all!
Hello I`m Mary. I have always loved reading, and a few years ago was informed I have a talent for writing as well. I`m currently writing a book and cannot wait till the day I am able to take a trip to the local library and find a book with my name on it sitting on the shelf. I joined this group so I can meet other writers like me and get advice, and support and be with people who understand and appreciate the joy of seeing a story unfold before you and know that you have created something, and that that something is something wonderful.

Hi everyone! My name is Kait Neese and I stumbled upon this group through a click here, then there and a few more here, until voilà posting this message.
Got to love the endless cycle of trying to find the end of the Internet.
That being said I am looking for authors, publishers and service providers to interview and poll for use in an upcoming presentation I am giving to Chinese publishers in Beijing, China.
The hour lecture I am giving is in late August and is also during the Beijing International Book Fair. Which gives this a nice pop for attendance.
Hopefully, smile.
I will be speaking at the fair on the topic of "The Future of Digital Publishing & Distribution in a Mobile World".
China is about 5 years behind the US market in regards to anything related to "new-era" publishing. Mainly anything related to POD, indie, self-publishing and ebooks.
My hope is to help spread the benefits of digital publishing and the new-era model for which authors find success in the US markets.
If you are interested in taking a quick survey + questionnaire on the above please let me know! I would love any input to help with the data research collection process for my presentation.

Victoria wrote: "Ireth: I love fantasy too, and quite like elves. I like fairies and pixies more though"Don't forget Ireth and Victoria, you have 11 more days to read my fantasy Guardian of the Gauntlet for free on Story Cartel. It's a very short book, so you will have no trouble reading it in that time (should you choose to do so).
I like made up fantasies more than elves, fairies, and pixies. I like to use my imagination with my fantasy creatures. Right now, I just started a boxed set entitled, Faerie Realms. I'm not sure I like it as well as other fantasies I've read (the ones with the made up creatures), but then I've only just begun the book.
