Dana Burkey (danaburkey) Hello everyone!!

My name is Dana and I live in Washingt State and really love YA fiction! I also have a passion for live theater, movies, and working with kids! I have a degree in theater, with a minor in creative writing, so I have some writing project going on the side that I work on when I am not working full time at a Christian Camp.

On Goodreads I spend most of my time in the group: The Book Was Better. We chat about books that were made into movies, and I would really love to have some chances for members to chat with authors, or even get exposed to new books that have real theatrical quality! The readers in my group read a lot of YA fiction and also some action as well. Feel free to message me, or check out my group: https://www.goodreads.com/group/show/...

Hi Dana, I just finished a Book 6- it's a mini update to keep my readers happy, and get a new Sci-Fi villain that I started in a new 13 Book Series, out of a jam!

That being said, 2 of my reviews said it would make a good movie, does that interest your group? The Josef and Blair Series is entering Book 7, and I would love to be available to your group! It is an Interracial Romance, with a Special Ops meets Neo-Nazi twist, with Christianity woven all the way through it. It's about how twisted families can love in spite of how they were raised, everyone in the books have a connection, there are about 10-15 main characters!

The other Series is just getting started, it's The Consortium Series, and begins with Sleeping Lizards - Book 1: Somnolent Chameleon. It has 13 main characters, and will be a 13 Book Series. Book 1 is out, it's a Medical Sci-Fi, Special Ops Thriller.

And my last Series is the Pharaoh Memnet Series, it is being rewritten, due to reader feedback, SO you will have to stay tuned. It's about the Hebrew Exodus from Egypt told from the view of the Egyptian Royal family, with a paranormal twist. Book 5, Ramesses: Obsidian Heart will be out in two weeks, with the 're-edited Pharaoh Memnet being given away FREE on Amazon for 5 days in mid April.

Please message me if any of these interest you. I am on Amazon under Trisha A.Lindsey or my Pseudonym, Ronin Schtihl Daire.

You can view information about me and my books on my website, http://www.trishaalindsey.wix.com/tri...

Thanks, hope it interests you and your group!

You could read my mystery. ;)

Beau, I like Carlos Ruiz Zafon's The Shadow of the Wind series in order. Those are almost more than a mystery.

C.L. Schneider (goodreadscomclschneider) | 6 comments Hello everyone :)
I'm fairly new to Goodreads, but I'm really enjoying the experience and the opportunity to meet so many great people.

I've been writing pretty much my entire life, but I just took the plunge in December and self published my first novel, The Crown of Stone: Magic-Price (available on Amazon). It's the first in a fantasy trilogy about and a man with an innate, physical addiction to magic, born into a world where magic is reviled, not revered.
Currently working on book 2. I also write urban fantasy now and then.

Glad to be a part of the group!

K.D. McQuain (kd_mcquain) | 97 comments Hello everyone. I'm new to the group also and fairly recent to Goodreads. I have been reading all my life and kept thinking to myself that my book ideas are just as good a many I've read. So... I have been working on my own Urban/Paranormal/Horror/YA novel. My final draft "should" be finished later this year.

Maybe when its finished I can convince some of you to be early readers and let me know if I am on the right track.

R.C. Matthews (raymondpluechel) | 3 comments Hiya! Is that too brash? I don't think I've ever greeted somebody like that in person. Isn't it amazing what we can do while looking through a screen?

Anyway, I'm Raymond. I'm fairly new to Goodreads, though I'm already thrilled by all that's done here. In case my presence here does not speak for itself, I am an avid reader and enjoy nothing better than a good story. I'm also a writer, and spent the majority of my college days ignoring research papers in lieu of creative writing. Fortunately, I graduated: and also found myself with several completed manuscripts. It'll be nice connecting with potential readers, and checking out some new writers.

Terri (terrijd) | 10 comments Hi, I'm Terri. I've been writing since the age of 11 and I have yet to find a reason to stop! I write everything from chick lit and mysteries to poetry. I just released a book of haiku last week.

When I'm not writing the stuff I love to write, I do copywriting as a day job. If there's any free time left, I love to read, take photos and listen to music on vinyl.

I'm counting down the months until my debut novel is published (July 29th!) by Touchstone/Simon & Schuster. I'm currently working a new novel to keep myself busy while I wait. I'm a single mom to two young girls, which also keeps me very busy. Nice to meet you all!

Gregory Napier (gregorynapier) Hello everyone. I'm pretty new to Goodreads, so I hope I've joined an appropriate group.

As for my introduction, I am both a writer and a reader. I cannot imagine doing one without the other. I've recently released a novel, Afflicted Dawn! It's a really exciting time for me. I won't lie, I joined Goodreads with the main premise of self-promotion, but after perusing the site just a little, I honestly believe that becoming part of the community as a true contributor will be a much more enjoyable endeavor. If anyone has any wisdom of the site to pass along, I'm all ears.

Looking forward to my time here. Cheers!

It's a pleasure to meet you as well. Just curious, while I'm trying to acquaint myself to the site, do you have any suggestions that might get me up to speed a bit quicker? I'm more of a learn as I go kind of person, but my internet time tends to be limited these days.

message 6944: by Margaret (new)

Margaret Sisu (margaretsisu) | 6 comments Hello everyone, I'm Margaret Sisu, author of suspense/intrigue with hefty helpings of romance. I fell bass-ackwards into novel writing. After years of scribbling for stress relief at uni, I ended up in a foreign country not speaking the language and thought - "Why not try writing a book? What else have I got to do?" I self-pubbed as a what-the-heck and because no one knew me from Adam. "The Nude" ended up being a Kirkus Reviews Best of 2012, featured on USAtoday.com, and I got a call from an NBC production affiliate about possibly optioning it for a movie (didn't in the end, but hey.) People started asking, "So you're writing another one, right?" Sooooo..."Nathaniel Myer" just came out and Kirkus again called it "addictive." Turns out, writing fiction is what I should have been doing all along. I was always a greedy and compulsive reader soooo...here I am. Now writing is what I do even as I hate book marketing...so here I am. Goodreads, the ultimate two-fer. Since joining, I've found quite a few new writers I've been getting into while spreading the word about my work. Now I'm plotting another heart-thumping novel #3 even as 14 brand new novels with pristine, un-creased spines beckon from my library shelf. (Yes, I said library shelf. E-books are 'efficient', but paper is tactile ambrosia.)

message 6945: by Gregory (new)

Gregory Napier (gregorynapier) Hi Margaret! I'm new myself, and it is a pleasure to meet you. I'm also a huge fan of physical books. Nothing beats that smell as you flip through the pages or that texture of each page as you wind through the unknown. Best of luck on numero 3!
