Right now I'm going to college to become a teacher so the summer has been great for reading (when my daughter let's me). I love scifi, fantasy, and romance, but I would read just about anything.

Stephen (readytoescape) | 12 comments I’m new to the group but as it appears not to Goodreads; apparently I’ve been enrolled in the Author program for a while. It is however the first time I have explored the site and discovered people actually visit here. You would think someone on my staff might have made me aware you good people were alive. (That’s what you get when you hire elves that make shoes at night as agents and publicists.)

Since I am now only a staff of one, (ungrateful little buggers, drank all my scotch and never fixed the dog chewed shoes) I thought it might be good manners to say hello.

I invite you to visit my Goodreads’ profile by clicking the avatar to the left and discover my books. As penance for my ignoring you wonderful readers, if you see something you might enjoy reading, message me through Goodreads with your email address and I will send you a free digital copy of the book of your choosing.

Please note that since I no longer have a staff this introductory offer will end this evening, when I get bleary eyed or the new bottle of scotch is gone.

Lenita Sheridan | 1010 comments Welcome Tomasz, Stephen and Ashley. Ashley, if you like fantasy you might like reading my book Guardian of the Gauntlet which is free now on Story Cartel for 21 days. You just need to give an honest review in return. See my previous post for the actual link.
Also, Stephen, I, like you, have been on Goodreads for quite some time before I became a member of a group. It took having some extra time in the summer, as I'm a teacher, to join a group. Now I'm glad I did. It's so much fun.

Neo Jade (neojade) | 2 comments My name is Neo Jade, I write profusely. I also read religiously. I've read too many books to count, though I'm doing my best to add them all on Goodreads, as I remember them.
My last residence had literal wall to wall, floor to ceiling, books. Now they're all in boxes in the garage waiting for their inevitable release.

I am new to Goodreads, but it looks like a great community to be a part of. Already I've found some books that I didn't know existed from authors I enjoy reading, that I can't wait to get into.

I live in LA, CA.
I write mostly Sci-Fi/Fantasy. Though I'm soon going to be working on a children's novel in the vein of Alice in Wonderland.

My first published novel, DNA: The Awakened.

Lenita Sheridan | 1010 comments Welcome Neo. I write fantasy as well. My fantasy is closest to C.S. Lewis, and is written with middle school students in mind. It is entitled, Guardian of the Gauntlet.

My Novel: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00LPLHQ3W
My Name Is Thank-You
Every so often we come across a story that not only captures our attention, but beckons us to fall deeply in love with the characters whose lives are now being intertwined with ours through the enchanting power of words. This is such a story. My Name Is Thank-You follows the lives of two young girls, Thank-You and Josephine. We follow how their lives change over the course of four seasons. Their voices creating around us, a world filled with love, gratitude, bravery, self discovery, and forgiveness as well as shining a light on loneliness, fear, ignorance, and hatred.

Thank-You is an uneducated, bi-racial orphan who views the world beyond what her young eyes can see. She is filled with hope, love, understanding, and an overwhelming desire to find a place where she belongs. She travels through this story with the voice of an angel, imparting her wisdom, sending ripples through the core of the human spirit. With the help of her social worker, Miss Felix, Thank-You goes on a journey and what she discovers is more than she would ever imagine.

Josephine Dieu is a young, wealthy socialite, who comes from a prominent African American family. Her voice is heavy with sadness, carrying the burden of a disinterested father and an alcoholic mother. Her life is lonely, having no friends or siblings. Yet, underneath all of her sadness peaks the innocence of childhood, which yearns for a loving home. As the story unfolds, we follow as Josephine’s life unravels as we witness her encounter ignorance, hatred, shame, and abuse. Josephine’s story saddens us with its overwhelming truth and empowers us with hope as she overcomes every obstacle to get her voice heard.

Deeply meaningful, rich, and quirky, the stories of Thank-You and Josephine unfold in such a way that will leave you breathless and yearning for more words. It will also leave you with not just another novel in your collection, but another beautiful story engraved into the memory of your heart.

Bob Summer Hello

I'm a reader who writes.

I HAD to join this group when I saw the pic! I have a sax standing on my writing table. I so wish I could play it :-/. Well, I make a noise, but it hurts the pets' ears. Last time I tried the cat ran away all night.

Anyway, a rock and soul loving reader and writer, that's me. Hi.

K.P. Merriweather (kp_merriweather) | 276 comments Don't mind me. I've been on goodreads for a few years, just now popping in and discovering stuff. I'm a poor writer hammering out books and occasionally program games for windows. Not much else to say.

message 7833: by [deleted user] (new)

Well, by all means, consider yourself invited! I'm a steampunk author, which is pretty much a "guy" endeavor, but I write more about people than machines, and a lot of ladies who've tried it have liked it. Anyway, whether we get into each other's work or not, I hope you have a great time here. Now I'm off to swing by your page and see what you've got. Have a great week!

Forrest (fojazz) Hello, all! I've been using Goodreads as a list manager for a few years but I'm just now beginning to explore the community aspects. Looks great so far!

I write New Pulp and science fiction with a sense of humor. My first novel is Dragon in the Snow ; currently working on the sequel and writing some shorter fiction as well.

Off to explore the threads...
