Andrew Chapin (andrew_chapin) | 12 comments Hey, guys!

I just wanted to let you know that I've recently launched my author website and blog at AFCHAPIN.COM. Definitely check it out when you get a chance.

Also, if you've had the chance to read FROM TRAGEDY TO TRIUMPH - The Story of John Tartaglio, please let me know what you think on Goodreads and Amazon. If you haven't, pick it up and get back to me. It's an easy, inspirational read about the young man who lost his legs to a rare bacterial infection and went on to triumph over not only the New York City Marathon but his disability as well.

Thanks,
Andrew Chapin

message 7417: by Natasja (new)

Natasja Storm (natasjastorm) | 1 comments Hi everyone,

My name is Natasja Storm and I am from the Netherlands. Here I have founded and created the website young-adults.nl and it has become one of the biggest websites for Young Adult (and New Adult) books in The Netherlands and Belgium.

At this moment I am setting up the first publish house that will only publish young adult and new adult books from Dutch writers, because at this moment, most of the New York Times bestsellers are translated in Dutch and therefore the Dutch writers have hardly any change of being published. Of course the English bestsellers are great, I don't deny that (my favorite is The Hunger Games), however I find this also a shame because there is a lot of Dutch talent, and now big publish houses only choose for translating bestsellers and don't give writers a chance.

So I got a request to all you who reads this (I hope you don't mind requesting this, Vincent), could you please vote for me in a contest I am participating? It is just one click and nothing more. But I can win a starting seed for my publish house.
I will be publishing young adult and new adult books in Dutch, BUT they will also be translated in English, so I won't sell the translate rights, but will go international at the same time.

It will be highly appreciated!

you can vote here

On the right side in the orange rectangle press "STEM" that is all. "Stem" means Vote :)

Kind regards, Natasja

Marion Jaide (marionjaide) | 2 comments Hi everyone.
In my opinion, books are one of the best ways to grow personally. So I love reading non-fiction, self help and how to books. After reading heaps of these books I quit my job years ago and started life coaching and energy healing (new age!).

I've recently started writing my own books and am glad to have found goodreads :)

Please check out my first eBook "Chakra Healing with Meditation" exclusive to Amazon. I'm new to writing and would love to hear your feedback and continue writing.

Giving out free review copies as well, please PM me if you're interested in reviewing my book!

Shannon Brown (ShannonKBrown) | 2 comments Hi, Allen! I understand the frustrations of trying to land an agent, for I had tried myself for over twenty years! You are right, it seems you have to either know someone or be a celebrity in order to acquire one! I ended up self publishing, and let me tell ya, there is nothing more gratifying than being able to create my own success story without the middle men! I highly suggest you self- publish. Doing so does not mean you have to give up on trying to do it the traditional way, if that is what your heart is set on. And if you do good sales-whys, you may not want an agent and publisher dipping their fingers in your pockets! Good luck, Allen, I wish you happy publishing!

Fariborz Ghadar | 2 comments Hi,

My name is Fariborz Ghadar, but I frequently go by FG. I recently published my book on immigration called "Becoming American: Why Immigration is Good for Our Nation's Future," which represents the culmination of over two years of in-depth research and interviews. As an immigrant myself, the topic is extremely close to my heart. With the book's publication, I hope to dispel a number of misconceptions about immigration and to put faces on the statistics in order to avoid falling back into knee-jerk positions based on ignorance, fear, and racism.

I'm excited to be a part of this group & look forward to learning more from other authors and readers.

-FG
