Nathan Walpow (walpow) Hello, Everyone -

Nathan Walpow here. You might remember me from various mystery and other writing conventions. My Joe Portugal series went on hiatus in 2005, and I took a few years off from writing fiction. Now I'm back, with an e-novella entitled Logan's Young Guns. I have a giveaway going on (through next Tuesday) for three copies of Joe P. #3, One Last Hit, and if you go to my website and sign up for my newsletter, you'll get a free short story entitled "Daughters."

Publishing is a whole different world now, and I'm excited about sticking my toes back in.

My best to all,
Nathan

There's a two-year-old next door who's named Nathan. It leads to much confusion when we're both outside.

Vicki Rice (vlrice1) | 1 comments Hi, my name is Vicki. I am a 49 year old mother of 4. I find myself quickly approaching empty nest status with only my 14 year old son still at home. I have been a member of goodreads for awhile now but have not taken advantage of all of the great groups that are available. Reading is a passion of mine. My family and a few friends have an informal book discussion group, but I look forward to having a larger group to be involved with. I look forward to starting my next read with this group.

Beau Johnston (beau_johnston) Hi Vicki. You've definitely come to the right place to find you're next read. I've been fortunate enough to rediscover several long-forgotten treasures.

Judy Gill (judyinthejungle) | 94 comments Hello, fellow readers and writers. My name is Judy Gill. I've been reading for maybe twenty minutes longer than I've been writing and have many decades behind me of doing both. I've just published the first novel, Refuge, in a SF series entitled the Chronicles of Storn. Refuge is my 56th published novel and I'm working hard on The Dirtsiders, next in the series. My career started out with sweet romance, moved on to steamier romance, then segued into futuristic, fantasy, and paranormal romance. (No Vampires, Werewolves or Zombies!) I've taught novel-writing, been an editor for two print houses, and one electronic publishing house, as well as doing freelance editing. I'm usually able to read and review manuscripts for other writers, time permitting, and in every genre except Vampires and Zombies.

I spend half of each year in The Little House in the Jungle, a tiny home on the Caribbean side of Costa Rica, and the other half aboard a small cabin cruiser on the south coast of British Columbia. Wherever I am, I'm an avid reader and a dedicated writer. I've found many friends (and made new ones) on Goodreads. I love to hear from people in far-flung parts of the world and learn of the challenges they might find in both reading and writing in those places. My blog, judyinthejungle.wordpress.com often speaks to some of my own challenges.

message 7285: by Author William (new)

Author William Fripp (william_fripp) | 20 comments Ad Infinitum is my first novel and explores the question of the origin of life on this and other planets, in other universes and all universes at once. In this multiverse runs one common thread - humanity. On countless worlds across countless plains of possibility, there exists some form of humanity, of people, and they all share the same creators, a race of beings older than time and of unknown origin called the Sojourners. These omni terrestrial pioneers literally seed the universe with life, and as they go they leave behind a number of their own to guide the process of evolving, and, through reincarnation leap frog through time and pass along the history of each generation to the next line of Sojourner elementals.

Yet there was one Sojourner who looked at what it had created and saw nothing but inferior bastard offspring, not to be nurtured, but to be ruled. It broke off from the Sojourner religion and rebelled against it. It became known only as the Other. And across the multiverse of time and space, there was war between the Other and the Sojourners. And now the war has come to Earth.

Three people – a Bengali mystic, the son of an African shaman, and a prodigy turned schizophrenic who sees things people shouldn't see – become caught up in the crimes of a man who started life as a gifted, loved and loving child, but through tragedy was usurped by the essence of an evil, ancient and unforgiving, and sets forth on a mission of destruction. It is up to the Sojourner faithful, few in number, to find among them the power to overcome the Other and by doing so, forever change the lives of those either fortunate or unfortunate enough to be close to them.

Ken, authors who start writing late in life usually pack a whole lifetime of experiences, good and bad, to their toolbox. I plan to check out your work.

Gwendolyn Plano | 3 comments Hello Goodreads colleagues....
My first book will be published June 3rd, though it is available for Giveaway now. Writing Letting Go into Perfect Love: Discovering the Extraordinary After Abuse was an unexpected adventure. Years in the making, it tackles some of life's challenges, while celebrating its wonderful possibilities. My website www.gwenplano.com focuses on this journey.

I look forward to joining in the literary conversation Goodreads encourages.

Gwen

I actually started writing when I was a teen, then 'grew up' for 40 years and am finally back home writing [which is only fair, as I am still a teenager in my brain].
